- A lot of people have been requesting a video about the careers that you can steer your child into, so I hope you enjoy this first video on that topic. In today's video, I will introduce you to each child that you can obtain in SoS AWL. Depending on who you choose to marry, your child will be different. You can choose whether you want a boy or a girl, but we only have official artwork of these eight. The child's skin tone will be your skin tone plus the skin tone of the marriage candidate that you chose. Each child starts with a different amount of points in the six categories, making it easier to have them grow into one of those three professions. This game is a remake of Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life and will be releasing on many platforms this summer, including Switch, Xbox, Playstation, and PC.

The kids copying their parent’s poses are really cute! I hope we get to see more official art of the other kids at different stages and the different genders too.

Rock's son bleaching his hair as a teenager like his dad is adorable
I know, right? I love that one of my viewers pointed out that Rock probably dyed his hair (I mean, look at his parents)... Now we have proof that he does!
@@elithegaymer in the old games I remember Rock saying that neither of his parents had his hair color. He acted like blonde was his natural color. He seemed to think they may not be his biological parents.. I felt the same looking at the lack of resemblance.

I never really liked Marlin from the original, but his Matthew redesign makes him my #1 choice for a marriage candidate. Plus his baby is so cute🥹
I like both Marlin and Matthew, even though they are very different. And yeah, his baby is so cute! His eyes are so bright!

Nami's daughter!!😭😭😭❤️💙❤️💙 She is heart breakingly adorable 🥰 I'm so happy with the new artwork and how unique they all look! I love how we're not limited to only one character design for the daughters like we used to be in AWL Special Edition.
Yeah, I love the attention to detail! Each child gets a unique outfit and looks slightly different.
They really glowed up Nami in the remake!! She's absolutely stunning! And her child is my absolute favorite! 😭😭 Like I tear up at her child.. too precious with the big blue eyes and red hair! ❤
I'm so excited for this game. I do hope this game gets some DLC bachelor/bachelorettes like Olive Town did. Flora is my favorite bachelorette and mad they are making her ineligible again after she was eligible in the DS version. XD It would be cool if some of the DS special ones made a return in a future DLC.
Yeah, I wish we could marry Carter! It is strange being that Griffin, Flora, and Carter were marriage candidates in the DS version but now that are back to being NPCs again in this game.
@@elithegaymer I am surprised that they are. I was expecting the options to be upped more than just one. Especially when the FoMT remake added new characters. So at this point, I am holding out for a hope of DLC.
I doubt it since the Japanese one has been out for months and doesn't have any.

i think its technically bc the forgotten valley of the gamecube/switch and the one on the ds are technically not part of the same universe (i think i remember reading something like that on the harvest moon wiki ages ago lol) so the flora, carter, and griffins in the ds game arent from the same continuity
Celia’s child doing the same pose as her is adorable. When I play the English version I will probably choose a daughter because on my Japanese file I had a son.
Actually, all of them have similar poses! I should have used Lumina’s older artwork, because that’s the pose her daughter has.

Aw man, I've decided to pursue Molly (Muffy) in my playthroughs cause of her backstory (failing to find love, with the exception of the player). But Nami's baby is sooooo cute! >w<
Really makes me wish they allowed the bachelors/bachelorettes to hook up with each other if you don't marry one of them. Or at least let Molly have her happy life, like how you can have Nami stay in Forgotten Valley by having a high friendship with her yet not marrying her.

2:26 Nami was always difficult to woo and I never bothered, but damn if this scene isn't tempting me. Her reworked art is really good.
She's much easier to woo in this game. The only character that I would say is kind of hard to woo this time is Cody/Gordy. He wakes up late, only accepts one gift a day, and sometimes doesn't even accept gifts if he is doing something (like punching a wall or crossing his arms).

They're all so darling! I love Nami's kid in particular, I just adore the hair and eye color combo ❤ Rock's kid is cool, too, seeing the kinds of changes they go through in each chapter is very neat, and Cody's daughter is so cute in that gameplay footage. The children in this game are so well done, I can't wait to get to play with them when the English version is out
Yeah, they're all so cute, it's worth playing this game multiple times to see them all! The release date is only a few months away now!

I married Gordy! As a black woman who loved this game as a child, there was something special about not only being able to now marry a black man (though his features are...unique), but making my farmer also a black woman was really special.
I'm so excited for the game to release in the US! Gustafa's child is so adorable and solidified my decision to marry him. 😅🥰

Is Nami/Gustafa and Lumina/Gordy kids still pretty angry as teens?
Well, I've only gotten to that point twice so far, but I can confirm that both Gustafa and Gordy's kids both have that scene and it plays out exactly the same. I think all kids go through a slightly rebellious phase at that age (in this game and in real life) haha.
Ugh I want to watch this but I'm sure I'll regret it. Thanks for tempting me with a fun video idea though, I'll check this out after I get bored of AWL!

a simple detail that there was in the classic was that the son I had with Lumina was different from the son I had with Celia and since the baby stage I thought it was cute to see the baby I had with Celia putting his hand in his mouth while walked, it was as if he was always thoughtful "🤔"

