So what stopped the Govt post independence to remake these beautiful places and restore their past glory? Do we not have the money or the basic sense to glorify what we already had?

More than Hyderabad and Chennai. Pune is India's automobile hub. You should visit sometimes. Best livable city in India from last 5 years. 2nd safest city in India after Surat. There's more you should come and Visit Pune.
I used to live close to Pashan Lake for almost 5 years. I Studied engineering in Pune. 5-year in India and Pune was one of the best times in my whole life. I really wish to visit again soon.

I cannot list the reasons why I decided to move to Pune. Coming from Dehradun, I have found Pune as my second home. Humble and nice people, with PATIENCE.
