Oh my goodness My neighbor gave me this recipe and several others when I was 12 years old. And I have been making them ever since and I am now sixty eight! And we called them butterballs. I still have the Original three by five card with the recipe. I just made a batch tonight but will roll them tomorrow and bake them. I always hid some in a coffee can under my bed. Because I had three brothers and would never get any if I left them all in the kitchen😂

I have this same recipe. When it was given to me, I was told that they were Pecan Dreams. Someone else gave it to the person that gave it to me. Back in the 80s I would just pinch off some dough and make the cookies. A few years back I started using a small cookie scoop to make the balls. Now they all come out the same size! I always get compliments on the cookies and people always ask for the recipe.

We always had these during the holidays. Mom (and I) ground the pecans in a crank cheese grater with the hopper and the different wheels you can put in - I think it's called a mouli but don't quote me on that - with the fine wheel, and it grinds them just right. We called them pecan sandies but they were not sandy in the mouth! She always made them ahead and let them mellow in a tin for about a month. Superb.

I remember making these with my Great Grandmaw! She was slow and her little fingers would hit from arthritis and she would always father us girls to help her make them! I was about 5 yrs old and I help to roll them into balls. We each had a part in it. She had the sweetest softest voice and would sing to us while we worked! Sometimes we would all sing along! She sang so pretty and sweet! At only 4' 10" tall and 115 lbs maybe, She still could get around the kitchen. I'll never forget my Grandmaw because to me, She was like a little Angel. We always said a prayer before we started baking. It was 6 of us girls and we took turns saying prayer on cookie baking days and we all looked forward to going to Grandmaws and Papaws house! Smalls but so warm and loving. She called these cookies, Butter Snow Balls, and Us girls always called them Grandmaws Angel Snowballs! I'm 4' 10" and weigh 120 lbs. Her hair came down to her knees and was a beautiful Grey that she braided and kept in a bun. My hair comes down midway to my thigh and I keep mine braided! My Aunts always say I remind them of Great Grandmaw Margie! That to me is such a great compliment and a blessing to be like her! My Granny stepped in to pick up when Grandmaw couldn't do or anymore and she also was a shirt shall woman just as precious as her momma! My Momma also baked these Cookies throughout my life and I've continues to do it for my children, Grandchildren, and now 5 Great Grandchildren! Only 4 are old enough to eat them as my last one was born just a month ago. A precious baby boy! My daughter makes these for them and my Granddaughters are continuing with all our old great family recipes! 6 Generations of making these Cookies and Many more Old Recipes! Thank you Miss Lori for all your Recipes and your Precious time you spend with us all. I keep you and Danny in my Prayers daily along with many others. I pray for this world and all the suffering so many are going through. Its sad and I feel it in my heart but the light and love of Our Lord Jesus keeps me going. I pray for Israel and innocent people on both sides. I just pray for everybody and Mercy for the mean ones... Gods love keeps me lifted up... I love you and Mr Brown... Ya'll stay Safe and Warm... I look forward to Your next Video! God Bless. 🙏🙏❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏

I made these for last weekends family gathering! My recipe calls them Mexican Wedding Cookies. But it’s slightly different… first you just break up the pecans into small chunks . I do it with a plastic bag and a hammer lol, then toast the pecans just till they smell good. The rest of the recipe is the same but I mix it by hand and I usually do add the coconut. Also I roll them twice in the powdered sugar. I love these cookies!!❤️🤗🐝 btw, I love your champagne glass idea! Maybe add a red ribbon on the stem?❤️

Nana always made these at Christmas time! She called them Moravians. She would make date pinwheels, Angelicoes, and so many others! She always dipped them in either red or green colored sugar; had to do it while they were still hot from the oven so the pretty sugar stayed on, so it took tough hands! She didn't like confection's sugar on them.

These seem to be like a Russian Tea Cake. I give those to my neighbors every Christmas in a pretty box. You just gave me an idea though, and I am going to make them now and freeze. We are so busy around Christmas so that would ease things up a little. They look so good and with a cup of tea. Yum!

Oh my, I’ve made these for 30 years, mom made them for 30 yrs! But we like our pecans chopped, not ground. My gosh, best cookies ever. Mom called them Pecan Sandies, so that’s what they’ll always be for us.

I change them up with different things each year and I've made those a few times 😊 I like putting some candies in with the cookies and other baked desserts, as well as my fudges 😊 a traditional gifting thing I always do

I was just thinking of making these cookies yesterday for the holiday. I love them! We call them pecan sandies. I like how you made yours by puting powdered sugar on the pecans and using the food processor. I am for sure going to make some and use the food processor this time. Great timing! I have also dipped them in chocolate so the top is covered with the chocolate and they are good that way too!

This is one of my wonderful childhood memories. My mother , who is in glory with Jesus, used to make two cookies at Christmas and then fudge. She would call this recipe Kifflings or Sand Tarts, and would fill up a big cookie sheet with small crescent shape cookies. They were made like this. It still floors me to this day, how symmetrical they all were. I cannot make them like hers. One year I shortly after she passed, I was actually crying trying to make them.then I just said, “Gram, I can’t do it.”, and I made them in balls. My grandkids and my daughters do it for me now, and I bake them. They really do melt in your mouth. Lori, you mentioned you can freeze them. Do you roll them in the powdered sugar and then freeze? Or do you just freeze the dough? Thank you for showing us y’all’s beautiful cabin. I love the way y’all have fixed it up. Y’all a precious godly couple and feel blessed to get to watch your channel. May the Lord continue to bless.❤️✝️🙏

OH! Just spotted that sweet little red childs chair!!! I'm 72 and have had mine all these years and only recently passed on to little grand nephew. It survived my grandparents house fire back when I was in 3rd grade. My grandpa repainted it shortly after that. Red of course. What special memories. Ok, now onto the cookie video. Sounds yummy :)

My Grandmother and Grandfather raised me and my sister. I just recently received a family cookbook that my cousin put together. In it, was my Granny’s meltaway cookies, coconut cake, cauliflower and carrots casserole, and her Thanksgiving dressing. I was so thrilled to have those recipes! I made her dressing and my family loved it. I’m planning on making her meltaway cookies to put in goodie boxes for Christmas. Thank you for all the wonderful recipes you share.
