- You've been requesting a curly girl method update and wash and style routine video - so here it it!
I wish I'd done it a few months ago so you could have seen how AMAZING my hair was. Unfortunately I had highlights put in and it has set me back a good few months in my journey.
Today I share how I am trying to nourish my hair to repair the damage and the products and method I use for my curly girl wash day.
DISCLOSURE The way I dry my hair is NOT curly girl approved. The wash and products I use are curly girl but I decided part way through my journey that this is MY hair and I'll be damned if a process will determine how I style it. My hair, my rules.
I have seen so many people get shamed for not using the correct products or following the exact process and I don't sign up for that sort of thing.
I hope this is useful and inspires you to carry on, whatever stage you are at in discovering your curls.

I tried this yesterday based on your first video. My hair is very similar to yours, just a bit shorter. I couldn't believe how well it turned out! The curls were great!

LOL Katy, I’ve got the custard in my hair righty now. I probably should’ve watched this a second time beforehand. My hair is so thin and I didn’t quite follow these instructions but I’m giving it a go. My hair is much curlier so 🤞🏼🤞🏼
I have to dye my hair every 4 weeks to get rid of the grey … does this mean this method won’t work for me ??
Is there a reason you don’t use the umberto giannini curl jelly anymore? Is the one from this video better? I’ve bought a few bits to start this method, just need to get a scrunching jelly then I’m good to go

Always LOVE a Katy video ! I keep my hair short (pixie ) but its wavy/curly/frizzy/puffy, swim often in a salt water pool and color it once in a while because of gray and tends to be dry.. . I think I will try your curly girl method, and see how it goes ! Thanks so much for sharing, and keeping it real ! Love your nail colors ! Omg thank you! I watched your first video and have some products ready to go in my amazon basket as a birthday treat! I have wavy hair but, its so fine, thinning and flyaway, I'm hoping for anything close to what you've achieved, so beautiful! I've taken the bold step to grow my colour out too as the alternative is waaay too damaging from what I've read. The "colour b4"...? Oh I'm exited as hopefully this can save me from my hair glumbness. I don't wash it very often anyway, and the less I do, the better it is! Thank you again! X
I’ve only found you because I’m starting curly girl method. But I realised that you do decluttering videos too. I’ve been looking up decluttering minimalist organising video for about 2 months now and I’ve never seen you before. I’m hoping TH-cam now lumps you in with those top American youtubers.

I’m new and may have missed this but how do you keep the curls for a week if you only wash your hair once a week? Just ordered some products and can’t wait to get started but scared of having to wash my hair more often to get the curl back

Born with rod straight hair and I think I first curled it in seventh grade and have been sleeping in rollers for 59 years just to get what you have naturally. LOL!
Have you tried using a light mist of holding spray and hot electric rollers?
@@momof2momof2 Electric rollers, steam rollers, sponge rollers, pivot point rollers, every roller known to mankind; hairspray, setting gel, never really used curling irons because in my 20s and 30s and working I wasn't willing to wake up an hour earlier to use a curling iron, it was still easier to use rollers and sleep with them or use electric rollers. Now that I'm retired I can get away with rolling my hair every other day or so since I'm homebound for the most part by the ongoing pandemic.
Oh bless you! It’s funny as I was born with straight hair and allllllways longed for curls. 3 kids in and my hormones sent it crazy!
