I disagree, we are not all witches. I know a few elves, faeries, and brownies that would disagree. And far too many people are definitely not witches. They are everything a witch is not and do not deserve the title.

I’m an urban witch and the soundscape of the city really adds to my practice. My windows are always open during my full moon ceremonies so I can hear the buzz of people, traffic, aeroplanes, sirens, dogs, music. It provides a kind of soothing vibration and I find it just elevates my work. I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, which has a very dark history. Edinburgh is the original Salem. Witch trials were carried out at a lake in the middle of the city called the Nor Loch, and there’s a plaque next to the esplanade of the city’s famous castle commemorating all of the young women who were burned there. I feel such a strong emotional tie to this city, and I am a proud urban witch!

Yes, Edinburgh DOES have a very dark history, also very fascinating, rich history! You're so very lucky to live where you do. I'd trade places with you in a heartbeat. I'm going to visit Scotland next fall, and I can't wait. I live in Hollywood, Calif., in a very unique, woodsy area next to Griffith Park, so I do all my ceremonial magick (I'm a ceremonial magician) outside, in my yard, between 2:00-4:00 AM. I can't even practice indoors at all anymore, it just doesn't feel right. Atmosphere is important for me, when I practice. For instance, I practice in the side yard of my Tudor (authentic ) house, which makes it feel like it's year 1310, and if I face East , I see L.A. skyline, and if I face North, I've got half the Hollywood sign looking down on me, while deer & coyote randomly run past me, and sometimes in my yard, as I practice. One night, a coyote sat watching me maybe 10-15 feet away, as I was practicing. It was so awesome. I also had a mama Raccoon with her two babies trailing behind her, casually walk right into my circle of divine light, stop for a sec, look at me, and when I moved, they quickly ran off. I think she thought I was a tree until I moved, then got scared.

I’m a baby witch at the age of just turning 13, I think I may be a cosmic witch or maybe a elemental witch! My grandma was in to this type of stuff. My mom supports me while my stepdad thinks he failed as a parent in allowing me.
Caleigh, witchcraft is transferred through the blood line only. It's not something you can teach out of someone either 😂 so your stepfather didn't fail you. Just like trying to hold back a wave on the beach. Impossible. But it isn't necessarily transferred to everyone in the family. Stick to white magic, have tea and sit down with granny and ask some questions if possible. 😉 I found out my mom was hiding being a witch for 30 yrs while I was growing up and then I found out my great grandfather was a Shaman. Men in general are VERY afraid of "magic". And they define most anything as magic. They can be nervous around it. Just assure him that has your powers grow and you become powerful yourself that u wont use the magic to hurt him unless he desrves it. Hahaaa...yes, end that statement with an evil cackle.
I am a secular, agnostic, solitary, self taught, green, kitchen, cottage, cosmic, art, and crystal witch. Such a mouthful, but I love that there are so many ways to intercept each of these into my practices

I have been practicing since 1978 and I have been down many paths over the years. I have settled on being an eclectic intuitive witch. I use many ritual and spell types that may fall under different categories of witchcraft but mostly I follow my intuition and use my magic to focus it. We'll done video and I appreciate the respect you show to the other beliefs under the umbrella of witchcraft and paganism. That's not always the case when I have seen others do this kind of thing. I think one good thing about having a title at first is that it allows you to focus on something. There is SO MUCH you can do with witchcraft that it can be very overwhelming; there are simply so many topics you can read and learn about. Identifying yourself as something (even if just temporary) can help you focus in on certain topics and really learn them happily.

I do a little bit of everything as well lol. I mostly focus on hedge, green, and art witchcraft, but I do also work with the elements, kitchen magic cause I love to cook, and lunar phases. While I am atheist and secular in practice, I'm getting more into the eight sabbats and celebrating them for their spiritual significance rather than the religious aspect.

I am a crystal witch! I collect crystals, subscribe to crystal boxes, tumble crystals, charge crystals, cleanse crystals, wear them, and carry them lol. It is my most dominate label but I do grow plants and herbs but not as passionately. I use my craft in everyday including my spirituality but the crystals are my passion.

I have been an Eclectic Solitary Witch for over 60 years. Since my grandson was interested in becoming a Witch, he is now also a Solitary Witch,. Although he has branched out over the years and has picked the Goddess and Spirit Animal with which he works. He is 24, so I suppose that he could be called an Eclectic Hereditary Solitary Witch, too. Being a Crone now, I work mostly with Hecate.🌹
The most important question was asked by Glenda to Dorothy, "Are you a good witch or a bad witch?" There are many methods of witchcraft, but more important is how you use your practices in the craft. Magic is invoked all around, if you know what to look for. I have only somewhat recently considered adopting the label "witch" though this is because I have been an unlabeled magical practitioner pretty much my entire life.