When I played as a kid I chose Muffy or “Molly” but Celia is so so pretty and her child is adorable 🥺

I know, right? Gotta have 8 save files now, hahaha.
I always ended up with my child being stacked in Art in the original games regardless of who I married, who I spent time with, and how much time I spent on the farm (Celia or Nami, Gustafa ‘cause Rock’s a narcissist and Marlin has zero personality that isn’t alchoholism or obsessing about Celia even after he reverse proposes or you marry him apparently or lying about a throwaway terminal illness that Doesn’t make him idk stop working with Vesta if you don’t marry him or otherwise die; he and everyone else still outlives you…)
And like. After learning about the cheatcodes I just upgrade my farm nearly all the way in Ch1 + plant the Standard Trees Orchard since…if my child for whatever reason will only ever be an artist (never a rancher, farmer, or musician) might as well make the farming sim gameplay more enjoyable, right??
Anyway, I hope the child’s interests/skills don’t end up “stuck”. (Or maybe both my AWL and AnWL copies are mildly corrupted? Eh.)
They are not "stuck" in this game, I am happy to report, haha. Actually, the game has bars for each of the items (which you can see in this video) AND when something changes, it uses a different color to show how much it changed by.
I’m excited for this game but I really don’t know who I’m going to married to in forgotten valley but I’ll find out myself & just u know that I done voice acting to the marriage candidates with their own personality & I done it with Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town & but not Story of Seasons Friends of Mineral Town due of repeated dialogue but I done most in olive town so I’m hoping that marvelous & xseed games can add more dialogue for the marriage candidates & the townspeople in forgotten valley that will be amazing for all of us no matter what

It's hard to choose. I would love to see them all before choosing. Too bad we can't pick genders. I always liked Nami and Muffy, or I guess now Molly. For dudes, I liked Rock the most. Marlin is okay. I wish we could have a cross-over with the mineral town folks. Also, too bad Skye isn't in the game
You can pick the gender of your child! Right after your wedding ceremony, your spouse will ask you which gender child you would prefer. The sprites overhear your conversation and work their magic to make it happen, haha.
For some reason I was convinced there was an "archeologist" career, I realise now that must be scholar 🤔
Translating isn't a an exact science, so it could be translated as archeologist or scholar. Natsume did the original translation, Xseed will be doing the translation for this version, and I have taken the liberty to translate myself for most of my videos thus far, hahaha. So, I guess we will have to see in June what they decide to call that career!

I’ve already planned out a lot of my first two playthroughs: I’m going to marry Cecilia in one and Matthew in the other, have daughters with both of them, and name Cecilia’s daughter Nina and Matthew’s daughter Eleanor. I won’t, however, be pushing either Nina or Eleanor towards a specific career path; I just want them to do whatever makes them happy.
I’ve married all of these guys save for Gordie in the past games with this cast, so I think I’m set on him.
How do the gay/lesbian relationships work in regards to the children? I'm guessing either adoption or harvest sprite magic. I'm really curious because my female farmer has already wooed and proposed to Cecilia.
A few years pass between each chapter, so the details of exactly what happens and how is never addressed. That being said, your child is a mix of you and your spouse, so signs point to it being sprite magic.

I'm sure a lot of people will disagree but I feel like they did rock's kids super dirty he was WAY better looking in ANWL. Losing the blonde hair is one thing but his eyes too?! They're like an olive/vomit color when they used to be a very pretty light hazel....
I think this game confirms that Rock dyes his hair. Did you watch to the end? I have what Rock's child looks like through the years. His child dyes their hair in the second to last chapter, haha.

Yes, just before you get married your partner will ask you to choose. You can choose to have a boy, a girl, or you can say that you don't mind either way.

It affects several different things, including the ending that you will obtain! Also, your child may help you out on the farm!

No, during your wedding ceremony they will ask you your preference. You can chose a boy, a girl, or random.
i got daughter when play on ps2 old time ago
Yeah, the original Gamecube version didn't let you choose, but the Special Edition on PS2 allowed you to have a daughter if you did certain things.

You can pick! During the wedding ceremony, the sprites listen in as your spouse asks you your preference! You can say that you want a boy, a girl, or that either is fine! The sprites then work their magic to make it happen, haha.
If the kid become farmer, will he / she inherit the farm? Marriage candidate only this 8 persons?
Yes, there are only these eight marriage candidates and yes, if your child becomes a farmer, they will inherit the farm.

Yes! So each child also has 4 different potential skin tones. Their skin tone is yours plus your spouse's. At 0:40, that is the darkest skin color possible (darkest skin toned main character who has married Gordy). I was gonna make a video show casing the four possible skin colors but Gordy is hard to romance once, let alone four times, hahaha.

It does! You can see it in this video near the end (male main character with Rock). You can choose to be male, female, or non-binary and marry anyone regardless of gender!

I actually cut Rock some slack because like you say, hes honest from the start about what he wants from life. And I guess, what's wrong with wanting an easy, chill life anyway! But tbf yeah he may not be suited to the main character lol. He actually calls matt out at one point (saying he's in love with celia) too though. Even the other characters have noticed something is going on with Matt.
