@lusciousfrenchies3254 you only get rewards if you join a pool. If you solo mine, you don't get the shared rewards. The benefit of solo is you keep the full reward all to yourself. As of may25 2024, 1800ghz earns about $2.52 monthly. That's $0.08 per day.
As a geek, I have always loved this idea but I think its much more a novelty than anything else because in reality you will never win. I believe the space and electricity can be used for something more meaningful like supporting a small up and coming coin that could be CPU or GPU mineable.
I have a mars lander as well as a R909 miner from bitcoin merch. The r909 does 1.8 TH, and I like it a bit more than the mars lander. Great video brother!
With the odds stated earlier of taking 5400 years to hit a block, this really amounts to a very expensive glowing box for your desk. Staking coins or basically any other kind of investment has 10 to 100x better returns
I have two of these and used them in an old apartment, I've since moved and now need to reconnect it / reset it, to connect to my new current wifi. Can you help? Struggling to find a solution
Good question! In my mind they serve different purposes. The reason to choose this would be because it looks cool (subjective), is small, quiet and most importantly only uses a tiny bit of electricity. It's true you get a lot more hashrate for your money with the Antminer, but that thing uses A LOT of power, which means it can be very expensive to run it long term. Hope this answer helps. :)
Wish you could do a video on smaller setups let's say if you had a 10 card rig, what would you mine, would you mine half and half etc. Sad that many youtubers went to Asics I know they go where money is but. I love the Gpu builds.
You have a 10-Port USB Hub with 6 GekkoScience COMPAC F's with Fans. Wouldn't that require a 12-Port USB hub to plug in 6 COMPAC F's and then the 6 fans? Surely the COMPAC F's are not supplying the power to the fans, right? The fans are plugged into the USB ports, yes?
Most ASIC miners make more than they cost to run in power and they are more or less plug and play (just have to enter your wallet address and mining pool). A good one I recommend is the Jasminer X16-Q. If you want to get that one, you can get ~$125 off if with code SEB through this link: bit.ly/seb-Jasminer (I also have more recommendations in the video description but this is my number 1 miner I usually recommend first).
I'm in! If I wanted 500 Mars Landers, how many cheap laptop PC's and GekkoScience COMPAC F with Fan Upgrades would I need? What specs would the laptops need to be? This will greatly increase my chances to get a block. If there's anything else I would need tell me. Please help.
I am adding antminer firmware with custom cgminer updated to deeper network AtomOS firmware. I am thinking of how many asic chips I should use without the need for external power supply. I’m thinking 6 asic chips and sealed in 3M Novec solution... We have 400,900 users connected to the network with our devices. I’d like to buy these in bulk and send them out to customers. Where should I start?
I have four of the Canaan Nano 3's now. Is there a way to get them all to mine as one unit instead of 4 separate units all doing their own thing? I basically have 16 T but I dont think that increases my chances if they are all working separately... ??
Separately is the same chance as together! It's all just about the total hashrate, doesn't matter if that's from one big miner or multiple small ones. Hope this helped :)
@SebsFinTechChannel so why do folks setup a node? I was thinking of setting up a Bitcoin Cash node and pointing the 4 to that. You're saying that doesn't really help my chances?
@@TheFutureisTheFuture the node helps with latency and also means you're not relying on a "solo pool" as you would be directly solo mining to your own node.
Good question! There is a small sd card in the Mars lander that you can plug into your computer with a usb reader (included with the Mars lander) and it lets you easily change the WiFi
Question: Lets say you buy 100 ASIC miner for 1200$ with 120TH(for example). this makes 12 PH, and by statistics you will gain 3 block per year(~650k$). How is this valid and what am I missing? With pool mining it goes around ~220k. So whats the point of doing pool mining by statistics)
@vachedavtyan9085 it all depends on your luck . you can solo mine with 12ph for a full year but you are not guaranteed to hit a block, and in that case it would leave you with no btc and huge electricity bill .. if you use a pool you are always earning btc which will help you ROI (return on investment) the cost of your asic/pay for monthly electricity biil .. solo mining is gambling .. recoup cost first

This is the best explanation I’ve ever heard describing block mining in my 2-3 years of mining.
wait...is that better than my "it's Magic" explanation?
Agreed!
Thank you for letting us know
This is the best video I have seen explaining how Solo Mining works, and how Mars Lander works! 10/10 🎉
I'm so glad you like it! 🙌
Are you still recieving mining rewards while hunting for the single block or are you just plugging in and hoping for a block and not getting paid.
@lusciousfrenchies3254 you only get rewards if you join a pool. If you solo mine, you don't get the shared rewards. The benefit of solo is you keep the full reward all to yourself.

I'm a newbie. How much did it cost? What's the wattage? Anny issues with the parts? Have you had any luck? And how long have you been mining non stop?
@@emptyfueltank it cost $600, been mining on it nonstop for 2 years. Still haven’t hit a block though. Happy Mining!

It must be pretty loud though ?
Have you mined a block yet 😂

Thanks Seb! Looking to add a mini Bitcoin USB miner to my collection. BTW, Hobbyist sent me! Ontario Canada
thanks Seb, looks interesting. I just wish it would have a small gains over time like ETH did back in the day. I will look into this

The easiest way is to power it off, take out the sd card, plug that into your computer and edit the file to add your new ssid 👍
Thanks for the video man! I feel a lot less ignorant today 😂
Just out of curiosity. You spent way over $1000 for 1.8TH? Why no Antminer S9 with 14TH for $599.99?

I think the new miner is very good for you! also RGB and heating and only max 140 watt usage, 4TH/s (Avalon nano 3)
Also love how the usb and stuff looks, but it's to expensive imo :( if they were like 20$ each i would buy 1 haha
any luck to date in hitting a block?

Can you only solo mine with it? What would it take to mine on a pool?
But what if you don’t hit a block and get money how does that work
What’s the likely hood of finding a block at 6 miners?
Roughly 1 in 93 trillion. Better odds of winning the PowerBall.
