    "Money/ Tithing and Mammon"
Often when we confront people with the fact that they are serving mammon, they reply, “We have to pay the bills.” That’s when we see what it means not to take thought, or ask, “What shall we eat?” If working a job to pay the bills is living by faith, then all the world is living by faith - that’s exactly how the“nations of the world” (Luke 12:29-31) get their needs met. They serve mammon. They work their jobs, get their pay, and buy their needs “For after all these things do the Gentiles seek.” (Matt. 6:31-32). If an unbeliever works for a bank, isn’t he serving mammon? If he isn’t, then what does the phrase “serving Mammon” mean? And if he is serving mammon, then isn’t his co-worker who professes to be a Christian serving mammon as well?
Another statement that is often made concerns passages in the New Testament that refer to believing masters and servants (e.g., Eph. 6:5-9.) Some say that this applies to an employer-employee relationship. Upon reading it, however, we find it is speaking about masters and servants, not business associates. We know the will of Elohiym was that the servants should be made free, for Paul himself wrote that if a servant was able to obtain freedom, then he should do so (1Cor. 7:21.) Indeed, he emphasized this point by saying, “Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.” (1 Cor. 7:23) Evidently at that time some circumstances were such that it was not always possible for a servant to be made free; but such is of course not the case now. Obtaining freedom from an employer is accomplished simply by quitting. In fact, some take the liberty to do this as soon as they find a higher paying job.
Matt. 11:28-30 - There is a rest available for those who are weary of laboring for the meat that perishes. Let us get away from being yoked together with unbelievers (2 Cor. 6:14-18), and take His yoke upon us - do His work. Very few who profess to know Yeshua are willing to take His yoke upon them. They have no interest in submitting to Adonai, nor to those who have the rule over us (“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.” Heb. 13:17) They do, however, obey diligently the voice of their employers; and this is neither out of love nor respect for them, but to receive the paycheck (money). “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (1 Tim. 6:10) Multitudes every day are submitting themselves, compromising their convictions and bowing down (in a sense) to cater to the whims of their bosses and patrons.
By obeying Yeshua’s Word and taking His yoke upon us, we receive a blessed rest for our souls. Working for this anti-Christ society is not a blessing; it’s actually a judgment:
Habakkuk 2:13- Note this is “of Yahveh”; it’s a judgment sent from Him. What could be more vain than laboring for the meat which perishes to keep living in order to continue laboring for the meat which perishes? So many people are spending their lives in an effort to keep their lives going. But the promise to those who seek first His kingdom and righteousness is that what they need will be added unto them - not lots of riches, but enough food and raiment to get by so we can keep on seeking Him first.
Ecclesiastes 2:26 - Elohiym gives this judgment to sinners. If they reject His yoke, they get this one: hard labor. A thirty year mortgage, for example is basically a sentence.
Be it noted that in the days before the flood the world was making provisions for the flesh while Noah was preaching and working out his salvation. (2 Pet 2:5; see also Luke 17:26-29: “...they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded.”) Many do not choose to do Elohiym’s work because they are system-addicts. The system is their god, and thus it would be unthinkable for them to look to anyone but the system for their needs. Man cannot always help us, however. Consider all the money that has been appropriated for AIDS: how many people do you know that have been healed by that means? Consider as well the flood of ‘93: all the Corps. Of engineers and money sent from Washington couldn’t stop it. This has long been a device of man: throw money at problems as a solution.
The Scriptures make it known to us that conforming and being unwilling to stand out and stand up is a manifestation of not having the Spirit (see Acts 1:8). The exhortation to Christians is not to seek to be a friend of the world (James 4:4). Rather, the means by which we are able to be called Elohiym’s peculiar people is by obtaining the grace to be zealous of good works, unspotted by their ways (see Titus 2:11-14 and James 1:27).
We can testify of the truth of His promises. We hold no jobs, own what we can carry, and make with our own hands what we need (or trade for it, or find it, etc.) We have no permanent address, solicit no funds, take zero government money, and have no one supporting us by working for the world. Yet we always have what we need; Elohiym provides for us in all sorts of ways plus heals all our sicknesses.
Let us remember that the Scripture warns about serving the creature more than the Creator (Romans 1:25.) Many are worshiping the god of self, catering to the lusts of their flesh. Brother John wrote that we should keep ourselves from idols (1John 5:21.) Yeshua asked, “Lovest thou Me more than these?” (John 21:15) This is the key. A greater love for Adonai would surely help many to start to serve Him, rather than just honoring Him with their lips. There is need of the fire of the Holy Ghost in the lives of many, that they might be His witnesses (see Acts 1:8: “And ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me....”) Fire has a nature of releasing energy. Of course this energy from the Spirit is to be for His service, not for us to serve ourselves and prosper in our will.
It is obvious that society, or the world as the Scriptures call it, is in a very horrible state. Some are aware of this, and yet are not willing to take a stand against it as Yeshua did and taught. They just float downstream compromising with the system in order to get by. The Scriptures call us out of all that, exhorting us to be separate from sin and have no part in it: “Come out of her, My people.” (Rev. 18:4) Those who are willing to go out of the camp, bearing His reproach (Heb. 13:13) will find that there’s really not much else worth doing besides His work.
"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall
Make you free.” - John 8:32, Yeshua (Jesus)

