That's a reallyy good quote, I feel like many people would relate to this especially the first part since even I do. The start of this quote really tells you that you should forgive yourself for whatever you did in the past. I guess the word is "acceptance." Many people made mistakes back then and you can't go back and change them anymore, but just like in the quote, you can still start today and change the ending. "As long as you are alive, you can still change yourself."
as a student I definitely suggest quitting social media... I did that after observing the topmost students of my class. They just believe that they are as important as Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk. Nobody can easily reach them. They are very disconnected. I did the same and believe me youll become a more reflective person after that... A social circle(on social media not physical-living-existing-friends) binds you to mediocrity(bit too rough but being an introvert i dont care).
I deleted all my social media but now here’s youtube which i kept to understand some difficult topics yet I’m distracted on this app too what should i do
Finally I'm not sick anymore... Today was one of my most productive days... had such a great day after a long time(after being sick for a week I kinda forgot how to be productive)... what's a better reward than your new video right on time...:-)
The best part about your content is how mindful you are when narrowing down a bunch of info into a "simple" abc video. Even your speech rate and visuals are a huge aid. Thanks!
i did quit using social media for almost 3 months now and my mental health is improving day by day. I started to meditate and exercise and it helped me overcome anxiety and depression, also helped in focusing studies. since i deleted social media i feel more confident about myself.
this video actually is insanely helpful because it bestowed light upon my current personal issues revolving my phone addiction. i appreciate how it hit the main points such as the negative effects of using my phone right before bed and right before getting out of bed. some other things liked were the creation section, which actually inspired me to write this comment. it forces me to reflect on what i just watched and forcing me to truly think about how i can apply what the video states to my life. some other things i appreciated were the moments in the boundaries section such as setting specific time blocks to where you can and cant use your phone. for instance, when you brought up only scrolling while either standing, walking, or in the restroom. it makes sense to me because these are the times where you are the least mentally active, therefore scrolling with intention during these times could possibly be productive in a sense, rather than scrolling throughout the day where it does nearly nothing but harm. then also within the boundaries section, you mentioned setting restrictive boundaries on hours you can absolutely not use your phone. i also feel as though this can be incredibly beneficial to my life because by setting these blocks, i can keep up momentum with my focus and not have to reset my focus every 5-30 mins.
At night when I get back from work, I would clean up things that have accumulated in the morning, this way it puts a break from me scrolling for hrs to something productive. It tires me up so my wrist is too weak to pick my phone up.
same i found tiktok taking a lot of my time and then i was unable to do school works so i deleted it and it became much better but I still have some improvements to do💪
I think i commented on dopamine detox vid. I just completed an almost successful detox and am avoiding social media till an exam but I still struggled with studying so just wanted to say thank you. Your channel has some amazing tips and advice.
adjust: turn off notifications, uninstall apps that you don't ABSOLUTELY NEED, unfollow accounts if they're not helping you. never keep your phone in your room boundaries: set time limits. make it a part of your schedule TO scroll mindlessly or do it when you're moving create: when you create new things, when you scroll, you're constantly thinking of how you can use it to do something new
Thanks. I improved a lot when I logged out from my Instagram account. It's not even a personal account, just a failed account that I tried to use to sell art like one or two years ago. I was kinda addicted to that section of Instagram where it recommends you random posts made by people who you do not follow. I remember Instagram recommended me a lot of raunchy cringey content made for teens and also toxic posts and posts where everyone complained about everything. But for some reason I easily get addicted to things I hate and I couldn't stop scrolling down, reading comments of people fighting, seeing posts that made me lose my faith in humanity and, more specifically, my gen (gen Z). But these past days I've been struggling with TH-cam because I "discovered" the shorts section. I knew it existed and that it basically mimicked Tik Tok, but I never paid attention to it. Now I find it really addicting, but at the same time the comment sections from those shorts often become warzones and many of the content leaves me thinking "Do people really get viral for doing such dumb simple things?" And "Do people really think these videos aren't scripted?". To be honest, that content is super stupid. I imagine Tik Tok must be something like that. It's a waste of time, I'm aware of it and the worst thing is that I do have options of things to do, but I don't do them because of my cellphone. Just wanted to share my experience.
More people should definitely learn this! So do I! Thank you so much for the tips, I’ll incorporate these tips effectively as I’m just starting school and phone/social media is a HUGE distraction
Great video! I’ve struggle with being on my phone at night and in the morning, it wastes a lot of my time and has its affects on my mental health. Let’s take this control back and become more resourceful with our time!
I think this video is really helpful, these are the basic rules but still we ignore these steps and keep scrolling until we feel so tired that we have to stop , I know that I am not alone who spend 6 hours on average in mindless scrolling, I hope we can grow though this all together, but the most important thing is even if we go off track , we can always come back and take control back .
literally a month ago I deleted ig and it made such a huge difference. I was more productive, less self conscious and could get so much done within less time :)

