    • @cheshirekat3050

      @ Jesse James.
      Yes. For a few moments, he was able to let go of the Dark Side.
      For a brief while, he was Anakin Skywalker once more.
      The fact that he came so close to returning to the Light side, only to be pulled back into the darkness, was what made this comic so touching.
      Whoever wrote this comic, is a master at pulling heartstrings.

    • @cheshirekat3050
      @cheshirekat3050 6 ปีที่แล้ว +49

      True.
      Palpatine manipulated him for years, by playing to his ego "I foresee you becoming a great Jedi one day. Perhaps even the greatest".
      And let's face it, teenagers don't need much to convince them not to listen to their elders (in this case, Obi Wan).
      Still, it seems like having all of that raw Force energy coursing through him at such a young age, may have made adolescent Anakin a tad unstable.

    • @upscaleavenue
      @upscaleavenue 6 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      Cheshire Kat Yes, but I think most of Palpatine's manipulation of Anakin was taking advantage of knowing what he desired, which was to prevent Padme's death. Yes, Anakin was arrogant in several aspects, but he trusted Palpatine, being like a father figure and mentor, to guide him. I think Anakin became so intent on preventing Padme's death (which, in the end, was only a vision implanted in his mind by the Emperor) that he ignored the red flags along the way that clearly told him that Palpatine had nefarious intentions. Obi Wan was actually warned by Yoda and the counsel early on not to train Anakin, but he didn't listen. Such complex characters!

    Poor Anikan/Vader.
    Most of his life was suffering.
    And the worst of that suffering (which would last for nearly two decades) was of his own making.
    If he'd been able to master control of his emotions as an adolescent, his world wouldn't have come crumbling down on Mustafar.
    He lost everything in life which brought him happiness; and he pulled it down with his own hands.

    I wish Vader let Garosh and Sarrow go before he destroyed the building, as they had a child as well, that would have really showed his light side and would have been really nice/awesome to see, as we could still see his empathetic/soft side (good side) that lied/lies deep beneath the surface of his hatred and anger.

    Tell me why didn't Padme and Anakin know she had twins? Do ultra sounds not exist in Star wars with all this technology? Nothing that can look inside the mother?

    • @mplumley95
      @mplumley95 6 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      Maybe Padmé didn't go in for an ultrasound because making an appointment for one would've left it as part of her medical record, increasing the possibility that someone snooping around could've discovered she was pregnant and perhaps connected it somehow back to her marriage with Anakin?
      That, or she wanted the baby's sex to be a surprise?

    • @mrpenguin451
      @mrpenguin451 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      mplumley95 Well they already knew she was pregnant the farther along she got. But perhaps she just didn't want to know.

    • @mplumley95
      @mplumley95 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was under the impression she was hiding her pregnancy underneath thick clothes so her colleagues wouldn't know. Obi-Wan apparently knew about it judging by RotS, but I guess Padmé and him are close enough friends that she'd trust him not to gossip even if he didn't know who the father was.

    • @urjnlegend
      @urjnlegend 6 ปีที่แล้ว +109

      Jayden C he basically is the strongest core character. You can't argue against it. Also, being conflicted has EVERYTHING to do with battle, and being a Jedi or sith. It is your drive, your focus, your meaning. If you are doing something you are unsure of or are forced to, you won't be at your strongest. You don't know if Vader was conflicted, but it makes perfect sense, because after all that Vader has done and experienced, Luke shouldn't be able to touch him in any shape or form. Luke gets too much credit, he is nowhere near Darth Vader level in any form. He just had Hope and got thru to his dad. If Vader was not conflicted throughout the time he fought Luke, he would have ended him at his own leisure. Luke was no obi wan, or even close to obi wan in skill. The only people alive who could have challenged Vader, as in been a challenge, were obi wan and Yoda.

