HI LAURA JANE! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! I was wondering if you spiral-bound the 1950s vintage beauty guides from Glamourdaze on your own? If not where did you purchase the spiral-bound book you use in this video, please?
you prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my gf these days :)
A part of me wants to recreate everything from these vintage routines, but the other part of me obsessed with Dr Dray (and now with the best skin of my life) is cringing.
Yeah it's so cool. But since the items she used has fragrances and some of the natural ingredients actually triggers my sensitive skin. So, maybe it's good to just watch 😅
CONGRATULATIONS on you New ROSE cold creme !!!!!!!! And CONGRATULATIONS to YOU. I Wish you all the success in all of your projects. I have been following your channel for a while , and is gets BETTER and BETTER!!!!!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !!! Thank you ;-)
I love your research into beauty history and putting all these videos together! But wow - there's a reason I think why a lot of women ditched all these steps in skincare years later lol.
Very nice tutorial! I think pressing the fingers on the face in certain directions probably has a similar effect to the lymph-flushing tools used today, the Gua sha facial scraper, and the jade or rose quartz facial rollers.
I used to use my grandma’s cold cream whenever I’d sleep over at her house when I was about 10, but I always removed it with a damp washcloth. I tried tissues, but they would fall apart.
Tissues irritate my skin too much. In fact, I currently have a DIY emulsifying cleansing balm in the works that you can (in theory) easily rinse off with water. Let's see how it turns out!
Instead of witch hazel one could soak a cotton round in potato juice. It removes the dark circles, I do it every couple of months. I grate potatoes, use for hash browns later, and take all the juices (may need to squeeze some) and soak enough pads to sit on my eyes for 7 days and I keep in my fridge. I let sit for 15-20m at a time then wash my face as normal. It works sooo good and if you have really bad dark circles you may wanna go for 10 days at a time till it gets to a manageable point to cut back some days.
I tried using the same technique with sum of my skincare products. I have Ponds cold cream I use it to take off my makeup. I have normal to dry skin and I must say that using the cream with the instructions u provided my skin was very hydrated! Thanks Laura! I will purchase the toner and the soap you used I saw that toner at Harmon I hope they have the soap too!
You have your Marilyn earrings on too! I really like those. I tried the massage while you were doing it, and it feels wonderful. Will have to try the eye treatment. It looks refreshing.

Lovely Video Laura ❤ I love the design on the cold cream, who does the art on the packaging is a great artist ❤ I hope you're doing well. I watched 'The notebook' yesterday, and I love Allie's costumes, the ending is quite sad but it was a good film.
@@Laurajaneatelier You're very welcome, for the Vintage Doll lipsticks, if it'd be alright I'd love to see a Pattie Boyd inspired lipstick Keep up the good work ❤ PS I would recommend watching some of the Beatles films such as 'A Hard Day's Night' and 'Help', I think you'd like the hair and costumes
Aww I would totally buy some makeup from your line! Im a fool for historical accurate anything! Too bad I don't have a job yet (still in highschool) lol 💖💖💖
These steps are so random I feel like they don’t make any sense lol like why did you have to do the cold cream twice wipe it off then use witch hazel unless the cream was supposed to act as a barrier because witch hazel is very harsh especially for women with dry skin I mean once and awhile it’s ok but it it can be stripping
Witch hazel was usually reserved for oily skins. Women with dry skin would either uses a rose or moisturizing toner or just skip the toner and lather a rich emolient face cream.
Pretty nails, Laura! Very retro. Did you do them yourself? Omg you should do a retro style nail video! Shaping them and grooming and painting them!! And using different colors that were popular in every decade!
Great video that book you put together with step by step instructions is really nice. Congrats on your new cold cream! I like the smell of Rose's too! Question are your lipsticks dark enough for a deeper tone of skin? I really love the Marilyn Monroe inspired lipstick. Sometimes I mix my lipstick if not dark enough. Continued success!
Thanks so much! Yes it is great for darker toned skin. If you go to vintage doll Instagram and look at the stories under customers you can see examples on a wide variety of skin tones
The book you bought and used from Glamourdaze, did you download it and print it yourself? Where did you go to have it wire bound? I guess they don't sell it in paper form. Thanks, Colette
The facial machine you used my skin is too sensitive for the brush it irritates,i use towel with plain to see scruber type strans do good for me instead. He will never know if or not judgement. It's ashame i have to say he.
Hope this doesn’t sound like a dumb question, but how did you print the Glamourdaze vintage guides? I have them and would love to have them in printed form.
Laura when you put on your cold creams do upward strokes to the skin, GOD made us of the dust of the earth making us alive with HIS POWER,molding your skin for maintaining a longer and younger spearance for years to come.
Soap is not good for acne prone skin. I had severe acne for years and was told to use soap. (This was in the 70s.) It made my skin worse because my skin produced more oil. I haven't used soap on my face for years. It makes my skin feel awful and it clogs my pores.
I really think that your videos would be more credible if you researched proper pronunciations. I've noticed that you commonly mispronounce names of people, products, and etc. Please know that my objective is not to bash you, but to try to help; I enjoy your videos. I'm certain that they could be even more enjoyable (and you'd sound much more knowledgeable-like someone who knows what they're discussing even more☺) if you do a little research before making a video☺ believe me: i really am not trying to offend you. I didn't know how to get a hold of you besides commenting. Thank you for making videos; they're fun and delightful❤ **(please forgive me if the reason is dyslexia or other).
You could not be more rude. " I'm trying to help" usually follows an insult. If it's not up to your " standards" , go somewhere else. This is a beautiful , uplifting channel. Any hack can just criticize ; easier than going the work yourself , right ?

You proably needed to use those good thick tissues rather the thinner ones.

Such a well-made video! I would love to see one from the 1940s

Could you please make a video about Mary Kay products?
hi! I'm so curious--why do you think in vintage routines they always used tissue to wipe off or blot cleanser/cold cream/lotion etc?
Ashley Karynna Hall they often removed makeup at their bedroom vanity table and not at the bathroom sink.