The bible says that we should verify everything thoroughly and hold on to the truth. The preacher in this video says we don't need to check the bible since there are thousands of theologians and pastors involved in the preaching, asking and taking if tithes. I do not believe him. I rather believe in the word of God, the holy bible. Asking for, receiving and giving of tithe is a sin!!! It is not biblical. Most of the collectors of tithes are living in opulence while the members of their congregations are languishing in poverty, at least majority of them. Do not ask for tithe, do not receive tithe and do not give tithe.

Hi there.... You and I, like Pastor Whoever, are shepherds. But only in a very limited sense. To call you "shepherd" suggests that you are my shepherd. But you are not. I only have one Shepherd (pastor), the Good Shepherd. If I follow your good example, as one who is following the Good Shepherd, it is really Christ I am following. If you are not setting a good example (if you are a hireling, if you bow to religious traditions, if you do not emphasize the lordship of Jesus) and I follow you, I am not following the Good Shepherd. Good or bad example, to call you "Pastor Proud" is contrary to Christ and His New Testament. Thanks for your thoughtful comments.

When you’re not really bothered to tithe or not to tithe, but you just give because by your giving you honouring God as a King and putting your trust in Him, then your heart is in the right place and you’re not going to puzzle yourself with “Shall i tithe or not..., did Jesus tithe or not”.... He has called me out and it’s embarrassing because I am shy and don’t think its right to be called out. I work in the sound-booth doing facebook live and I sit back a lot so I guess he thinks I’m lacking spiritual somehow or I need a blessing. I’m already blessed without him praying over me. Do you agree that it is folly to assume everyone in leadership position (everyone that is CONSIDERED leader) is God-appointed? Do you accept man-appointed leaders as YOUR leader? One more: I once made the statement that when one considers church leadership, the first one that should come to mind is Jesus Christ. Do you agree with that statement? They don't understand what the tithe really was. And then they say if you don't God will get his in way or the other. God doesn't do things like that. It is old school to talk that way.

Disobeying the word of God when it clearly tells us to both Tithe and give offering (Offering is what you give freely not grudgingly because it can be significantly more that tithing, you can give a house to the church, a car, more money and whatever) Tithing is fixed and it's 10% of your increase, yes the only increase you get is what? That's right, a paycheck.
The old way of gaining increase was owning cows, seeds, farming. In return you tithed from that! But today trading has changed, so if you do not pay tithes from your increase, you are clearly disobeying God 100% no questions asked. Deuteronomy 14:25 talks about exchanging tithes into money, if the (livestock and seeds for tithing are too heavy to carry while transitioning). This gives you an insight that God allows and allowed tithes to be of monetary form, which is very crucial in our modern day way of giving tithes to the Levites (Pastors as we call them today). Explain Then how are we to support Levites of today "Pastors"? With cows and seeds? Remember you are supposed to tithe a 10th of your increase, yes it applies to your paycheck as it is an increase. Confusing tithes as offering and offerings as tithes is a mistake. A tithe is a tithe an offering(giving) is an offering. We are supposed to do both but you just want to omit tithe but then pretend you're tithing as offering. Where is your tithe, bro?
Read Deuteronomy, that scripture was kinda written for modern day life, or could be applied for a time like this. In that scripture they were transitioning so it was written for a transitioning period. But for us it still applies because we have transitioned from old form of trading commodity to a new form of exchanging goods, we don't use cows or seeds to tithe for the form of trade today is physical money, actually we shifted now to digital money to trade. Thus pay your tithe with the current mode of trade! I'll paraphrase Deuteronomy 14 but will post the verse in full context...."if you are not able to carry your tithes, then turn it into money", read Deuteronomy 14:22 but really starting from verse 25".
    Deuteronomy 14:22
Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
23 And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the Lord thy God always.
24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the Lord thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the Lord thy God hath blessed thee:
25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose:
26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.

