finally someone that dispatches their fish properly, humanely! none of that throw them in an ice box/the deck and let them slowly suffocate... causing suffering and ruining your meat... I'm a hunter and always compare it to trapping a rabbit and just letting it die in a bucket of water, we just do it to fishes cause they look so alien and most people don't empathize. Instant sub! I stopped watching most fishing channels for this reason alone. Hope you include more of this footage on your videos as it spreads awareness.
Thanks Mario! Couldn’t agree more! was one of the most important things to learn when we started fishing, be aware of what you fish or hunt, will bring out a few more fishing dedicated vids soon☺️🙏
Impressive with the fish. It's so rare to see good knife skills. From what I understand slowing the boat down makes it much easier to bring in the fish.
oh thanks so much for the help! really appreciate your inputs and cant thank you enough for taking the time to watch it! the fish was really tasty and the Atlantic crossing...cant even describe how beautiful the Atlantic ocean is!
Hehe, totally how it was (nearly every day at the crossing;) the big fish is jet to come;) Thanks Tiago, was really amazing to do a swim in the atlantic ocean during the crossing, we loved it!
Great video! I could almost feel the water on my own skin while you guys where surfing behind the boat! Had similar experience about 20 years ago in France near Cannes - no Go Pro at that time but lucky have some "old fashion-pictures" of my then 7 and 9 year old son and daughter doing exactly the same! Doing it in the middle of the ocean is of course best level!
Thanks Dirk, we couldn't agree more! There are still a few swims to come as Greta felt the same=) (and the wind was really low so we had a lot of fun out there=) Nice! It is so great to share those moments with your family! we are really happy about the videos, they allow us to relive the hole experience and we are getting really sentimental😅⛵️
thanks richard! we had so much time during the crossing and documented everything😅 will try to share as much as possible about the atlantic crossing 😉 yees, and better hooks - we found out that sailfish needs stronger hooks😆🎣
Super nice episode! Sooo beautiful fish and so happy to see that you have really thought about the best way to kill it. ☺️ And hey, I wanna do that swimming behind the boat too! 😉
Yea the method for the fish is really the best, especially compared to all the traditional fishing with nets etc 🐟 we will for sure do! a bit of atlantic ocean on our mini crossing you will get for sure 🥰
"The best way to kill fish". "Holy crap!" (Frank Barone) (a character from an American/USA TV comedy series). These "foo-foo sailors" were quite obviously born into so much money so as to have no conception of what most other people have to put out to survive. Killing a fish, a creature with no self-consciousness at all, is a God-ordained way for people to feed themselves. Or do you think the Jesus of your Bible was wrong when He had His fisherman-disciples to cast out their nets? Why not do something to improve the "not so fortunate's" lives? Why not equip as many coastal people as you can with their own $1600 (USD) air-launched spear gun systems? After all, everyone's Daddy buys them a fully-equipped, $85k sailing vessel to keep them from getting bored, don't they gggetter?
Yes, we are normally not big fish eaters (we rarely catch some and decided to not buy fish and meat anymore since we live on the boat) but during the crossing it really helped us to prolong our food, so thankfull about it! 🙏
You have to let out the sheets immediately. The boat speed creates too much tension. Get rid of the sails and start the motor. You may have to back up to keep the tension down unless your using humongous thick fishing line.
Oh yes, we learned the hard way😆 first thing now is to take the sheets down and stop the boat...too sad to loose the fish and worth it in the end☺️ hopefully the next bite soon, didn’t catch a single fish since the crossing😆
@@WhenSailing thanks. So interesting. I heard the German words. I saw the Italian flag and I figured you were from the north of Italy. Thanks for confirming. I am enjoying your videos. Danke. Grusse aus Nord Irland. 👍🇬🇧👍

Hello :) we have not been very active the last months 🙈 but we are ramping up again and have some videos in the pipeline for the next months 😍⛵️ today we will start posting again starting with a BoatTour ⛵️ hope you enjoy it ☺️
Just incredible tasty! Normally we only put mozzarella on there, and a few cheeses but no fish or meat but it turned out really good! 🥰 we got the best fish during the altantic crossing 🙏
thanks ashley! in the beginning we were to scared to break lines and rods (one broke actually in greece with a huge tuna on it) but we are getting better at it! slack was definitely to much but also the hook was not the best i think...so right! thanks for watching! 🎣
If you are just trolling using level line reels , you may want to consider some 100lb. braided line ( spider wire) …attach a 500lb ball swivel to a 500lb mono leader line of about 6ft to lure…if you are sailing at under around 5knots you can use a rapalla lure with twin treble hooks…these come with crappy hooks , but you can change to stainless steel …anything faster you’ll need something else…set your drag at about 10% of line weight which would be around 10 lbs using 100 lb line…let your rod, drag, and tackle do the rest…oh, and keep your rod up …that even applies when you aren’t fishing… : )
thanks a lot for the great information! we have a few rapalas on board but as you mentioned the hooks are pretty bad (and rusty now;) we used them in the beginning more often, had to use a weight to keep them down (high waves and speed is not regular with our sailboat) and lost too many weights till now (loads of seaweed floating around the last years) so we mainly use wiliamson style octopus lures, we have one family of 5 with a big flapping bird and then another small bird with another lure=) hehe thanks a lot for everything!

What the length of your Sailboat ?
it’s 39ft ⛵️
It's a really nice trip, I wonder what size the boat is, feet?

it’s a beneteau oceanis 393 :) we have a full boattour video up if you like ⛵️
Great video. Are you German speaking Italians ? Thanks.

Grusse aus Nord Irland. 👍🇬🇧👍
It was almost certainly a Marlin that got away, not a swordfish. marlin are mostly pelagic ( surface) whereas swordfish are mostly found deep
thanks joe! even if we saw the sword? still haven’t caught one, a few times on the hook but always jumped off immediately afterwards😆

Hold the rod up brother…let the tip and drag do most of the work…looks like both got away because of slack line…always another , bigger one to chase!…

Try using weedless spoons….you can probably pull at higher speed than rapalla and they won’t hook weeds….work great if you get the right size
Why all the beebs, something wrong with you recording?
aah not sure where you heard beeps? thanks for letting us know! will check it out🙏
