I would say you bang on with the Lexus, Toyota, Honda and Mazda. Subaru maybe the newest models 2021 and up but before 2021 Subaru was plagued by big problems like engine & transmission issues that are very expensive to repair.

Neve get a car with turbo or the trashy CVT transmission. All those new Hondas and Toyotas are loosing their reputation for being reliable means of transportation. They are using consumers as test puppets trying their new technology. They need to reproduce the older models like the Honda's 2.4 and Camry's 2.2. Add to this great line up the Corolla's 1.8 and the Lexus's ES 330 or 350. Toyota is my choice just because of one factor and that is the timing chain vs. Rubber belt. @@plamenpetrov8074 Several years ago (2009) I remember test driving a 1993 es 300 with 235000 miles on it, the used car lot wanted $1,999 for it, so I test drove it for kicks. The car needed some work, especially in the suspension, and some cosmetic work, but the engine felt almost immaculate, as though it could have easily gone another 300000 miles.
