I tried to reach out many times, apologize if I upset her in some way, but she blocked me from every way I had to contact her. Last time I saw her was a vacation my daughter & I went on w her family in 2015. 😢We had such a great time & were supposed to go again the next yr. We did, but not together, & didn't see each other. Epictetus : If you wish to improve appear clueless or stupid. This takes the burning fuse out of conversations or discussions. It also gives time to think through what the other person has said or the judgement they or oneself makes of the opinion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    • @TheStoicBeacon-TGG
      @TheStoicBeacon-TGG 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's an insightful take from Epictetus. Sometimes appearing clueless is a sign of wisdom because it defuses tension and allows us to genuinely understand others. It’s almost like removing the need to "win" a conversation and instead focusing on growth. Have you ever tried approaching discussions this way? How did it change the dynamic for you?

      From my own point of view, you need to invest smartly if you need the good things of life. so far i've made over $255k in raw profits from just 6 months into the market from my diversified portfolio strategy and i believe anyone can do it you have the right strategy, mutual funds takes long time but investing smartly is the key for short term. Most of us tend to pay more attention to the shiniest position in the market to the cost of proper diversification.

I can correctly say she's worth her salt as a financial advisor as her diversification skills are top notch, because i see that in her results as my portfolio grows by averages of 10 to 15% on a monthly basis, unlike i can say for my IRA which has just been trudging along, my portfolio just mirrors what she trades and not just on some particular industries of my choosing.

      It's wonderful to hear your appreciation for the research behind this video. Stoicism and modern self-help philosophies do share common ground, like focusing on mindset and resilience. However, Stoicism often emphasizes accepting external events as they are, rather than trying to control or change them. It might be interesting to explore how these differences influence personal growth. What are your thoughts on this distinction - do you feel acceptance or change plays a bigger role in your own self-improvement journey?

The battles within oneself - such as overcoming fears, doubts, negative thoughts, or harmful habits - are often more challenging than external struggles. Overcoming these internal battles can lead to a more profound sense of accomplishment and strength.

Any thoughts on this piece of wisdom I came up with myself (others my have come up with it separately too): "live each day as if you were at the end of your life, your death bed basically, and God (or the universe) came to you and offered you the opportunity to live this single day over again". Is that any good?

      Yes, this is great wisdom. In Islam, sleep is considered "The Minor Death" and every day, waking up to live another day is a gift from God.
      Your own quote reflects in stoicism through Memento Mori, I have not seen these exact words or phrases but the sentiment and the wisdom is there.
      "Live each day as if you were the end of your life, returning to your grave at the end. When you wake up, be thankful that God provided you with another day to live. Will you return to your usual grave or a new, eternal one?"
