Many years ago my grandma used to tell me that, in the old days in the mountains around my grandma’s village (south China), there were a lot of ridiculously tasty mushrooms, they were so tasty that people picked them, cooked them with oil, saved them in jars and used them for seasoning (like chicken stock). This video shows exactly what my grandma used to describe!
Her life is full of hard work, I want to live like that. And her life is full of Nature, I also wanna live like that. Just think about waking up in the morning where the air is cool like living in a rainforest then you hear the birds chirping, water flowing, Just letting nature do its thing. That foreal feels like the type of life I wanna live. Away from the cities where theres polluted air, loud horns of cars, people yelling at each other, drunk people fighting, I just wanna breathe in nature and learn new skills.
I read she had a very hard life when young. Her dad left, mom died, lived with grandparents, where she learnt to do farm work. Left at 14 for odd jobs to support herself. Returned to the farm when her grandpa passed to be with grandma. I spent a week in Sichuan last year, visited Dujiangyan, beautiful Juizhaigou, Aba, and neighboring Tibetan villages, but didn't visit Ziqi's hometown Mianyang. It is also in the vicinity of the disastrous 2008 earthquake, where many towns and villages were completely destroyed and over 80,000+ perished. The scars of the earthquake are still visible everywhere. The people there are very resilient, hard working and humble. I have great appreciation of their culture and friendliness. I wish them well.

I remember this dishes cooking by my grandma when was alive. She used to cook this one a lot when the season come and save it for months to eat. This dishe is not easy to make, its took my graundma hours and hours to do it (from washing the mushrooms, and while cooking you need to keep eyes on fire, i still remember she told me about the fire, if you not care enough muchrooms can burn easily and too low heat the taste is not right etc). She will cook every once a year and everytime after she cooked this, her cloths were wet from sweat. I just would like to thank you for how you are creating these videos, its must take you many effects and times to make it look so smothless and beautiful.
