    To keep the rod ends from popping off the ball, silicone tubing/fuel hose for each side of the ball to keep it in place.

    something I found building mine: I had to use SSD ryft specific wheel hubs to provide clearance for the larger wheel nuts and also allow full engagement of the nylock on the threads.

    Wow great video, thanks. I've nearly completed my kit; it's all together and today I'll install the transmitter. I appreciate the tips on adding the link for the Castle system. Also, I thought the instructions for this thing were pretty awful. They need to use some LANGUAGE in there to point some stuff out. I had no idea about those marks on the links. I did get the shiny ones installed at the skid, but I have no idea where those marks are... I'll have to go check.

    I installed the Hobbywing Fusion SE 1200KV motor w/ a 14T pinion. Also, all 3 diffs are 'spooled'. No speedster here, just crawling...

    Nice build and well detailed man. I did mine up to I put the 1415/mmx in and it’s incredible. 2s I good for kids while I can still smile. 4s is pure insanity. I broke a rear diff gear in the front lawn :/ I’ll turn the punch down. B link is definitely needed on this truck haha

    • @mangzrc
      @mangzrc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have my punch control turned up to 20% which seems to be a good mix for me. The only real thing that has been annoying me lately is that the truck seems to un-trim itself. One second it’s tracking straight and the next it’s not. Not sure if it’s the tires warping or what but it’s annoying.

      Which kv did you go for? I'm looking at the 1412 either 2100kv or 3200kv. I want to be able to crawl without cooking it

      What motor did you go with

  • @HBFTimmahh
    @HBFTimmahh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You can get into the rx box easily without taking the cage off. Just remove the 2 skid screws and the 2 screws in the battery tray. Then you can just slide the rx box forward and down (up with the Ryft upside down. then you can access the 4 box screws.
    Easy Peasy.

    • @RiceCrisp320
      @RiceCrisp320 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don't use the 2 speed this may be viable but you risk tangling the shift servo in all your excess wiring if you leave all that wire out.

    Thanks for a nice and informative video. Just got the kit myself, looking forward to build it. How is the experience with Ryft after owning it for 1 year+?

    • @mangzrc
      @mangzrc  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Ryft was a love/hate relationship during the time I had it, I really enjoyed driving the truck and it always made me laugh every time I would drive it with just how bouncy it was. I put many many bash-sessions on it and had a great time, but I continuously broke it. The trailing arms have a weak point and break at the screw hole nearest the chassis, I think I broke 6 arms or so. The rod-ends wear out and do not retain their grasp on the balls so the links were always moving around. I stripped my servo a few times due to not running a servo savor because the kit one is garbage. I also stripped planetary gears in the front diff a couple times. It is a great truck, I had a lot of fun but the nature of the design results in breakages unless upgraded. Despite the cons, I believe you will enjoy it, I surely did.

      @@mangzrc thanks a lot 👍 Ordered som upgraded parts from Treal (metal) that will be installed when building. What a great hobby we are into, lot's of diversity.

    One mistake they made they mounted the sway bar up to high.Which forces you to use single shocks instead of duel shocks like its meant to have in the back.Duel shocks with the sway bar mounted lower would make it a lot more stable.Thats a design flaw i guess

    • @mangzrc
      @mangzrc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get what your saying, dual shocks would look nice but the Ryft is so light it doesn’t need them. It’s super bouncy just with the single shock setup.

    1415 fits just fine if you dremel out the lip on the skid....takes all of 5 minutes

  • @rcjoe406
    @rcjoe406 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you think a hobbywing max10 combo on 3s would work in this kit?

    • @mangzrc
      @mangzrc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      HobbyWing does not rate the Max10 for a vehicle like the Ryft, if you ran 2S and kept a close eye out for heat, you could use it. I still would recommend getting something more appropriate down the road, but if the Max10 is what you already have, use it until you can get something rated for the Ryft. What kV is your motor?

    • @rcjoe406

      @@mangzrc it's a 3300kv I was gonna run a smaller pinion also maybe a 14t

    • @mangzrc
      @mangzrc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rcjoe406 The Ryft has fixed motor positions so I’m not sure it will allow a 14T pinion, I think a 15T may be the smallest you can go. I would give it a go though, if your gonna run 3S be super watchful of overheating, you probably won’t get but about 10 minutes of run time before needing to let it cool. Let me know how it works out.