Hope Osage, my comment is regarding to the subject of tithing and not about Jesus. What commandments did Jesus give us?
      by Matt Slick
Jesus gave many commands in Scripture. Some of them were for Christians as a whole, and some were intended for the disciples only, i.e., Matthew 10:5-15 and Matthew 26:36. Some verses were directed at the apostles specifically but can also apply to us today such as . . .
"And He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “So, you men could not keep watch with Me for one hour? 41 “Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:40-41).
"And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me." (Mark 8:34).
Not every command of Christ is listed here because, as I said above, some commands apply only to the people at the time he walked the earth. Nevertheless, following are those that apply to us.
      Repent
"From that time Jesus began to preach and say, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.'" (Matthew 4:17).
      Follow Him
"And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19).
      Let your light shine
"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16).
      Be reconciled
“Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering." (Matthew 5:23-24).
      Don't Lust
"You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY’, 28 but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.“If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 “If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell."
      (Matthew 5:27-30).
      Make no oaths
"But I say to you, make no oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God . . . 37 But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil." (Matthew 5:34, 37).
      Don't resist evil with evil
"But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. 40 “If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also. 41 “Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 “Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you." (Matthew 5:39-42)
Love and pray for your enemies
"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 “For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?" (Matthew 5:44-46)
      Be perfect (in love)
"Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:48).
      Seek God's Kingdom first
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." (Matthew 6:33).
      Don't Judge
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged." (Matthew 7:1).
Don't give what is holy to dogs
“Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." (Matthew 7:6).
Treat people as you want to be treated
“In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 7:12).
Enter (heaven) through the narrow gate
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
14 “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it." (Matthew 7:13-14).
      Beware of false prophets
"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves." (Matthew 7:15-16).
      Follow Jesus
"Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead." (Matt. 8:22).
Ask God to send out workers
" Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 “Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." (Matthew 9:37-38).
Don't fear those who can kill the body
“Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."(Matthew 10:28).
      Come to Jesus for rest
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28).
      Confront brothers in private first
"If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother." (Matthew 18:15-17).
      Forgive Seven times Seventy
"Jesus said to him, 'I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.'" (Matthew 18:21-22).
Render to Caesar what is Caesar's
"They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” Then He said to them, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and to God the things that are God’s." (Matthew 22:21).
      Love God
"And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'" (Matthew 22:37-38).
      Love your Neighbor
"The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'" (Matthew 22:39).
      Partake of Communion
While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is My body. 27 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.” (Matthew 26:26-27).
      Keep guard against sin
"Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." (Matthew 26:41).
      Make Disciples
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20).
      Preach the Gospel
"And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." (Mark 16:15).
      Be on guard against greed
"Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.” (Luke 12:15).
      Invite the poor
"And He also went on to say to the one who had invited Him, “When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, otherwise they may also invite you in return and that will be your repayment. 13 “But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous." (Luke 14:12-14).
      Love one another
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another." (John 13:34).
"This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you." (John 15:12).
"This I command you, that you love one another." (John 15:17).

You are lying, pure and simple Noemi. Jesus said to care for the widow, the orphan, the imprisoned and the sick and less fortunate. He is the one , the God of the Old Testament that laid down the command to bring part of your increase into the storehouse to care and provide for the less fortunate. As keeping the ten commandments is required of us, so is the tithe and the Holy Days. They are all the base of the original Covenant made with Abraham and Adam and Eve. They also teach us the way to show God's love to the world and are tremendous blessings for us. Faith without works is dead, so let your light shine so that the world will know who you are and what a loving Father we have who loves us and provides more than we can comprehend.

Tithes was given once a year for the priests and the poor. It was food anyway not coins .There is nothing wrong about giving and blessing the church or pastor but i refuse TO BE FORCED TO PUT MONEY IN THEIR POCKETS. Yes ministry need money but these thieves abuse too much: nice life big cars mansions holiday... and the sheep r poor.

God, commanded to tithe and he was specific, detailed, and utmost thorough regarding who was to tithe {herders man and farmers only}, to whom the tithe was given to {levites, widows, the poor, the foreigners, and yourself to eat in front of God to learn to fear him}. Most importantly, tithing was about food and not money. Any pastor that tells you, we live in a money era, confront him/her with love and correct their error. In Jesus day, money existed. If God wanted money in that time, he would commanded. Tithing was an Old Testament Law and and not longer is commanded by God, as Jesus nailed it to the cross so we ca live by grace.

