      We all know someone is already designing a 3D printable enclosure to replace the original screen with a larger one. We'll have a 27 inch 4K oscilloscope with physical buttons shortly. RIP DS1054Z, you had your run.

    The "HDMI resolution" drop down selector as well as the option to turn "DSP" On and Off will appear on the DH0800, in the "Other" menu, once you enable "Debug Mode" / "Test Model On."
    To enable "Debug Mode" / "Test Model On," choose "utility" from the main menu and tap on the word "About" 3 to 4 times. You will notice the amount of information listed on the about tab increase and you have a bunch of new options to choose from in the "SelfCal" menu. A new "Debug" menu appears at the bottom of the screen :) Enjoy!
    It looks like the max resolution is 1920x1080_60. I've noticed video on the HDMI output port is ever so slightly delayed (bordering on the edge of even being perceptible) when compared against the built in display. The only way I was able to noticed this delay was when I connected a mouse. Pointer movement has a slight hesitation when changing directions quickly.
    The video one sees on the "web page" has a much more marked delay. It's not too bad. It's comparable to Siglent's remote VNC Solution.

    Too bad HDMI didn't standardize touchscreen over I2C, could theoretically be implemented with one cable.

      It has USB-C on the back. I don't see why it wouldn't work with one cable.

    • @calholli
      @calholli ปีที่แล้ว

      @@petrpolasek5931 Well if that "screen" was a computer, it could just pull power from the computer. Also, can it only draw power from the USB-C? I would think they could draw power through the front USB also. (I guess that would make more sense if they had a built in battery). Anyway, there's plenty of options. I'm gonna grab one on black Friday, since we are so close to it. Hopefully they drop the price even more.

    Im unsure how you riggeed this?
    did you use the HDMI for picture, and the USB with the hub for touch and mouse, as Im not familiar that HDMI can carry touch input?
    Or is both the picture & touch managed by that single USB port in the front? - so you in theory have two approaches for picture signal, both HDMI and the approach you shown above?
    Would surprise me if a USBA port that looks to have 4 string, can handle that.

    An unrelated noob question. Today we have a tons of cheap microwave DIY solutions - human presense radars and similar devices with around $5 boards with smth. like LD2410 chip, so it's very tempting to play around with them. And the question is: what entry level hobbyist oscilloscopes, like up to $500, exist for those frequencies, like with the bandwidth of 25 MHz+ accordingly?

    • @arsenyspin1726
      @arsenyspin1726 ปีที่แล้ว

      you mentioned microwaves, then maybe you meant - 24GHz+? ...within $500? Then none, I guess. Like, afaik Infiniium UXR-B series from Keysight might do that, but I'd expect a price tag closer to $40-50k for a 30GHz+ version (UXR0334B) and up. If you meant 25MHz+ then I suppose basically *any* entry-level oscilloscope will work for you, even some hand-held multimeters, but I'd give up on the idea of sampling the actual microwave input/output of these radar chips

    • @idleprepress
      @idleprepress ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arsenyspin1726 GHz of course. Yeah, I did some research and concluded that the most budget solution would be an old oscilloscope from eBay, they are obtainable starting from like $1500. Still pretty expensive to play with a $5 board. :/