I don't think that it's at all realistic to believe any witch is purely all good all of the time. Magic is like nature in many ways. There at times needs to be destruction to have creation. Sometimes the only way to protect yourself does cause mental or physical harm. That doesn't inherently make it "bad" in the way that we are traditionally lead to see good and bad. I am a thousand of shades of gray. My Magic reflects my life and my story. I do not go out of my way to harm others, but I will not allow myself to willfully be harmed either.
My coven are mostly crystal witches and we have one budding medium- I'm still learning- and the funny thing was I already collected rocks before I started to learn about witchcraft! So, even with my parents being closed-minded about it, they don't notice a thing because I already loved rocks! Other than that I'm mostly unlabeled. However, I want to try art witchcraft with my creative writing and infuse it with luck and healing magic for the reader. I think that could help a lot of people and be a special thank you to my audience for the day when I eventually publish.
I love wood, candles, incense, and making my home beautiful. Also going on spirit trips with music, and ghosts and the supernatural. Many things really.
Rock on then. My Coven only does positive spells I am an initiated Witch High Priest and run a very small (6 people) Coven that is family by blood or by marriage. Myself my boyfriend , 2 nephews and their wives. But since every Sunday we get together for dinner and I try to turn Sunday afternoons so into training/classroom time .

I've always felt that a lot of wiccan exclusive practitioners just exude this energy of gothic drama and negativity, as if they're somehow a higher being for practicing "true witchcraft". Wiccans tend to gatekeep and judge others harshly, so many Wiccan youtube videos I've seen love to make it a point that their way is the only way and any other way is wrong. It's genuinely exhausting and really pushes new witches away from the craft
I think these labels are fun as long as they are not taken too seriously/in a limiting way. They're also great for beginners to get into witchcraft without getting overwhelmed by the large scope of options. I have been practicing for many years and I am absolutely all of these things, but to each their own! Labels can be very empowering and that's cool.
Yes, you're on point, Bex, as usual. When I was younger there was less acceptance and it was easier to simply not label oneself even just claiming the title of "witch". Doing so only led to unnecessary battles of the wits with unarmed persons 🤦🏼♀️. Now I would say that I am an "onion witch"...I have many layers! hehe

Thanks for this, I was a little confused on the terms! These are the few I think sound like me: Green witch, cottage witch, hedge witch, lunar witch! Though I like crystals and still use them in certain practices, I naturally turn to the herbs and greenery.

I just started learning witchcraft. My mom always says that she is a witch. She uses energies to heal both mentally and phisically. She also has the ability to predict death and accidents. One day she was really sick, and she held my hand as we were walking. I was maybe 10. She said that she felt that same energy from my hands that she uses to heal, and that i could be a witch just like her. That was the day i decided that once i will learn witchcraft. And now i am here. I think i am naturalky drawn towards the kitchen, cottage and lunar witch. Maybe also hedge witch since i have always been able to see spirits. I am excited to learn!

I am a homemaker who loves to decorate my witchy space- so I must be a cottage witch. I also love to cook and use magic in my recipes- so I must be a kitchen witch. I follow a Druidic path and scry so I must be a hedge witch. I have hundreds of crystals and am a crystal healer so I must be a crystal witch! 😄 I think the term I relate to the most is ‘solitary’ as I’m not in a coven and have no desire to be. I would love a video about urban/city witchcraft! I recently moved out of my grandmother's sweet, quiet home with her beautiful herb gardens, flower beds, shady trees, lots of creatures that live in and enjoy her lush green backyard, I could gush forever about how much I love the energy in her space... but now I've moved with my partner into a high-rise 7th floor condo right in the heart of a busy downtown tourist district where the energy is entirely different. All my windows face north, I have limited balcony space, there's constant noise pollution from sirens and traffic, I can't light candles or burn incense without setting off fire alarms! And the only plants within walking distance of me are the narrow strips of grass between the road and the sidewalk and some palm trees. I've always felt called to witchcraft because of the connection with nature, now I feel so out of my element. I need some tips and ideas on how to embrace this new lifestyle and adapt my practice to it.

So sorry to hear that you feel so out of your element - but with everything, I am sure that with some adaption it will get better 💚 I made the exact opposite change last year and have always been living in the city (tiny apartments in high-rise buildings, usually downtown with no nature around) - so I do have quite some tips and tricks on urban witchery ☺️ I will share a video very soon. When I was a kid, we lived in a small flat and my parents always had a million and one plants hanging in the living room and we had an electric hanging stone well on one wall for the calming water sounds :) So it always felt like you were in a secret fairy garden or some forest :D

I've been drawn to art, herbs, and nature to bring healing for different illnesses I deal with and going to share with others. One thing I do is play hand drums for helping mood and meditation. I'm developing a program to do this with seniors.
I am also a natural healer, empath/psychic, sensitive that is now embracing my green white witch side of me. I'm starting to read and learn more about it. Any suggestions.
@@MsRita2014 absolutely not :) Many witches practice completely without that aspect. Personally, I don't practice like that either - as I don't believe in the existence of deities or spirits.

