Very proud to know that the traditional costume of Maharashtra was selected for first episode...it personifies bravery,courage,beauty...proud to be a Maharashtrian
Me too
Har jagah caste state ki baate karna zaruri hai. Proud to be indian bolne me sharm aati hai kya
@nick p ancient India mein north Indian women yaani Aryans hi civilized the... pakke ghar ,girl's aur women purre kapde mein ,roads,agriculture, import export business etc.... jabki baaki desho mein aur states mein kapda ,pakke ghar bhi nahi hote the...
@nick p Bhai loot ne k liye kya tha,krupa kar ke bataiye?
Aaj Karnataka tak sabhi Indo aryan hi hai...
Even Maharashtra k log bhi....
@nick p i never said any thing against Dravidians ,never looked down or never judged on skin tone.....beauty is our inner soul not skin tone( less or excess melanin ) in fact i am proud to see how they are carrying the Hindu culture and rituals, education etc...
Looks like you are very impatient to judge others mentality...
Can we just appreciate the impeccable editing, and very subtle way of explaining such a flawless history !! Such a great efforts team ! Keep going and keep educating
Nauvari sarees is a life style of Maharashtrian women ..in South you can see geometry of earth is no stable so many mountain n hills ..so women here can't wear ghagra n all n walk through jungle .in nauvari it is very easy for them to climb moutain ..n also riding on horce as they always have to run from village to hilly areas to save themselves from Mughal or Nizam attackers ...
Actually it is not नौ (hindi) but नऊ (Marathi)
In South India n Maharashtra women not hide themselves behind ghunghat they used to riding horses n go on war for their nation ... from Jijabai laxmibai Ahilyabai to sawitribai(first woman teacher) n Aanandibai (first woman dr) ..
@nick pMaharashtra is located at West side of India. So technically we are west Indian or just Western.
@@anusayakulkarni6773 He meant both regions. Culturally, MH is more South than North, I feel. In any case there were many warrior queens in the South that he did not name. Rani Abbakka Chowta (and her daughter and granddaughter), the two Rani Chennammas, Rani Velu Nachiyaar, Rudrama Devi of the Kakatiya dynasty are just some names I am aware of as a Mumbaikar. I am sure there are more.
@@EagleOverTheSeaWe are neither South or North.
Ghunghat is mostly sindhi, Gujarati and Rajasthani culture because of heat and sand
Let's buy our traditional wear. And that too from local Weaver, local shops.
Besides this,some drapes of coastal area and that of farmer and koli communities ensure support for lumbar region of body,hence koli married women wear 12 yards saree ,that extra cloth acts like lumbar belt for secured carriage of heavy fish baskets.
Thanks for sharing 👍
It is also worn by
Kerala=Namboodiri
Andhra=Kuchipudi
Tamil=Kosuvam-Kandagi
Karnataka=Madhava & Ling ayat
Odissi Dress
Chuidadar=North India
Patiala=Punjabi
Even SriLankan Buddhist women dress
Salwar originated from 9yards saree
Yess 9 vaar saree is the great grandmother of all this differences

Wow
It's kittur rani chennamma... not chelamma...
इस series में voice over किसने किया है?
बहुत अच्छी आवाज हैं. 😊
Finally Epic Channel has brought another interesting show for binge-watching. The wait is over. Thank you Epic Channel for entertaining us again.
Nauvari drape of saree is the only saree which was meant for working women of India. This is the drape of saree which is meant to run ,jump in ...perfect for active women. Its sad saree is now limited to only festive occasions. Cotton sarees for indian climate is the most freeing garment in the whole world.Its a day to day fabric which was meant to be worn without safety pins.
मगर नऊवारी को bollywood ने below standard किया, i love पेशवाई नऊवारी it my tradition
From Pandharpur ❤️
Correction on Rani kittur chennamma . You spelled it as " chelamma" Epic please use correct spelling of historical figures
Lovely Epic. But you left out the other types of South Indian traditional saree.....Nauvari is an evolution of Dhoti:) And that shows how equal men and women of Ancient India were, I love this show, thank you
@Ashwini Desai Yeah but that one barely gets attention, actually it's neither here not there, it's neither 6 nor 9, it's 8, probably like Bengali one, pretty unique. Would love another video
@Ashwini Desai I just said I would love another one, I didn't say I want it tomorrow. Also this is a TV channel not a TH-cam Channel
@Ashwini Desai it's not that popular bit tries to bring good quality Indian things. It's just 2rs per month, if you can afford, it really does have a lot of good quality content
Hum youths ko nauari ko apni lifestyle me shamil rakhna chahiye
Hum bhool nhi sakte
I have decided that afetr my marriage i will wear nauari saree in daily use

