I just lost my grandma last week, seeing her grandma and how they interact with each other remind me a lot about my grandma. I love and miss my grandma. One day we will see each other in Heaven.

My grandma grew as a child in small rural town in Guatemala. She came to visit us back in 2018 during spring time. I swear finding food for her to eat was hard. She would not eat eggs from the store, milk because it tasted like plastic bottle, cheese was like glue to her, rice made out of plastic, chicken didn’t taste like chicken to her, etc. One day driving by a park she saw a flower known as “Adams needle” she literally made us stop and get that flower. She woke up so happy the next day at 4:00am to cut the flower because according to her if you do it very late during the day causes the flower to taste more bitter than it usually is. She also made me go find farm raised eggs and to make sure they were same day and if I could to grab them straight from the chicken. Anyway she made a breakfast out this flower with eggs. It was so delicious, I will never thought such flower could be delicious 😋

Many of this dishes are similar I believe in most part of the world of course here in Italy when made flour from chestnuts for a sweet cacke or use the chestnuts with sugar for the maroon glace or you can stay cooked on the wood flame anyway the results are aesthetical different but I think the flavor is similar
thank you for saying; as a food blogger she's showing us the many ways to do seasonal dishes. It's a great idea, paring back cooking to link with the seasons again. Many places in the world still do, but looking at this from a western point, it's a daily cooking changer. If you already know how to cook, her videos are about letting you into the many styles of seasonal, inexpensive, well thought through, dishes. And how to plate them up in a charming way. You have made a good point.

Dear heart, your English is better than many for whom it is their first language. I agree with your sentiment. I spent a lot of time with my grandmas before she passed at 94 - cooking, gardening and listening to her stories of life during a simpler time. She lives in my heart every day, I hear her wise words in my head, and I am grateful for all she taught me.

I've just learnt about Liziqi's life story and I truly admire her. Even though you had a rough childhood, you still carry a beautiful selfless inner soul. Keep the work going, we all love and support you!
She's like Cinderella. She lost her mother at a very young age, and then lived with a cruel stepmother. As a child, she often slept on benches or in a cave. She dropped out from school early just to earn a living. She is tough.

From the sources I've read, Liziqi's family was poor and she didn't have a happy childhood. Her parents divorced at her young age. Then her father remarried and she lived with them until he died too.
Then she moved to her grandparents' village house where she learned all the skills, from cooking, fishing, handicrafts, etc.
She dropped out of school at 14 to support herself by working various jobs in the city. Years after, she returned home when her grandma was ill. She became famous with her unique styles from 2017.