Us people with crafty spirits always find a to confuse people into believing them.
There no sin in tithing, and nothing in tithing honors satan. Everything in tithing glorifies God for who and what He is!
If any one is using tithing selfishly on a people that's a different thing.
Attacking tithing is a clear way of attacking the church, even if you claim to be a Christian!

give when God reveal to me when, who and where to give and how much, tithes is not in the new covenant, we are no longer under the old laws, we are under a new covenant with better promises, we give as we purpose in our heart to give, for God will bless us to give to who God reveal to us to bless.

I’m not against giving, however, I don’t trust any of these ministries to be good stewards with money. Most preachers are living really really well. Who determines what they make? Even if they have a board of directors, they appoint people that will vote their way. I’ve been to many year end church meetings and am always amazed at how little actually to the gospel ; most goes to salary and keeping the lights on. I’d rather give it straight to someone the Lord directs me to. Eliminate the waste. Red tape.

Your question as to whether Jesus tithed is silly. Jesus Is God why would he need to tithe to himself? I'd ask for what Christ says in the New Testament he said sell all that you have and give to the poor. So what Christ asks us is not just a tithe but more or less, according to his wishes. You should also understand that if you are a member of the church the money which you paid to the church for its upkeep, utilities, mortgage, and so on is not money given to God or part of any tithe or offering. What you are paying is your obligation as a member of the church and it is a secular debt not related to God. So if you are tithing, what you paid at the church for such things as I listed above is not part of any Thai they're offering to God. Too many people think it is, and they are wrong.

Hi Jim Church.... and God bless! Jesus, I understand and most understand, kept the law. He did not tithe only because He did not own land. Jesus asks us to give generously, but He gives no instruction to His church to give a percentage. Tithe money, right or wrong, is spent on the things you say, and also to pay the pastor, etc., for services rendered. Thanks for your input.

No one is obligated as a member of the church/building; to give tithing, offerings or debt. Whatever amount of money you heart desire and not under compulsion, but in love, that is what you give. It is silly to say that member of the church are obligated to pay or give money to the church/building. We, our body are the church/temple of Christ and not a building made by hands. God, dwells among us anywhere at any time so we can freely share the good news. God can’t be tamed in a building.

    • @callabini
      @callabini 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@noemisierra8479 You are wrong. As a member of a church, you are obligated at least morally and ethically to support the church and contribute to paying the bills of the church. And such payments have nothing to do with tithing or contributing to the Lord. It is your secular obligation and if you fail to fulfill that obligation then you are not living honorably.
Christ wants you to donate money to him by helping the poor and those in need. If you remember about the man who called Jesus good, Jesus told him to sell everything that he had and give the money to the poor. And that is how we give to the Lord. It is not by donating to the church.

    • @noemisierra8479
      @noemisierra8479 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Jim Church, if I offended you with my observations from the Bible and my own beliefs, I apologize for that. However, with the same token it is the utmost importance to give knowledge to the one above and knowledge is freedom. God gave me the right to free will and therefore, I am privileged by such given right. The man you mention regarding as to give all his material possessions was pertaining to that specific man not everyone. I don’t have any obligation to give anything to the church/building. My obligation is to my Lord and Savior. Having said that as free will given from the one above, my choice to give money is to the needy { homeless, poor, widowed, fatherless, sick, and foreigners } in person as I always have and out my own income. God doesn’t interfere with free will, that is why he commission his Son to nail any law and any suppression at the cross.

And when elders agree with Jesus, it is not the elders you are submitting to, but Jesus Himself. The authority of elders is limited to God's word. They have no authority of themselves. Every one who speaks God's word is speaking authoritatively... you, me, everyone. Blessings!

@@likereally9105 To an extent I agree with you sir, but again I want to disagree to a particular level, when you say that Jesus Is Just a leader, He is the MASTER, LORD of Lords, you know what I mean. Therefore, when the scripture quotes the "leaders" I take it that way. Leaders. Thus you do not nullify the authority of pastors, teachers, and other leaders such as elders. Paul said follow me as I follow Christ. As you said the measure is the word of God but we should have exemplary leaders to emulate, and as well submit to coz even Jesus Christ Himself submitted to John the Baptist.

