I did this trek in 2017. A little different stage-composition but the same anti-clock-wise direction. Thank you for sharing this and showing other stages to do on my second time around, before I close my eyes permanently. Very nice video🙂
You can do both by the time Man. I did TMB and i’m planning to do the TMR next year. Check also Alta Vias(AV2 is amazing). TMR btw seems a less crowded to me by the videos
Nice video. I just did the TMB and now I'm looking for something with fewer people, I'm also studying variants to lengthen the route. I hope I can do it next summer.
Hi ThorcIanTrek, I am think to do the TMR too this year (Sept 2023), and wanted to ask you a bit about the Glacier crossing at the Theodul pass. I see you went alone and that some people were going on the glacier with bikes! Would you say it is safe enough to do it that way or would you recommend, after having done it, to get a guide? Many thanks in advance
Firstly I will say that I felt safe, and went up with caution, BUT a glacier is a changing ice cap that moves and changes all the time. Secondly if you are in doubt about your safety you should consider a guide or talk to local people. Have a great hike 👏🏻
Really enjoyed that. Looking at thru-hiing the Alps this Summer on probably the Haute Route but add this one to the to do list. Looks very quiet - what time of year?
It was August… and the weather was perfect, TMR is not as known as TMB so much less people on the trail, but it is also a bit harder, meet many day hikers and a few going the same way and route as me. I am going for the dolomites this summer 🏔 Alta via 4 and 5 I hope 🤞🏻 I’m sure there will be a video 😉
@@ThorclanTrek look forward to it. I'll be on the Alta Via 1 in early July myself now. The Haute Route will wait, I didn't have the time needed unfortunately.
I am doing the part of the TMR from Saas-fee to Zermatt and then the five lakes connected to it! I am wondering how cold it gets at night as we are going with a tent, at what time of the year did you do it?
I went in august and the weather was nice, but in the mountains in 2000 meters it can easily get below freezing in the night so bring a good sleeping bag 👍🏻
Super nice video!!! congratulations on this. Do you think the TMR route is doable for 2 inexperienced hikers? (young, fit and enthusiastic though). We are looking for a challenge and we were wondering if the TMR route is safely doable.
Hello Mads, how are you going? I'm planning to do the TMR on August, so I was searching for information and I found your video. So beautiful, thanks for sharing. I'm curious about the wild camping and I didn't find information about, is it aloud?
Hi and thanks 🙏🏻 as far as I know you are not allowed to camp in Italy but it is hard to find solid information about it 🤔 2 times I was forced to… when I do I always do I remote and “leave no trace” I have read that in remote alpine areas above 2000 meters it’s accepted if you pitch at sun set and leave at sun rise.
Hallo, thank you for this wonderful video. Do you know if this is possible to do in February? I really want to go but it’s gonna be full of snow probably in February. Or is it not?
@@manofthemoment I have to say that it’s not recommended to go alone and without rope across glaziers, I did it knowing the risk. But the micro spikes was enough for me that morning 🤞🏻

What a brilliant film! It is super inspiring and really captures the spirit of being in the mountains. Fantastic, many thanks!
Thank you very much for the kind words ☺️ fantastic to know somebody enjoyed it…
Great hike! Bravo! Heading to Grächen tomorrow for my TMR. Thanks for sharing
Enjoy your hike on the TMR 🏔
Beautiful film and amazing surroundings.
Beautiful video. I was looking for some information on TMB versus TMR, and I found it here. I will do TMR!
Good choice 👏🏻👏🏻 and thanks 🙏🏻

It’s very much less crowded 👏🏻 but some time the trail I closed in places due to stone slides so look in to that 🤞🏻
Nice video. I just did the TMB and now I'm looking for something with fewer people, I'm also studying variants to lengthen the route. I hope I can do it next summer.
Thank you👍🏻 TMR is a great hike, beautiful and a bit harder than tmb I think😅
Hope you go…🤞🏻

@@ThorclanTrek Thank you 🙏
@ThorclanTrek did u have normal crampons to highmountains boots or something else?
I use trail runners and used micro spikes 👍🏻
