" that's a big one sister" my mom use to call me sister as well and just that sweet sentence brought tears to my eyes. She passed away 12 years ago and I have been missing her so much especially during the holiday season.
My Mom called me Sister, Sister Suzy and Sister Sue. We were outnumbered at home by two brothers and Daddy...I guess it was a girl-solidarity thing, but I miss it too. 🥺
I lost my mom 2 years ago, and that brought a tear to my eyes too. There were four of us girls, my little sister passed away in 1999. My mother had four girls by the time she was 21 in the early 1950’s (different times back then) so she kind of grew up with her daughters, and calling us “sister” made us giggle when we were little, but when she called us sister when we were older, we knew we were in trouble lol.
I have to thank you for all your shows. I grew up in a very small town in New Hampshire and our lunch ladies made the best food. I thank you and all the lunch ladies out there for feeding us like we were your own. This was in the 1960s and I will never forget how good it was. Anne
My daughter makes puppy chow with crispix cereal now. It's more sturdy. Also she puts it in her biggest Tupperware container and shakes it until chocolate is coated, then shake the powder sugar on.
I absolutely love your vintage pictures of older Christmas times, ladies at church pot luck dinners, etc. Brings back such lovely thoughts of a better, more sane time. Thank you, Miss Lori. 🙏
Brittney's kitchen cabinets are so awesome! Watching you guys cook all that together brought back a lot of memories from doing the same with family over the years. 🙂
I just thought I would tell you that I love your granddaughter kitchen cabinets and the whole kitchen just love love it. She looks like she knows her way around the kitchen and you don’t always see that in young women
What a treat to spend the day with you and Brittany in her kitchen. You made a great team! Boy, your day was a busy one, but the Lord certainly blessed you with the strength and energy to do all that you did. See you soon, and God bless you!
What a video this was!!! I think I gained 10 lbs. just watching it!! Oh my everything looked so yummy!! Time with family is so precious!! Love and hugs from KY!!
I feel like we are friends. Thank you for being such a wonderful lady. Thanks to your family also for being welcoming. You all have brought such warmth to my heart and yummy goodies to my home. GOD BLESS, Brooke
This cookie dough recipe reminds me of the dough for Snickerdoodles, with the cream of tartar. I’ve not found that to be a very common ingredient in cookie dough. It lends a great taste and texture to the finished product for sure. Thank you for sharing with us and thank you for being you. When I need to be grounded, or just collect myself, I head straight to your videos. Love ❤️ Whippoorwill Holler❣️
Kris I learned recently that cream of tartar along with baking Soda equals baking powder!! The best part of making baking powder homemade is that aluminum is not added which is bad on our bones!! Companies add aluminum for some reason unless you find a brand that's aluminum free.
Enjoyed so much coming along while yall did some baking !! Your daughter is precious ( and I bet that little fellow was your sweet grandson ~ he's a cutie ) 💓
Reminds me of my momma and Gramma. My Gramma was a baker and confectioneur. She would make large batches of homemade chocolates, pies, cinnamon rolls, etc . And my momma loved the holidays and would make almond Roca, chocolate peanut butter fudge, muddy buddies (our version of puppy chow), cake box cookies, and all kinds of goodies. The treats at the end were great but the time with my momma, gramma, and siblings was priceless.
Mama Lori! Thank you for sharing your family with us! What a wonderful way to spend time together AND get ready for the holidays!! Lol I hear Home Alone in your background, great choice! 😂👍🏻❤️
That was very heartwarming, when you and the family get together to bake Christmas cookies and candies for gifts. Thank you for the recipes Ms. Lori. ⛄️🎄🍪
This made me think of all the years my mom and I got together and made cookies, candies, and fruit breads to give as gifts. We always had so much fun.... my dad usually got involved too, and my husband was the taste tester. Oh to be able to do it again.... Thank you so much for sharing this, and for reviving such wonderful memories 💖
We did, too, and then as all of us girls got older, mom brought the grandkids in, too...they always had such a good time, especially decorating the sugar cookies... mom would then send us all home with a big tin of cookies🥰
You 2 made all those treats look so easy & fun ( & Yummy !! ). Love watching you enjoying family time, it brings back fond memories of growing up with mine, full of love & closeness !
Mmm mmm! Everything looks so yummy. Please thank your daughter for welcoming us into her home. I really enjoyed seeing you working together. Happy holidays!
It was so nice to see you and your daughter in the kitchen together. Baking is so much more enjoyable when you can do it together with friends and family. Thanks for the recipes Lori and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
I remember we would make cookies at school. We needed more than 900 cookies. Thank you for this video. I would like to do the puppy chow. Sleep well 😴 💓
Nothing like spending time with family. Your daughter is beautiful. All the goodies look delicious. We call the puppy food, reindeer food. Have a blessed Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season.
