It appears that Eugene Sandow was a great body builder from long ago. There is some unusual diet methods he used but going by his physique he must have done something right. He even smoked? Very interesting. Thank you for sharing this rare information. As I'm watching your videos I am learning.
Besides the tobacco, everything else including the beer would have been fine back then compared to food and drink now. There weren't additives and chemicals and junk in the food in his time. It was fresh even the beer
I’m not advocating smoking, but being a former Cigar and Pipe smoker myself I have to say that I never inhaled the smoke into the lungs, in fact most Cigar and Pipe smokers never inhale into the lungs, not to mention that Cigar and Pipe tobacco don’t contain the dangerous chemicals found in Cigarettes, so probably Sandow had no problem indulging himself occasionally.
My diet varies constantly. But for the most part, I eat: Breakfast: 200 gm of oatmeal mixed with 100 gm of pumpkin seeds 2nd breakfast: Scrambled eggs made from 10 eggs Lunch: 400 gm of red meat and 200 gm of spinach Afternoon snack: Two bannas and a protein shake Dinner: 400 gm of cod, 100 gm of jasmine rice and a handful of broccoli, wooked together in olive oil.
I watched one good you're videos the other day on his training regime and I gave it a whirl with a 100 reps. Have to say the pump is pretty phenomenal and actually sore from it, 1st time in my life having a ridiculous pump in my shoulders! I've just got about 50lbs of fat to lose before I see any abs 😂😂 I'll keep going with this until next summer and some diet and see how I feel 😎
In my opinion one should also consider that Sandow also lived in a different time. Milk was farm fresh "raw" milk and Cheese was also farm fresh without the junk and additives that are in most supermarket products. Eggs were also free range and did not come from the so called factory egg farms, like today.
Its good to see this being mentioned! They didn't have the abundant EDC's of today either, many factors we can talk about, high nutrient dense diet, zinc+selenium+copper+magnesium, much more active lifestyle, today's men have to fight more, metaphorically speaking, to keep their testosterone , back then they were in an environment which never hindered their testosterone and overall endocrine health anywhere near as much as it does for one today, if at all.
