So glad to know your first baby didn't sleep through the night and take long naps until 6 months. Makes me feel better. We started at 23 days old and it's been 3 weeks now. The progress is notable but slow

Yes that is how it was for us! It was very notable, but it was slow by a lot of standards. It feels SO LONG when you are in the thick of it.

So what do you do about newborn can naps?? Leave them in there to cry? Get them up? What if they just won't go back to sleep?

@@christiannalewis6514 You will want to help them get back to sleep somehow. You can wait 10 minutes and see what happens--many times newborns will just go back to sleep. They are noisy through sleep transitions and just need a couple of minutes to settle back in. But if they can't go back to sleep, you will want to help them out. See my video or blog post on my newborn sleep hierarchy. www.babywisemom.com/my-sleep-hierarchy-for-newborns/

Hello! Just started babywise with my 5 month old! I'm a little nervous about how to handle wake ups in the middle of the night. He is a really gassy baby and also had reflux as an infant so I'm jaded as far as wanting to pick up and soothe. He has dropped his middle of the night feed but still seems to wake up and scream multiple times of the night. How would you handle those wake ups? Just allow him to scream for 15 minutes? Do you pick him?

Hello! This is always a hard situation. My second child had reflux, so I do have experience with this. I would work to get medication under control, use gas drops, and use gripe water. For more thoughts with reflux, see this: www.babywisemom.com/bw-and-reflux/