For atheist witchcraft advice I recommend Sedna Woo on TH-cam. Or you can watch my videos of course for some inspiration, especially vlogs and spells :)
I would definitely call myself eclectic. I love using my tarot cards and have been told my readings are on point. I also like , cooking, baking, to crochet.. didn't realize that was ACTUALLY a thing witchy-wise, and would love to do more with hearth/cottage magic . I consider myself Pagan, but I don't have any specific path yet, as I am still on my journey of discovery, and doing it alone. I would like to have mentors for the different areas I am interested in, but have no clue how to find them. Thank you so much for the extensive breakdown.

I was really scared that being a witch would mean I would worship things like Satan but now I know that being a witch is free and is a unique experience and a chance to be free and be who I am thank you for this is truly helped
If you are Christian or catholic then to them they would believe that any form of magic is considered evil and sinful, I personally dont believe that if you are a witch you would have to be "atheists" or "agnostic" or "christian" being a witch means that you would have to also leave the religon as well, you cant be sinning and choose to keep doing black magic. Remember christians and catholics had witch hunts, its a really dark sad part of history but thats the reality.

I've been a crystal witch this whole time! I starting collecting rocks when I was younger and I have been putting them in my potted plants just because I think It makes the plant look cuter haha I didn't know it was actually a thing. I think I'm a mix between a crystal witch, a cottage witch and a green witch.

I have never really labeled myself as a specific type of witch, but after seeing this video I think my mind has opened to some new possibilities. I always knew I was sensitive to spirits and my family does a lot of ancestor work, but I had never even thought about using my art in my craft. I cannot believe it never crossed my mind. It feels both awkward and liberating to write this; I am now 30 years old and lately I've been feeling the need to start re-explore the world of witchcraft. When I was a child, I felt magic all around me. During my teenage years I tried to explore more of this but with the limited resources I had at the time, it seemed that to be able to be a witch you *had* to practice the wiccan religion. I tried for a brief time but I didn't feel it was right for me as I am agnostic. Especially in these last couple of days I felt many signs pointing me towards this direction again, with a little repressed voice inside of me trying to emerge again. Watching this video and hearing you saying that you don't have to believe in a God(dess) to be a witch almost had me crying - in the best way possible. Thank you so much. I didn't even realise there were so many possibilities and now I'm so eager to learn more and more. I feel so full of energy right now!
My journey has been similar. I was a very magical child, and I tried to explore it as a teen and young adult but lacked resources. Interference from abusive parents and poor mental health also complicated things during my 20s. I turned 30 this year; I also decided to become a witch this year. I don't believe this is a coincidence. I believe forces greater than myself kept me from re-entering the magical world and reconnecting with what I understood intuitively as a child until I was ready. The first sign (that I was able to recognise) came when I was 28. Since then, I've made progress in leaps and bounds. It's been hard getting here, but today, I consider my bad childhood to have been the best thing for me magically. I also felt anxious about expectations. I had begun to believe in God but didn't feel ready to convert to any particular religion. All of them seemed to have something I disliked or disagreed with (attitudes towards women and homosexuals being the usual problem areas) and, therefore, could not be the ultimate truth. I figured out pretty quickly that no one has access to the ultimate truth, and that while learning and practicing magic entails at least some study of religion, it doesn't mean you have to pick one and convert. It makes very little sense for a magician who was not brought up in a religion to suddenly start practicing one. That's confirmation bias. Religion is, and should be, a lifetime study. Older and wiser religious people understand this, while the younger or less tolerant ones who don't are just looking for an ego boost, or money, or both. The former are capable of accepting you without sharing every one of your beliefs, and the latter are safe to disregard.
I'm very new to witchcraft (one month) and I am glad to know there are so many different ways to practice although I am not too sure where I fit in just yet. I feel more drawn to nature and spend a lot of time hiking and camping solo. I am drawn to elements, particularly water and fire.

I also follow Alwyn, & I am also lucky to have the countryside on my doorstep. Since I have retired nature has become very important to me & I love walking in it. Just lately I was inspired to create a fairy garden in my garden with objects mostly from nature & just sitting in it is so relaxing, even my dog loves it lol.

This is very informative. I'm an old pagan( north of 50 ), and have considered witchcraft as a craft I shouldn't meddle with. I will never fully understand the forces involved. Women in my family never practiced witchcraft, but we’re definitely a family of witches. Being Protestants so they didn’t really have the language but spiritual forces have always followed us. I don’t identify with a specific label, but my primary form of practice has to do with feminine forces both cosmic and spiritual. I was blessed to be adopted by several powerful goddesses. This reaches across pantheons and involves a wide range of rituals. I love me some herbal offerings! My practice has grown out of me like a pretty little flower. I can’t possibly limit such a thing.
I've always labeled myself as eclectic solitary wiccan for the past ten years but I currently lean more towards "just pagan" and not necessarily wiccan. I love to weave magick into so many small aspects of my life. Way too many labels would fit me so I guess "eclectic" is definitely not a bad way to describe it 😊
My 4yr-old LOVES to help in the kitchen & has taken to saying we're adding "protection" to food we're cooking, instead of saying salt. 🤭 He also has is stir in "happiness" to the Kool-aid when he helps me make it. He makes me so happy! 😊

self-taught, solidarity, grey, and eclectic are the main labels i would have. i’ve been called to study many paths and forms of crafts like chaos, storm, cosmic, green, etc. it’s really nice to see eclectic witches widely accepted. no soul and magic is the dame per person!

