    Curious how much this added to the tongue weight... Im going to do mine with wood, but removing the mesh first (what a chore!) I just sold a larger trailer with a wooden floor because it was so heavy to move around (5x10 w/15" wheels), so hoping i dont make this one as heavy to move around.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can still move it around easily. I wasn't concerned about extra weight as all I use it for is a golf cart and a lawn tractor.

    Did you drill through the thicker frames to put the screws threw? Or did you just use the mesh?
    I am attempting to do one myself, and i want to do it through the frame, believing that it should allow it to be more sturdy then just the mesh

    @stevea6722 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Might not look quite as nice but I think I would start at the sides with full width boards and work to the middle. That way only 1 board would need to be ripped. Plus you might be able to pull the trailer frame to square when you get started that way, although squaring the frame after the fact might affect the axle positioning and subsequent tracking. Just something to think about.

    The make self taping trailer screws lust for that application, no pre drilling required, also next time just start with a full board on one side and work your way over that way you only have one rip, the 45 cut will also rot very quickly, not a good idea

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Those self tapping s crews lose their coating when threading in and then rust off............Many years of construction experience proves it. The 45 will not rot. This is treated lumber that has also been coated and sealed.