    • @Jdudec367
      @Jdudec367 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      people always say that it's no true first off luke still has his whole body he kinda has a stronger connection to the force plus Luke was conflicted to on killing his dad or not..you could tell...just like how vader was conflicted and explain how the empereor just killed him with like 1 zap

    • @urjnlegend
      @urjnlegend 6 ปีที่แล้ว +58

      Jayden C vaders suit is mechanical, he cannot resist electrical attacks, much less the full power of Darth sideous, an extremely strong sith Lord's attack. Luke survived it not only because sideous was toying with him, but because Luke is not a mechanical being, needing a suit of life support to sustain his life.
      Vader fought as a general in the clone wars, KILLED COUNTLESS JEDI, and you're telling me his kid, who has NO EXPERIENCE WHATSOEVER WAS ABLE TO OUTDO A WAR HERO/SITH LORD, WHO SINGLE HANDEDLY DESTROYED THE ENTIRE JEDI ORDER?? YOURE TELLING ME LUKE WAS ABLE TO KEEP UP AND GIVE HIM A RUN FOR HIS MONEY.
      WHAT HAPPENED IN EP 5, LUKE WAS ABOUT TO DIE AFTER FIGHTING VADER. LUKE GOT LUCKY, THRU THE FORCE THAT HE LIVED. DONT TELL ME VADER WAS NOT IN CONTROL OF THAT FIGHT.
      VADER HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN CONTROL OF ALL OF HIS FIGHTS VS LUKE. HE CHOSE NOT TO KILL HIM, MORR THAN LIKELY HE WAS JUST PLAYING ALONG. WHY ELSE WOULD HE ASK LUKE TO JOIN HIM? LUKE HAD POTENTIAL, BUT POTENTIAL CANOT OUT DO A PRSON WHO IS Living his potential, with a body count so high, it's not even funny. He killed Jedi masters, and knights. You think Luke with no training could have out done his dad ? I don't think so.

    3:16 - 3:26 Wait im fairly certain vader had no organic limbs left. Both fists were metal. If ive misunderstood what you said i apologize but it sounds like you are saying he had one normal fist and one metal, when infact he has two metal ones. that's why he couldn't use true force lighting and why his potential in the force was so diminished after mustafar because he had no organic limbs left and the force needs living tissue to function and he had lost so much of his. Otherwise i loved the video and great work, i look forward to future content.

      They were both metal but one of them was covered with fabric and leather while the other was straight metal

    • @daltonevans3412
      @daltonevans3412 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Nick Hanson fair enough it was just the way it was worderd "keep in mind one of these was a metal one" makes it sound like he was saying only one was metal, so i was just saying incase there were some causal fans watching who didnt know both were metal.

      In Legends,specifically pre prequel Legends, Vader has one flesh arm. It is mentioned by Mara Jade in The Thrawn Trilogy that Palpatine cuts off his right hand after the destruction of the first Death Star. It's been a long time since I read those books, so I don't remember which book it's in, but she is talking to Luke when she mentions it.

      The Force does crap just by itself, so I don't think one needs limbs for a connection to the Force.

    • @matthewaddai5336
      @matthewaddai5336 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      BlackEpyon No one said you need limbs to have a connection to the force. What is being said is that to use the force to the fullest potential, you need to be a fully organic being. This is a specific plot point in the series.

    I love how anakin came out in darth Vader and I wish this comic continued the way it was going near the end. Possibly Vader giving up on the dark side.
    Although I would be interested should their be a comic where Vader never lost at mustafar. Or one where he never was even corrupted. I'm sure they exist but I don't know

    The tragic side of Vader, and how many times he was so close to becoming Anakin, is always so fantastic to see. Fantastic and tragic. It really explains why he latched onto the concept of Luke being alive so much.

      He seems to be keeping himself alive with the force somehow. It’s probably not perfect, though, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the lack of oxygen is contributing to the hallucinations and various other mental instability Vader has here. (Of course, he’s always unstable to some degree, but this is obviously beyond the norm.) Afterwards in the scene with Palpatine, he’s in a controlled environment that would have enough oxygen for him.

    3:22 actually, all of his limbs are metal. We know this from Revenge if the sith, where the remaining three natural limbs of Anakin Skywalker were cut off by Obi Wan.

    I think the fact that he lived after his initial years of regret and suicidal tendencies proves that the force wanted him alive. (the force willed it) It wanted him to bring balance back and he was the only one who could do it. He spent half his life in the light and half of it in the dark. No matter what he did he wouldn't die. The Mortis plot line even emphasizes that -- the father took away Anakin's memories to prevent him from straying from his path.

  • @Titoscudd

    Frankly, I think that Darth Vader lived a very sad and tortured life. It probably would have been better if he had died in his fight with Obama Wan Kenobi.

    Disney must make a Rated R series, not a movie but a series of the whole emotional en brutal ride of Anakins life as Darth Vader. It would be an 'award winning' series, that's for sure...

Give us Vader or maul, Star Wars in red, almost a guaranteed winner if somebody got the balls to do it!