My sister and i were both initiated by our mother at 11 and 12. We are 28 and 29 years old, back then those labels weren’t a thing and being a witch meant, in our education, that a little bit of all of those were important. But elemental magic was a bit more important, with astrology and divination (my sister and my mother both are tarot readers, i am more into runes). We got informations with books and storytelling, some internet sites were available but they were weird forums ahahah. But that was interesting, and a bit more complicated than when we were younger!
Another self-taught eclectic witch here :) I identified at least a little bit with every type of witch, especially kitchen, cosmic, hedge and green. Another witch taught me that the etymology of “witch” is simply “wise woman”, and I think that’s beautiful, because it doesn’t box us in.

Hi, I'm Christian, too, but have been born into a family where my mother had what used to be called ESP and I have always been drawn to the unusual, even practiced Wiccan years ago, but I have accepted Jesus as my Savior, and converted to Catholicism. I still believe in magic, but now know all comes from God. So, to wear there are Christian witches makes me think maybe this where I might fit in?
I'm fairly certain my wife is a Christian witch (I'm a heathen, so this is far from bothering), but I don't think she knows it, you know what I mean...She's had premonitions, and when she says what's going to happen in an event, it happens...She definitely has clairvoyance.

I definitely started my journey as an unknowing CRAFT WITCH - people would always comment how talented I was with hands-on creative projects that required skills I never had before I tried. But I am super glad to have found other ways to practice and feel like I am naturally connected to so many forms of witchcraft. And without needing to label myself, it is so nice to be able to identify practices rather than limit people. Thank you for this video!
I love to learn all I can so I definitely see the limitations of labels but like you said it can help us narrow down what we are specifically looking for. Personally I am very drawn to herbalism so I fall under green witch and hedge witch as I’m quite sensitive to spiritual things. I love all things folklore especially learning about Appalachian traditions where my grandmother and mate are from.

I so dislike the labels. If someone wants to do that for themselves, that is your right and if it makes you happy do it. I am a Witch. That’s it. My mom, grand mom, aunt, great grandma etc were witches. I don’t want to be boxed in due to labeling myself. My journey will no doubt grow and change. The only label for me may be solitary, but who knows maybe someday I will find a coven.

Which is why I label myself a Chaos Practitioner. It's almost like an anti-label that means there are literally no limitations, it can take me anywhere.
I’m a beginner witch and I would consider myself mainly a lunar, elemental, and crystal witch. I’m interested in the moon cycles, crystal meanings (Im building my collection and currently have an aqua quartz and a rose quartz), and I use candles and rainwater in some aspects of witchcraft.
After watching this video, I didn’t exactly get what I wanted but I got something just as good. I came here wanting to know what category I was meant to fall in, hoping I would know what to call myself, but instead I realized: I just don’t fall in a category. I don’t have to chose. I’m a young witch, at the age of 11, and ever since I was around 5 I’ve been trying to teach myself how to be a witch. My mother told me her grandma was a witch so it runs in my blood. That fact gave me faith and I’ve been practicing more and more every day but at some point I noticed, I was the only one in my family who hadn’t chosen a title. I now know what I am. I’m a free witch. Free of titles that define and limit what I can do and who I can be. A baby witch who’s knows he can push past the limits he was told he had and utterly destroy them altogether. Just knowing what types of witches were there helped me realize that nobody is required to chose a label.

I myself am definitely a mixed bag. I love Crystals, working with Herbs and Nature, planting flowers and working with Trees and animals. I'm also very much drawn to fire from candles and a huge love of snow, enjoying the elements of nature again. I've never fully applied magical thought to music or my artwork but I'm very much into all of that so I'll give it a try! To be honest...if I had to pick a top three things.. Crystals, Herbs and probably Art. I've wanted to start making magical little healing things to try and sell since I see myself as a healer. I guess that would make me Eclectic? Since I like a little bit of everything and I do tend to pick and choose stuff that interests me the most. I work with deities like Archangel Michael but also, Apollo and Artemis and it's just an amazing world of wonder. Artemis sends me signs with deer usually! I remember seeing two does one morning when I was full of anxiety before a surgery. It made me feel better and more at ease. Thank you so much for the interesting video! I'll refer back to this one from time to time to help me remember things I could maybe attempt to expand my practice!

