I NEVER KNEW just how gifted he was until I saw a live video of him about 11-12 years ago playing “drift off to dream.” Within the first 20 seconds or so, he hit a lick on the guitar that made go “NO WAY” and it’s all been downhill from there. I’ve always loved some of his songs but as a guitar player, when a singer can do what he does, they become an ARTIST…I have deeper level of respect for them. I saw him in person in 2018. I credit that man with bringing them back to together. Probably doesn't deserve all the credit, but he played a part, and for that I will be forever grateful.

Started as a money making venture and turned into the greatest Rock reunion ever.
They said that they never broke up, "they took a 14 year vacation". You can tell that they had SO much fun making this video. Then we were all blessed with the reunion.

I had heard about the making of Common Thread. I forget which video channel was playing this song. My jaw literally dropped when I saw the Eagles performing with Travis Tritt. I said to myself, “hell has frozen over” recalling Don Henley’s famous quote. When I saw the clear joy of performance I knew a reunion tour was all but inevitable. Glad I was right…
I loved that this cover album and especially the video of the song brought The Eagles back together. Sadly I was unable to see the original lineup before the passing of Glenn Frey. I can only hope to see the remaining members if they are able to knock out another tour. Great cover and the video just gives me all kinds of nostalgic memories of back in the day.
I was able to take my Dad to see them in the early 2000's. He said it was his first concert and we have cheap seats (relative term even then) but it didn't matter. Felder was out by then but was an awesome show. Dad and I had a fun time. I think he enjoyed seeing me enjoy it. Good times. Love you Dad.
I watched a documentary and when Travis did the remake to this song he asked the menbers of the Eagles to join him in this video and they agreed.. This is what got the Hell freezes over tour started..pretty cool
with glenns passing the band should have made an offer to travis to become a permanent band member for what ever they would work on. touring or studio work. hes that good and really blends in with their previous work.
He's a bit raucous. Wouldn't blend with the slightly furry vocal quality of the standard Eagle. Ok, true, our blond friend is also reedy and raucous but 2 of that style would overpower the sound.

The video comes out & suddenly two months later,the band is announcing that "Hell Froze Over"? It took longer back in the 90s to line up venues & dates as well as all the other sundry needs of a concert tour & they did it in that short time without using whips on the people who make things happen?

Travis Tritt had a hell of a career… but I believe to be an Eagle for a day could never be topped.
