I have owned four Jeep Grand Cherokee's since 2004. My newest is the new body style 2023 Hemi Summit. Consumer Reports is full of crap, and I certainly don't take automotive or appliance advice from them. By the way, immediate family members have my previous three GCs, without a problem or complaint.
Every other vehicle in my area is a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I had a 2007 Jeep SRT, I still have a 2017 Jeep SRT and also a 2023 Grand Cherokee Summit XL. Never any problems.
Consumer Reports isn't dissing them. Car owners fill out an annual survey. The scores are tabulated from real world ownership. I fill it out myself and only buy Lexus, Toyota, Honda and Subaru. Everything else Anerican and Euro made is excrement.
So once again CR claims it has the reports to support what it is saying. Well I will point the wrangler. Yes the tires are noisy but that's what they are for. Yes there is some wind noise. But not as bad as you all say and only at hwy speeds. In town and on the trails its fine. But as usual Cr craps on all north American bult wheels. So just ignore them. I always do.
Again, Consumer Reports sends out an annual survey to it's members. They report back their experience. As a member I also pay to suscribe. Yes, jeep products suck. But I will roll the dice and buy a used wrangler to pull behind my motorhome. Would it ever be my daily driver? Negative.
You would think by now American manufacturers would have learned how to build a good car. What you don't see here are any Japanese or even Korean cars. That's why, for me, I will always buy a Toyota. My wife wanted a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, a beautiful vehicle, and so far it has had no problems, knock on wood.

I have owned our xc60 Volvo for four years and have had zero problems besides a small rattle in the dash which the dealer fixed.

Scotty Kilmer will tell you all about Land Rovers. very complicated electronically. The big shots drive the Range Rover Sports.
Consumer's Reports, in my opinion, sucks when it comes to cars or trucks.
Why are Consumer Report dissing American cars when most of the car shops I see are imports?

Because all GM vehicles are junk. They should be bankrupt but taxpayers bailed them out! Shameful and disgusting