I'm a baby Eclectic witch :3c. I looked into practices and read a book about being a solitary witch. I can't bring myself to be boxed up in a certain category, I can only place what I won't go into (which isn't a lot, tbh). Being a witch for me involves getting myself grounded and connected to nature and the energies around me (theories of mine, haven't tried it out yet). Even if I consider not doing a specific thing, I like to think sometime down the line I could try it out. At this moment in time I'm interested in candle/fire magic as I feel very calm near a lit flame and bonfires or I feel connected to it and helps me connect deeper in myself o-x. I also like the symbolism of fire: the balance of rebirth and destruction.
I'm currently using my phone to make my grimoire notes and I'm using this video as a guide on what to look for and do more research into, cause I'm definitely eclectic and like/am interested in a bit of everything you mentioned. Love your videos

I’m an urban witch and the soundscape of the city really adds to my practice. My windows are always open during my full moon ceremonies so I can hear the buzz of people, traffic, aeroplanes, sirens, dogs, music. It provides a kind of soothing vibration and I find it just elevates my work. I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, which has a very dark history. Edinburgh is the original Salem. Witch trials were carried out at a lake in the middle of the city called the Nor Loch, and there’s a plaque next to the esplanade of the city’s famous castle commemorating all of the young women who were burned there. I feel such a strong emotional tie to this city, and I am a proud urban witch!

I live in Hollywood, Calif., in a very unique, woodsy area next to Griffith Park, so I do all my ceremonial magick (I'm a ceremonial magician) outside, in my yard, between 2:00-4:00 AM. I can't even practice indoors at all anymore, it just doesn't feel right. Atmosphere is important for me, when I practice. For instance, I practice in the side yard of my Tudor (authentic ) house, which makes it feel like it's year 1310, and if I face East , I see L.A. skyline, and if I face North, I've got half the Hollywood sign looking down on me, while deer & coyote randomly run past me, and sometimes in my yard, as I practice. One night, a coyote sat watching me maybe 10-15 feet away, as I was practicing. It was so awesome. I also had a mama Raccoon with her two babies trailing behind her, casually walk right into my circle of divine light, stop for a sec, look at me, and when I moved, they quickly ran off. I think she thought I was a tree until I moved, then got scared.

I’m a baby witch at the age of just turning 13, I think I may be a cosmic witch or maybe a elemental witch! My grandma was in to this type of stuff. My mom supports me while my stepdad thinks he failed as a parent in allowing me.

Caleigh, witchcraft is transferred through the blood line only. It's not something you can teach out of someone either 😂 so your stepfather didn't fail you. Just like trying to hold back a wave on the beach. Impossible. But it isn't necessarily transferred to everyone in the family.
Stick to white magic, have tea and sit down with granny and ask some questions if possible. 😉 I found out my mom was hiding being a witch for 30 yrs while I was growing up and then I found out my great grandfather was a Shaman. Receiving the calling is very special but it is also a big responsibility.

Another suggestion, don't focus so much on what type of witch you are (because that will come), focus on the history and truth of the matriarchal religions (where our foundation comes from), Metaphysics and energy (which is what everything is made of and what witches are able to manipulate), Personal development (mastering the mind is mastering everything), and meditation, chakras, and connecting with your higher self and Spirit. AND PROTECTION! DO NO SPELL CASTING OR SPIRITUAL COMMUNICATION WITHOUT MASTERING PROTECTING AND CLEARING YOUR SPACE FIRST. Especially when you are young.

I have been practicing since 1978 and I have been down many paths over the years. I have settled on being an eclectic intuitive witch. I use many ritual and spell types that may fall under different categories of witchcraft but mostly I follow my intuition and use my magic to focus it.

I think one good thing about having a title at first is that it allows you to focus on something. There is SO MUCH you can do with witchcraft that it can be very overwhelming; there are simply so many topics you can read and learn about. Identifying yourself as something (even if just temporary) can help you focus in on certain topics and really learn them happily.

how it SOUNDS. but that’s exactly it. it SOUNDS like live role play. but the idea of witches came from ACTUAL witches, people just put a shit ton more fantasy and otherworldly elements into it.
I do a little bit of everything as well lol. I mostly focus on hedge, green, and art witchcraft, but I do also work with the elements, kitchen magic cause I love to cook, and lunar phases. While I am atheist and secular in practice, I'm getting more into the eight sabbats and celebrating them for their spiritual significance rather than the religious aspect.

I am a crystal witch! I collect crystals, subscribe to crystal boxes, tumble crystals, charge crystals, cleanse crystals, wear them, and carry them lol. It is my most dominate label but I do grow plants and herbs but not as passionately. I use my craft in everyday including my spirituality but the crystals are my passion.

I have been an Eclectic Solitary Witch for over 60 years. Since my grandson was interested in becoming a Witch, he is now also a Solitary Witch,. Although he has branched out over the years and has picked the Goddess and Spirit Animal with which he works. He is 24, so I suppose that he could be called an Eclectic Hereditary Solitary Witch, too. Being a Crone now, I work mostly with Hecate.🌹

Magic is invoked all around, if you know what to look for. I have only somewhat recently considered adopting the label "witch" though this is because I have been an unlabeled magical practitioner pretty much my entire life.