Hi Sarah. Paul had to correct Peter (Galatians) because "he stood condemned". For fear of the Judaizers, Peter refused to eat with the gentile converts. This was a horrible betrayal to Christ. Even Barnabas was caught up in this compromise. Paul alone confronted Peter "before them all". So, one might ask, "If I was there should I have followed Peter or Paul." The answer is neither; one should follow Christ. More blessings on you!

Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. 9:13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? 9:14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. 9:15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. 9:16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 9:17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.

Now days people try to find loopholes in serving the Lord. Abram was the 1st to tithe in the old testiment way before his name change or the law was given. So it is not an old or new testiment thing. Jesus watched how the people gave in His time here on earth. He was watching the heart. See God knows if we are stingy or have a giving. It is not about control unless the leaders have a stingy heart. If he does then we need to be in prayer for them. They are human like us and they must be corrected in love but, no confrontation without true intercession about this for the Holy Spirit to minister to you first. Next this man says we are not to have anyone a lead over us-wrong! The Lord established the Church. Yes we are the Church however, remember how He asked Jesus said to Peter if you love me feed my sheep. If that is not placing a leader in place and you don't see it then I don't know what else can be said. 1 Timothy 2:15 says study to show yourself approved unto God a workman who rightly divides the truth will not be ashamed. So, these are the last days and people want to blame everyone else but our job is to study the word, pray for everyone, stop believing everyone who puts a post or video on social media. We serve a Holy God. He sees into our hearts so, even if you choose not to tithe, He knows the motive or the reason why and we will give Him our reason when we meet Him. Yes there are crooked people out there but, they will be answering God why they did their stuff. Grow up people and ask to show you the truth about every single thing because the bottom line is you won't be able to say brother or minister somebody told me this or that.

Hi there.... thank you for your comments. I ask you to consider that Abram also had concubines and offered animal sacrifices to God. And yet we do not imitate these practices. I do not suggest stinginess, but obedience. We obey Lord Jesus by obeying NT teachings and the Holy Spirit He has sent to us. Lord Jesus guides us through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, in turn, often guides us through brothers and sisters. The fact that christians disagree with each other is proof that man cannot be trusted. But we can trust the Holy Spirit. He will guide us to the degree we lean on Him. God bless you!!!

Prisons allow ministers to come in at appropriate times to minister. You would need to counsel with the prison warden as to your qualifications and general beliefs and apply for access. If there is space and time you will likely be allowed in and be given a schedule from which you can make regular weekly visits. You can also apply for others to assist you, but they will need to be vetted. If they have a clean record and accepted they, as yourself, will be given an identification photo badge that has to be shown and worn during your meetings. You will be searched upon entering the area accessible to prisoners. Some ministers also teach AA meetings and drug abuse classes. Keep in mind that you may be turned down if other ministers have already taken up these time slots.

No place can be found in the Bible that says that Jesus tithed, nor that Jesus received any tithes. Money was never, and can never, be used for tithing ! Giving money for tithing is completely WRONG.
    1. The Bible tells us that God commanded that only plants and animals be given for tithing, 2. In the Bible we can read that God commanded that if a person had money when they were at the place to tithe that they were to take the money and buy what their soul longeth to eat and bring those edible things only for tithing and not to give money for tithing, 3. To give money for tithing is actually the breaking of God's laws and commandments that were given in the Bible as mentioned beforehand, 4. To continue to follow the old laws of the Bible then, in the new testament it tells us that you then remain under the old curse and are not under the Grace of Jesus, 5. In Hebrews 7 the Bible tells us that the old laws were weak and unprofitable for us and that the laws were disannulled and the priesthood was changed through Jesus because the priests had to offer up sacrifices daily but Jesus only needed to offer himself up only once for us, 6. If ministers tell people we are still under the old laws of giving, then why do they not preach all the laws that were commanded for giving such as redeeming your property, and paying money for your sin offering, and paying a certain amount of money every year according to your age and gender, etc. ? 7. The Bible tells us we are to give Free Will offerings now, 8. The word tithe means basically 10% of something, but in the Bible tithing was done regarding several different things or different years so the giving of tithes was much more then 10% of the things, 9. Tithing in the Bible was only done a few certain times of the year, not every week !, 10. Abraham tithed to Melchizedek from the spoils of war and not from any wages earned, further if you read elsewhere in the Bible we can read that Abraham had received from a King the amount of 1000 pieces of silver and animals and land, but if you read the Bible there is no where in the Bible that states Abraham tithed anything from the 1000 pieces of silver or animals or land that he received. My question is then why would anyone want to try to give money for tithing since it appears that this is actually disobeying God's commandments written in the Bible, and you would remain under the old curses and not under Grace as written in the Bible, and it appears you would be telling God that he does not have the authority to disannull his laws, and it appears you would be denying Jesus's priesthood and sacrifice of himself for us as the ultimate sacrifice only needed once and once only, so why would anyone what to do this ? Yes, give offerings to support your church, give 10% or 1%, or 50% or whatever, but the money is a Free Will offering and not a tithe.

