You kicked those oil lines ass at the end. My dad would have been throwing whole saw across the shop after 2nd slip😄

No need to remove the trigger assembly. Just remove spark plug, tuck the wire in the hole, unhook the kill switch wire, then slide the motor out a little until you can unhook the carburetor linkage. Works fine.
    Good filming.

yup... i only knew this cuz i just watched leon do it not 5 minutes ago... he said you dont need to take it off and he removed the spark plug first

Dip those oil and fuel lines in a cup of hot water. It relaxes them momentarily so they slip right on then tighten naturally as they cool.

There was a few people who got the oil lines right and the duckbill valve .if he didn't that things going to smoke and load up .the throttle he could have pushed the motor out and it would have pop off .but other then that good job he reminded me of myself the first time I did my xl 2 , super xl .

Did you compare the metering diaphragm's center nub that intersects with the lever to what you took off? Some of the aftermarket diaphragms have the nub too high for the HDC lever in the metering chamber. The result is constant flooding. Like you I had to replace the metering diaphragm because of that flooding. I went with Walbro parts the second time around. The second circuit plate gasket that comes in the kit is for the Single Adjusting screw HDC carb used on these engines. Good Job.

To put a hose over a nipple,....put a hose in a coffee cup of boiling water,... just the tip it softens and lubricates it.
I would have taken a small storage tub and a paint brush and added some gasoline in it and cleaned everything up.
I used to use paint thinner on everything but now 87 gas is cheaper.
For 2 cycle mix I use Sunoco 90 (octane from the pump that says no ethanol)
I don't know what year that saw was from but everything is straight screwdriver.
And the oh shit moment for me was when he took off the trigger assembly,.....never done that but I bought 4 saws off Ebay and one has a hard trigger pull and I hate it.
All of my saws were plastic,....so thats what I buy.
The last video I watched the dude had a needle valve gauge.

I bet you had to go back later and put the duckbill/check valves in the hole in the fuel tank and on the short oil line didn't you? Im working on one right now that needs hoses and duck bills. With no or a bad one in the oil tank the saw will smoke like crazy because it will suck bar oil into the motor and burn it in the combustion chamber it also wont oil the chain or at least not very well if it does

Had them on order for my shop at the time of this recording. But yes had to after they came in. You can install them just buy removing the recoil cover.

@@outdoorpowertech7738 Mine does not have a air filter cover neither and every video I have seen of the Super 2 shows them as not having one either . I haven't checked the parts diagram yet to see if the had one from the factory or not

In regards to the sprocket nutt during reassembly on these xl's... is there a torque spec? Or just a good snug up will do. Thx

    • @shoa4566
      @shoa4566 ปีที่แล้ว

When you are taking this particular saw apart you don't have to remove the sprocket nut. The bar is held on by one nut unlike a still or forest king which is held on by two.