I don't think that it's at all realistic to believe any witch is purely all good all of the time. Magic is like nature in many ways. There at times needs to be destruction to have creation. Sometimes the only way to protect yourself does cause mental or physical harm. That doesn't inherently make it "bad" in the way that we are traditionally lead to see good and bad. I am a thousand of shades of gray. My Magic reflects my life and my story. I do not go out of my way to harm others, but I will not allow myself to willfully be harmed either.

My coven are mostly crystal witches and we have one budding medium- I'm still learning- and the funny thing was I already collected rocks before I started to learn about witchcraft! So, even with my parents being closed-minded about it, they don't notice a thing because I already loved rocks! Other than that I'm mostly unlabeled. However, I want to try art witchcraft with my creative writing and infuse it with luck and healing magic for the reader. I think that could help a lot of people and be a special thank you to my audience for the day when I eventually publish.
I love wood, candles, incense, and making my home beautiful. Also going on spirit trips with music, and ghosts and the supernatural. Many things really.

I've always felt that a lot of wiccan exclusive practitioners just exude this energy of gothic drama and negativity, as if they're somehow a higher being for practicing "true witchcraft". Wiccans tend to gatekeep and judge others harshly, so many Wiccan youtube videos I've seen love to make it a point that their way is the only way and any other way is wrong. It's genuinely exhausting and really pushes new witches away from the craft
I think these labels are fun as long as they are not taken too seriously/in a limiting way. They're also great for beginners to get into witchcraft without getting overwhelmed by the large scope of options. I have been practicing for many years and I am absolutely all of these things, but to each their own! Labels can be very empowering and that's cool.

Yes, you're on point, Bex, as usual. When I was younger there was less acceptance and it was easier to simply not label oneself even just claiming the title of "witch". Doing so only led to unnecessary battles of the wits with unarmed persons 🤦🏼♀️. Now I would say that I am an "onion witch"...I have many layers! hehe

Thanks for this, I was a little confused on the terms! These are the few I think sound like me: Green witch, cottage witch, hedge witch, lunar witch! Though I like crystals and still use them in certain practices, I naturally turn to the herbs and greenery.

I just started learning witchcraft. My mom always says that she is a witch. She uses energies to heal both mentally and phisically. She also has the ability to predict death and accidents. One day she was really sick, and she held my hand as we were walking. I was maybe 10. She said that she felt that same energy from my hands that she uses to heal, and that i could be a witch just like her. That was the day i decided that once i will learn witchcraft. And now i am here. I think i am naturalky drawn towards the kitchen, cottage and lunar witch. Maybe also hedge witch since i have always been able to see spirits. I am excited to learn!

I would love a video about urban/city witchcraft! I recently moved out of my grandmother's sweet, quiet home with her beautiful herb gardens, flower beds, shady trees, lots of creatures that live in and enjoy her lush green backyard, I could gush forever about how much I love the energy in her space... but now I've moved with my partner into a high-rise 7th floor condo right in the heart of a busy downtown tourist district where the energy is entirely different. All my windows face north, I have limited balcony space, there's constant noise pollution from sirens and traffic, I can't light candles or burn incense without setting off fire alarms! And the only plants within walking distance of me are the narrow strips of grass between the road and the sidewalk and some palm trees. I've always felt called to witchcraft because of the connection with nature, now I feel so out of my element. I need some tips and ideas on how to embrace this new lifestyle and adapt my practice to it.
Oh wow, that sounds like quite the change! So sorry to hear that you feel so out of your element - but with everything, I am sure that with some adaption it will get better 💚 I made the exact opposite change last year and have always been living in the city (tiny apartments in high-rise buildings, usually downtown with no nature around) - so I do have quite some tips and tricks on urban witchery ☺️ I will share a video very soon. @@MsRita2014 absolutely not :) Many witches practice completely without that aspect. Personally, I don't practice like that either - as I don't believe in the existence of deities or spirits.
@@MsRita2014 you can Google traditional witchcraft practices from your culture of choice as those are usually non-theistic. Or you look up the SASSwitch community on reddit. For atheist witchcraft advice I recommend Sedna Woo on TH-cam. Or you can watch my videos of course for some inspiration, especially vlogs and spells :)
I would definitely call myself eclectic. I love using my tarot cards and have been told my readings are on point. I also like , cooking, baking, to crochet.. didn't realize that was ACTUALLY a thing witchy-wise, and would love to do more with hearth/cottage magic . I consider myself Pagan, but I don't have any specific path yet, as I am still on my journey of discovery, and doing it alone. I've been "into" tarot and the spirit world for years and I've always believed that there is energy in everything so I think I could define myself as an elemental hedge witch. I was really scared that being a witch would mean I would worship things like Satan but now I know that being a witch is free and is a unique experience and a chance to be free and be who I am thank you for this is truly helped
If you are Christian or catholic then to them they would believe that any form of magic is considered evil and sinful, I personally dont believe that if you are a witch you would have to be "atheists" or "agnostic" or "christian" being a witch means that you would have to also leave the religon as well, you cant be sinning and choose to keep doing black magic.
Remember christians and catholics had witch hunts, its a really dark sad part of history but thats the reality.

