Wow....what a very special Toyota Land Cruiser BJ42 that you have...long time go when I visited Australia, I saw BJ42 with yellow color and three wipers!
This car looks great - Ruben, I'm not a 4wd owner yet (planning to become one in a few months time) - What I've seen in your's and 4wd-24/7 videos, you've got a great personality and your work is outstanding. I will def gonna pay you a visit once I get my 4B.
Great to see an almost standard vehicle. I'm a great fan of period correct vehicles. The rims are fairly correct too. The spotties and where you have them also work, although being led is flash. Reuben your car is a real credit to you. Just one thing, don't spoil it. All the best mate
Ruben, can I ask what sort of seats you put into your car?. I have a BJ42 project started and need new seats. Love the color of your vehicle. Mine is an Orange SWB soft top..
just like the setup you've put together Reuben few more little extra's I wish I never sold any of my Cruiser now 1st was a HJ45,HZ75, HD80,HZJ105 dam you dude the 45 was awesome off road shit on highway 4 speed lol ... great content mate
DMW Ruben I've heard you can squeeze a 79 series V8 in those. I remember you used to work with my Dad Barry in Toowoomba in the early 90's for Rick. You want a FNQ sales rep? I keep buying the company t-shirts cos you tight asses won't supply me with a company vehicle. hahahah
Hey Ruben I have a yellow BJ42 as well and im about to put 4 lights on the roof also. I'm just worried about them drawing too much juice. The stock alternator is only rated at 40 amp so once 4 spotties, plus normal headlights, radio and interior bulbs are all on I rekon ill be drawing more power than what I'm putting in. Have you had any dramas running them?? Im dual battery also and I rekon ill be right but I'd be interested to hear from someone else who has gone down this path. Thanks mate!
Hi Buddy Awesome job 💪🏻💪🏻 Did you have to space your Mickey Thomson rims after the Splitties? I’m having a hassle with my ‘75 rim choices. What are the offsets on those rims. Keep smiling while you drive 😁🤝🤝
Awesome bit of kit, keep it basic a lot less to go wrong then, however I think you should change out the old suspension and replace with up to date stuff. May be a rear locker for the trickier stuff but nothing else just leave it...
So is the old girl considered a 40 series, a 42 series or would both be correct? I've never understood how that works. Similarly, can the 76 series and/or 79 series be called a 70 series? Or are the 70 series and 40 series their own cars or...
Looks like a 1980, doesn’t have the fancy dash. I had the exact same one, same colour too. Did cape York, Fraser and Moreton. Sold it unfortunately, biggest regret of my life.
some may ask why Reuben is scared of the dark in the bush ....... have you seen the heads on Shauno and Graham Cahill ? enough to scare even the strongest man 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I had a bj with the 3b 4cyl was a good match for the car I changed the 4speed box for a five speed and put 70 series disc brakes on the front great cars if ya like it rough. Yours is a great example 👍
Love the colour, Mustard is just awesome. Awesome build...
Glad you like it!
Beautiful truck, next time throw some pictures how it looked when you bought it 👍

Right on!
awesome Reuben, these are brilliant looks tops
Cheers!
Love it looks tuff as little beast wish it was in my driveway 😂 love ya work
Absolute beaut of a car! Gotta love the shot of Cape Town at 2:58 - that must have been a hell of a drive from Aus :D
That car with pizza cutter is perfect.
I wouldn't change anything that you have done Ruben I love it. There is one important mod that is needed and that is a 12HT or a 1HDT engine swap.
it would certainly make it more lively.
Worth thinking about
Go a 15B - FTE that would suit the car, and give you a little more modern power 😉
Great video Ruben, I'd love to see a full walk-through on the DMW Pantry/Kitchen
We showed it a little more in this video - th-cam.com/video/QJ_WxkdHauQ/w-d-xo.html
That little monster, is a bit of me! Love it. Nothing to be updated on it.
👍
Great looking truck love what you have done 👍
Glad you like it

Thanks @Stephenja! 🙏
I think it looks awesome mate. Hard to leave things alone when you want to get out and use them. Top job like all your projects and canopies.
🙏Cheers, mate!

Love it. Would just drive as it is. Simple and back to basics

Absolute weapon, credit to you mate
Cheers!

Hi Buddy
Awesome job 💪🏻💪🏻
Did you have to space your Mickey Thomson rims after the Splitties?
I’m having a hassle with my ‘75 rim choices.
What are the offsets on those rims.
Keep smiling while you drive 😁🤝🤝
This thing is a ripper. Good
Stuff mate
Cheers for watching James. 👍
Any issues with the synthetic line with the roller fairlead? I’ve read that the combo is prone to pinching the line in the corners
cool bj man the only thing i would change is me having the keys instead of you cheers for the vid
Awesome bit of kit, keep it basic a lot less to go wrong then, however I think you should change out the old suspension and replace with up to date stuff. May be a rear locker for the trickier stuff but nothing else just leave it...
Cheers Gordon. Yeah i think I will do something with the suspension. It would benefit from it that is for sure.
Mint....let’s see it hit the tracks.

Nice vehicle,I would like the long chassis hardtop, with 1HD-T engine,RHD,manual gearbox, strong and durable suspension. How much might that cost?
Absolutely awesome - would you ever sell it
Not at this stage Arnold. But you never know what will happen in the future hey..
what Motor in it 3B????
Hey guys awesome job, can I be cheeky and ask what the color code is? Have an 80 series here in Ireland that I am restoring.
Love the car Ruben. May I ask how much roughly you have spent on the gear ?
Looks the goods mate
Don’t change a thing 👍🏻
Just curious about your 12 volt setup though?
It is a super simple dual battery system with just a plug for the fridge and solar up on the roof. :)
@@dirtymuddyweekends The KISS method 👍🏻
Show us the engine
Beautiful beast wanna know the brand of roof rack
would love to see you guys do a 4 door BJ42 build
Looks like a 1980, doesn’t have the fancy dash. I had the exact same one, same colour too. Did cape York, Fraser and Moreton. Sold it unfortunately, biggest regret of my life.
What sort of roof rack is that don't know if i missed the name but just having some trouble finding a good rack.
It was a custom made on Jack. :)
@@dirtymuddyweekends Alright thanks.
I love it but I would add a rooftop tent
Would be nice!👍
@@dirtymuddyweekends The drifta rooftop tent is awesome
why the hell did you skip the entire camp kitchen bit?
It’s missing 2 things mate Whistle and soot air box and snorkel 👌🏻
haha noted!
Toyota LC BJ42 impianku...tolong berikan untuk,,,,!
some may ask why Reuben is scared of the dark in the bush ....... have you seen the heads on Shauno and Graham Cahill ? enough to scare even the strongest man 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Maybe fit a 200 series engine into it
I had a bj with the 3b 4cyl was a good match for the car I changed the 4speed box for a five speed and put 70 series disc brakes on the front great cars if ya like it rough.
Yours is a great example 👍
Cheers Rexy. Some good ideas there. thank you
I would change the rego to my name.
A great unit but I'd put a snorkel on it, and didn't the real old yeller die in the movie??
