Kia Soul Tow Hitch Install (W/ Wiring)

- I've decided to put off buying another truck for a little longer. For now, to carry bikes, Home Depot runs, and possibly towing a jet ski, the Kia is on tow duty.
The hitch is a class 1 Curt bolt on PN: 11110
Wiring harness is a Curt plug and play PN: 56222

exhaust hangar pliers are a wise investment, they let you take off, and put of hangars in about 3 seconds
Watching you zip tie the wires to the hitch had me concerend about rocks and other debree getting kicked up and damaging the wires. You might want to use a section of wire loom fror the extra protection along the hitch.
I routed mine higher up inside the bumper along with using wire loom.

I just bought a 2020 Soul and this helps a lot for my Draw-tite hitch. Did Curt recommend torqueing the mounting bolts? Draw-tite does. Also, Curt recommends using a strap to stabilize non-trailer items like bike racks and cargo boxes. Draw-tite doesn't. I don't see how on a Soul the strap can be secured to the vehicle. As for the electronic module, I've seen a video where it can be stuck to the inner panel of the rear light so you don't have to jam it down below.
ninemilliondollars I found some hitch tighteners on Amazon that worked well for a cargo carrier. I needed two because I had to use an adapter as the carrier was 2”. It really helped tighten up most of the slop. Good call on the module location.
Maybe they meant 30 minutes from when the car is ready to just attach the hitch, but it sounds good to put on the packaging.

I didn't use plans, I put the saw upside down on the floor and built around it.

Anyone know if a base model 2018 soul could handle an aluminum boat, motor and trailer? Total wieght including trailer 1400lbs