I've never thought much about labels when it comes to my craft, nor with my gifts I share. I just do what I feel is best, but istening to this, has made me realize I actually pull from all of these. In some part of my day, my practice and my understanding each of these encompasses who I am.

I have never really labeled myself as a specific type of witch, but after seeing this video I think my mind has opened to some new possibilities. I always knew I was sensitive to spirits and my family does a lot of ancestor work, but I had never even thought about using my art in my craft. I cannot believe it never crossed my mind. Thank you so much for making this video, it really spoke to me! It feels both awkward and liberating to write this; I am now 30 years old and lately I've been feeling the need to start re-explore the world of witchcraft. When I was a child, I felt magic all around me. During my teenage years I tried to explore more of this but with the limited resources I had at the time, it seemed that to be able to be a witch you *had* to practice the wiccan religion. I tried for a brief time but I didn't feel it was right for me as I am agnostic.
Especially in these last couple of days I felt many signs pointing me towards this direction again, with a little repressed voice inside of me trying to emerge again. Watching this video and hearing you saying that you don't have to believe in a God(dess) to be a witch almost had me crying - in the best way possible.

My journey has been similar. I was a very magical child, and I tried to explore it as a teen and young adult but lacked resources. Interference from abusive parents and poor mental health also complicated things during my 20s. I turned 30 this year; I also decided to become a witch this year. I don't believe this is a coincidence. I believe forces greater than myself kept me from re-entering the magical world and reconnecting with what I understood intuitively as a child until I was ready. The first sign (that I was able to recognise) came when I was 28. Since then, I've made progress in leaps and bounds. It's been hard getting here, but today, I consider my bad childhood to have been the best thing for me magically.
I also felt anxious about expectations. I had begun to believe in God but didn't feel ready to convert to any particular religion. All of them seemed to have something I disliked or disagreed with (attitudes towards women and homosexuals being the usual problem areas) and, therefore, could not be the ultimate truth. I figured out pretty quickly that no one has access to the ultimate truth, and that while learning and practicing magic entails at least some study of religion, it doesn't mean you have to pick one and convert. It makes very little sense for a magician who was not brought up in a religion to suddenly start practicing one. That's confirmation bias. Religion is, and should be, a lifetime study. Older and wiser religious people understand this, while the younger or less tolerant ones who don't are just looking for an ego boost, or money, or both. The former are capable of accepting you without sharing every one of your beliefs, and the latter are safe to disregard.
I'm very new to witchcraft (one month) and I am glad to know there are so many different ways to practice although I am not too sure where I fit in just yet. I feel more drawn to nature and spend a lot of time hiking and camping solo. I am drawn to elements, particularly water and fire.

Just lately I was inspired to create a fairy garden in my garden with objects mostly from nature & just sitting in it is so relaxing, even my dog loves it lol.

If you’re a pagan you are a witch because you worship demons unknowingly. You must repent of your sins and accept the blood of Christ as your only salvation to be free from the day of judgement.

Women in my family never practiced witchcraft, but we’re definitely a family of witches. Being Protestants so they didn’t really have the language but spiritual forces have always followed us. I don’t identify with a specific label, but my primary form of practice has to do with feminine forces both cosmic and spiritual. I was blessed to be adopted by several powerful goddesses. This reaches across pantheons and involves a wide range of rituals. I love me some herbal offerings! My practice has grown out of me like a pretty little flower. I can’t possibly limit such a thing.
I've always labeled myself as eclectic solitary wiccan for the past ten years but I currently lean more towards "just pagan" and not necessarily wiccan. I love to weave magick into so many small aspects of my life. Way too many labels would fit me so I guess "eclectic" is definitely not a bad way to describe it 😊
My 4yr-old LOVES to help in the kitchen & has taken to saying we're adding "protection" to food we're cooking, instead of saying salt. 🤭 He also has is stir in "happiness" to the Kool-aid when he helps me make it. He makes me so happy! 😊

self-taught, solidarity, grey, and eclectic are the main labels i would have. i’ve been called to study many paths and forms of crafts like chaos, storm, cosmic, green, etc. it’s really nice to see eclectic witches widely accepted. no soul and magic is the dame per person!

My sister and i were both initiated by our mother at 11 and 12. We are 28 and 29 years old, back then those labels weren’t a thing and being a witch meant, in our education, that a little bit of all of those were important. But elemental magic was a bit more important, with astrology and divination (my sister and my mother both are tarot readers, i am more into runes). We got informations with books and storytelling, some internet sites were available but they were weird forums ahahah. But that was interesting, and a bit more complicated than when we were younger!
Another self-taught eclectic witch here :) I identified at least a little bit with every type of witch, especially kitchen, cosmic, hedge and green. Another witch taught me that the etymology of “witch” is simply “wise woman”, and I think that’s beautiful, because it doesn’t box us in.