@@likereally9105 You may use my comments that you wish to. This was a short version I wrote above. I will give you a lot more information with many scriptures, but it will be in four parts because of word limitations:
The Bible does say that those that preach the word are due wages (referring to money) for their work. There are many many many ministers that do not preach tithing in case you did not know this, and some of them have postings on TH-cam saying that we are not to tithe, and they also say that tithing was never money. Pastor Francis Sabadini who has called me his true brother in Christ, once told me that in his opinion the prosperity ministers that preach the tithing of money are like thieves in God's house.
I have even witnessed that there are some people that even think they can go to Heaven by tithing or giving money to a ministry because what some ministers have told them.
I have seen one minister while on the TBN network with his show tell people that if they gave $4,000 to his ministry that the minister would personally tell God that God has to let not only the person that gave the money but additionally the whole family into Heaven because of the giving of the money, so the minister is in fact it seems to be preaching you can buy your way into Heaven and some people believe that, and in addition the minister claims he has authority over God to tell God what to do.
Another time on TBN a minister says he is going to read the Bible and teach people about tithing in the New Testament, he starts to read Hebrews Chapter 7 and I tell my wife he will not read the whole chapter I bet, but surprising to me once he started he continued to the end of it, and then his mouth kind of drops open a little and then he says to the people watching that the Bible does not mean what is written in it, and says that only the ministers can understand what is written in it so he then says what I just read does not mean you stop tithing and we as ministers tell you must continue tithing regardless of what was written in Chapter 7. This is sad that a minister tells people that the words written in the Bible do not mean what is written in the Bible and that only ministers can understand and tell you what the words mean, and further that several ministers are sitting there together and seem to all be agreeing with him. Based on what he has said to the people how could any person then believe anything they read in the Bible if they believed this minister ? I mus admit this mad me sad and angry at the time.
Another time a minister on Daystar was asking for people to give money to it to simple support it at first, but then all of a sudden he says to give the money and you will receive salvation and realizing what he just said he stated he says that is the first time he has ever said that and then said that sounds right and said it again to give money for support and you can receive salvation, I believe that was the last time I watched Daystar.
Anyway I will post my four comments as I said for you.

@@timclark5898 When Jesus 'confirmed' tithing, did He mention money? If we want to follow tithing, we should do it just as the Bible states. God bless!

Of course Yeshua tithed. He was Jewish and living under the law. Our instructions are given in II Cor 9.

The only accepted tithes were those that came from the land God gave to the Israelites. If Jesus were a farmer, He would certainly have tithed, giving 10% of the increase. Blessings!

I agree there's little to support tithing in the NT and in Jesus teaching. That said my experience with pastors in the denomination i worship with are themselves fairly poor. They often make sacrifices, them and their families, to follow the call. One had to moonlight at a kfc store to keep his family fed. Obviously the congregation he serves believe firmly in divine providence. However there are fellow christians out there who give sacrificially way above 10 or 20 percent of their income for the cause of Christ, without seeing such as a scriptural obligation. They wouldn't want to comment here as they'd be turned on by anti tithers here for not being scriptural.

Hi there.... The emphasis of our lives should be to take the gospel to the world. Christ's great commission should receive the bulk of our donations. We have to rise above our little world and see the distress of the nations our Lord Jesus died for. Because others ignore the command to take His precious gospel to the world should be no reason we do. Before us all is an enormous opportunity. The field really is white for the harvest. "Help us, Lord Jesus!"

      Hi there....
The law did not require, or even allow, a carpenter to tithe. Jesus never tithed.

Jesus did not tithe as he was a carpenter. Only people with herds and farms had to tithe. Maids, secretary’s, sowers, carpenter, fisherman, any type of position none related to owning farms or herds, did not required to tithe under the law. However, Jesus, paid taxes and that is separate from tithing and has nothing to do with tithing.