Basically I already do all of those points, I usually scroll social media on my phone and when I do, I mostly do it in bed or on the toilet. I stopped following people that I don't know or I don't check out regularly on social media. With how much content I have consumed during my time on social media, I have mostly gotten bored with all of it :D

Thanks for your suggestions. I used to limit my internet access only 1 hour a day. Since that's not possible anymore, I get distracted too easily whenever I opened up google or TH-cam. It's getting into a really annoying state. Hope this video will come as a help.
The time limit definitely works, i set around 30 min timers on my phone and it reminds me that i should get off my phone because without the timer, i would spend way much more time on my phone So i would definitely recommend this to people who find themselves scrolling on their phone and not realize time going by
the problem is that i can totally contro myself, i have no notis, time limits but i talk to someone i cant see in real life so i cant have less than 3h of screen time
Phone usage Adjust: 1. Turning of notifications 2. Uninstall the apps that waste a lot of time and are useless 3. Adjust the feed and choose wisely who to follow 4. Adjust bedroom scrolling. Use an alarm clock rather than a phone. Boundaries : 1. set alarms before scrolling 2. Have a designated time where you can scroll guilt free for 15 to 20 minutes 3. Have a designated time where you are not allowed to scroll, usually the productive hours, and just before going to bed. 4. Restrict usage to while standing or walking. 5. Use it on a computer and integrate it into your work. Create: 1. Don't just take it, but do give back. 2. Engage in the comment sections. 3. Connect with your favorite content. 4. Make a group thread where you can share contents and develop human connections
This is exactly what I needed. Great tips, especially on the "boundaries" and "creation". Hence why I'm commenting. HAHAHA It's a win-win! It's surprising to know Plato and Socrates discouraged writing. Wouldn't that make Plato a hypocrite? Perhaps that explains why his writing is primarily in dialogue form.
LOL love it thanks for the comment! Yea I guess he was a hypocrite but he was discouraging it before he realized it’s true power. Most things are a double edged sword, moderation is the key
Limiting your time on apps really impact on the quality, not only of your life but of the content as well. I noticed that watching 25h to 30h of TH-cam weekly was not only making* me numb but damaging my emotional state so I had to stop and limit myself to 3h daily I plan to make it 1h one day 😂 and honestly it is hard when I get the time's up notification but my mood and productivity skyrocketed and I am finally reading some books I bought 2 months ago. Do not let apps control you they are very subtle when turning you into a mindless zombie 🧟♂️ haha
My mental health definitely improved after getting off Instagram for a year. No Twitter and I also reduced Facebook. TH-cam shorts are my new issue now lol. But I’m generally better.
I recommend getting a cheap flip phone and getting another device maybe an iPod, something with a small screen, or a tablet, however, avoid a comfortable screen size. allow yourself to use the other device for your addictions and when its time to grind throw it somewhere else
For more detail on this... the reason for having a small screen is so you fat thumb the screen causing annoyance also a big screen is hard to use one hand, flip phone takes awhile to text making you more thoughtful,
It’s sad how much people scroll and forget to engage with humans.. Making those seeking for interactions left alone. We commonly see this happening for elders and children. Looking over the table hoping for interactions and eventually they get disheartened and they too start to check out from meaningful interactions. It is increasingly challenging for singles who are seeking for connection.

Also selfnote to myself : - Don't feel guilty for trying to research right now, this is not a mindless scroll there is a method to this madness.