Hi, I'm Christian, too, but have been born into a family where my mother had what used to be called ESP and I have always been drawn to the unusual, even practiced Wiccan years ago, but I have accepted Jesus as my Savior, and converted to Catholicism. I still believe in magic, but now know all comes from God. So, to wear there are Christian witches makes me think maybe this where I might fit in?
My best friend is a Christian Witch! Christian Witches are just as valid as all other witches.
I'm fairly certain my wife is a Christian witch (I'm a heathen, so this is far from bothering), but I don't think she knows it, you know what I mean...She's had premonitions, and when she says what's going to happen in an event, it happens...She definitely has clairvoyance.
There is no such thing as a christian wich because they hide behind the idea a false god to commit evil acts.

I definitely started my journey as an unknowing CRAFT WITCH - people would always comment how talented I was with hands-on creative projects that required skills I never had before I tried. But I am super glad to have found other ways to practice and feel like I am naturally connected to so many forms of witchcraft. And without needing to label myself, it is so nice to be able to identify practices rather than limit people. Thank you for this video!
I love to learn all I can so I definitely see the limitations of labels but like you said it can help us narrow down what we are specifically looking for. Personally I am very drawn to herbalism so I fall under green witch and hedge witch as I’m quite sensitive to spiritual things. I love all things folklore especially learning about Appalachian traditions where my grandmother and mate are from.
I love this ❤ I have been doing so much research over the last few years regarding witchcraft, as I am self-taught, and to see all the labels come up just made it seem complicating because I like to do MANY of the several different labels that are out there! So I never labeled because I wasn't comfortable with the idea of just one, but this helped clear a lot of things up, and I appreciate how open and respectful you are to the many beliefs as well! I so dislike the labels. If someone wants to do that for themselves, that is your right and if it makes you happy do it.
I am a Witch. That’s it. My mom, grand mom, aunt, great grandma etc were witches. I don’t want to be boxed in due to labeling myself. My journey will no doubt grow and change.
The only label for me may be solitary, but who knows maybe someday I will find a coven.

Not necessarily. You find your path and become the best at it, instead of being all over the place.
Which is why I label myself a Chaos Practitioner. It's almost like an anti-label that means there are literally no limitations, it can take me anywhere.
I’m a beginner witch and I would consider myself mainly a lunar, elemental, and crystal witch. I’m interested in the moon cycles, crystal meanings (Im building my collection and currently have an aqua quartz and a rose quartz), and I use candles and rainwater in some aspects of witchcraft.
After watching this video, I didn’t exactly get what I wanted but I got something just as good.
I came here wanting to know what category I was meant to fall in, hoping I would know what to call myself, but instead I realized: I just don’t fall in a category.
I don’t have to chose.
I’m a young witch, at the age of 11, and ever since I was around 5 I’ve been trying to teach myself how to be a witch. My mother told me her grandma was a witch so it runs in my blood. That fact gave me faith and I’ve been practicing more and more every day but at some point I noticed, I was the only one in my family who hadn’t chosen a title.
I now know what I am. I’m a free witch. Free of titles that define and limit what I can do and who I can be. A baby witch who’s knows he can push past the limits he was told he had and utterly destroy them altogether.
Just knowing what types of witches were there helped me realize that nobody is required to chose a label.
I love this! I've been a witch for like...20 years? Never quite found the right type label, but I do love how helpful and aesthetic the sort of sub labels are :) I love hearing about, almost how one can specialize in the practice, like how you would in the medical field haha. Thanks for this!

I myself am definitely a mixed bag. I love Crystals, working with Herbs and Nature, planting flowers and working with Trees and animals. I'm also very much drawn to fire from candles and a huge love of snow, enjoying the elements of nature again. I've never fully applied magical thought to music or my artwork but I'm very much into all of that so I'll give it a try! To be honest...if I had to pick a top three things.. Crystals, Herbs and probably Art. I've wanted to start making magical little healing things to try and sell since I see myself as a healer. I guess that would make me Eclectic? Since I like a little bit of everything and I do tend to pick and choose stuff that interests me the most. I work with deities like Archangel Michael but also, Apollo and Artemis and it's just an amazing world of wonder. Artemis sends me signs with deer usually! I remember seeing two does one morning when I was full of anxiety before a surgery. It made me feel better and more at ease.

I'm a baby Eclectic witch :3c. I looked into practices and read a book about being a solitary witch. I can't bring myself to be boxed up in a certain category, I can only place what I won't go into (which isn't a lot, tbh). Being a witch for me involves getting myself grounded and connected to nature and the energies around me (theories of mine, haven't tried it out yet). Even if I consider not doing a specific thing, I like to think sometime down the line I could try it out.
At this moment in time I'm interested in candle/fire magic as I feel very calm near a lit flame and bonfires or I feel connected to it and helps me connect deeper in myself o-x. I also like the symbolism of fire: the balance of rebirth and destruction.
I'm currently using my phone to make my grimoire notes and I'm using this video as a guide on what to look for and do more research into, cause I'm definitely eclectic and like/am interested in a bit of everything you mentioned. Love your videos