It's Kittur Rani Channamma not chelamma
Finally some fresh content......thanks team Epic
Rani kittur chennamma hai naam not chellammma
Saree is a allrounder outfit ❤️
Nauaari saree or saree doesn't ask you to fit in, it's just drape or embrace you in whichever body shape you have🤩💖
Its very nice and very informative episode. I proud to be a bhartiya and that to be a maharastrian. Actually what you have shown about koli sari is totally wrong. Koli womens were the sari in different way not like inthe picture you have shown. Modern artist have spoiled the original koli culture that to by modern veshbhushakar or sari drapers. They goes for shortcuts and give the lavanni sari to koli sari by taking / removing out the pallu and over that taking a vodhani . its wrong.
l always like epic chanel, it always give very knowlegeble and interesting information.
I am becomingbig fan of maharastryan saree wearing style
You don't say about rudramadavi is southindia super queen of kakatiya kingdom of telangan hyderabad say about next time

Omg, this is awesome! Can you please make w/ Eng subtitles? 🙏🏽I don't understand Hindi 😭
They have added subtitles
ऐसी ही goldsmith की कहानी बताये
With due respect it's Kittur Rani "Chennamma" Queen of kittur
Also ahilya bai holkar

Nauari saree is the best and equivalent to todays jeans
Please research the topic well before presenting...koli women do not wear nine yard sarees. They wear 12 yard sarees and the manner of draping is also very different
How to identify nauvari saree
That was amazing 😍great piece of information
Video on Marathi community
Thank you Epic channel for creating this series.. Always had a curiosity about our country's ancient n historic wardrobe.. Its origin and stories... This series has all the answers to it. Thanks again to the whole team..
Tarabai and Jijabai also were great warriors wearing this style .
9 yards saree and dhoti has kaccha in common. A kaccha is believed to be tucked at the point where muladhar chakra is said to be located in body.
A knot at muladhar chakra is said to be good while chanting mantra and good for spiritual progress
Very happy to watch that you included madisar.
9 yards style saree is the Valuable Ornament of Maharashtrian woman.
Proud to be Maharashtrian Marathi...........
This is one of the best channel,and I would not mind to watch all the episodes in a single day...
Navari Saari was worn by every woman in Telangana and probably andhra also in previous generations. I am still curious to know what made women shift to today's style of saree wearing, which is not right.
Modern day saree style (nivi saree) also originated in Andhra Pradesh
Love ur channel at sight ❤️🙏

But how women go washroom in this outfit
Once the kashta is removed,it is same as a normal 6 yards saree
Good question.....
But your question hurts me....
🤓 DIY
@Ambika Singh I hope your dadaji or nanaji would be wearing a dhoti.
You can ask them how they manage in this outfit in washroom.
Nauvari draping is similar to dhoti.
You will get your answer....

Thank you so much for making a series on Indian clothing. India has such a rich culture and history which apart from certain areas is yet to be explored. Dress is one such area.
Historical clothing has such a rich and vivid background it's sad that not much is talked about.
I often see on yt foreigners who hv knowledge in their country's historic clothing making video about it. It's so interesting and informative however I hardly see any Indian TH-camr doing it. So I am very glad that Epic took the effort.