Glad to meet your oldest daughter very sweet. Thanks for sharing the cookie recipes - yummy!! Just know u are very much appreciated for all u do & Mr. Brown cute to see him also working w/ his grandchildren. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 too!! ❤❄️☃️
These all look delicious. Christmas time is a lot of work but definitely worth the effort when it comes time to enjoy it all. Plus all the smiles and joy from others it brings is a bonus. Thank you for having us at your daughter's home. She is beautiful and sweet. I love her kitchen too, very cozy. You sure all had a long day but glad you enjoyed together. This was fun. Have a blessed week.
We have candy and cookie making days with our whole family this time of year! We can gather up to 10-20 gals in the kitchen on these days young and old! It is beautiful memories I hope to continue to pass down for generations to come. God bless all who are watching and remember this is the time of our Lord and Saviour’s birth. Love and prayers to all. ❤️🙏🏻
I am amazed that you guys haven't started using an ice cream scoop to shape the balls. It is wonderful that your family is all together to do this. I think this is a wonderful thing to do for people you value in your life.
Mrs. Lori, I couldn't figure out where I got that peanut butter ball recipe from last year. Now, I know it was you. You must have done a video on it last year. They were a hit, too! Yummy! That's what I do every year for folks. Cookies, candies and homemade cranberry, walnut banana bread. Love your videos!!
This cookie dough is awesome. I made a batch and made some thumb prints and snickerdoodles and they came out perfect. Its just my husband and I so we don’t eat that much. I will leave it in the fridge and make cookies as he wants them. Thank you so much.
Awesome video ladies! I'm making some thumbprint cookies with the Elderberry Jelly that I got over at your local Mennonite store last month. Going to be delicious! 🌲
The way that we have been making our peanut butter balls, is 1 cup of peanut butter ( we like the crunchy), 1 cup of powdered sugar and 1 cup of crushed graham cracker crumbs. Roll into the balls and then dip in melted chocolate. This recipe adds that crunch that you mentioned in your video. :)
Can we come to yours for CHRISTMAS.????. Lots of Blessings ,. Hugs ,. and Health to you and all your family for CHRISTMAS and every wish you could ask for from Liverpool England 🇬🇧.
My favorite memories of the holidays was my sister and I helping Mother make all the Christmas goodies. I miss her so much this time of year because she loved it so much.
These recipes look delicious! I remember cooking on the holidays with family and those are some of the best memories to make!! Love how your daughter is making these for coworkers, family, and friends! You have a very lovely family! I can’t wait to make these and share! Merry Christmas to y’all and your family! We love y’all and God bless! ❤️😇🙏🏻✝️
A great video! Really enjoyed seeing you working together with your daughter and grandson in the kitchen. Brought back a lot of memories of many years ago, helping my mother in the kitchen during the holidays. ❤ Merry Christmas to you & yours!
It was fun to spend time with you & your daughter. Y'all sure did make up a lot of goodies for her friends & family. Thank you & Mr. Brown for such a wonderful channel full of happiness. Hugs!
Your daughter is precious. Such good times making cookies & candy together. Everything looked yummy. I wanted to share that I put Graham crackers crumbs in my buckeyes. They are good no matter how you make them.
How perfect was this? I made some black bean soup tonight, and my husband came up and pretty soon between your family and mine, it was writing down recipes and having a blast! Thank you for the gift of your recipes for cookies. I have all my ideas, now.
How cozy...ladies in the kitchen making treats,,, men in the living room putting a doll house together, and children running around excited for Christmas. Nothing beats being with family.
Well that was fun! Ohhh there's nothing like the "girls" getting together to bake for the holidays! It's a whirlwind of a mess to clean up afterwards, but look at that table full of Christmas delights! And, the tins of goodies make THE best Christmas gifts! Thanks for sharing your sweet day! God bless your family . Merry CHRISTmas!
For the puppy chow, It has to be hot so the chocolate will be thin to coat the cereal. I have placed it in a clean (washed) trash bag to place the powdered sugar to coat the mixture. It’s so good!!! Love, love, love you doing this with your family!! Thank you so much for sharing!
Just wanted to let you know that I made your lunch lady cookie recipe. And wow I will never make a different cookie dough recipe again. Your dough recipe was so so good. I made snickerdoodles and Hershey kisses and sprinkles and add chocolate chips and made some with raisins. One of the best cookie dough recipes. Thank you for sharing your recipe. Merry Christmas 🎄
That reminds me of the time when my mother and I would bake cookies and make candles of all different kinds and yes I understand how it is to miss your mother
Thank you so much Ms. Lori and your daughter for these wonderful Christmas recipes. I am allergic to peanuts but I am able to eat almonds and cashews so could substitute the peanut butter for one of those. Happy Holidays to you and Mr. Brown and all your loved ones. God Bless. 🎄🎄🎄
I love baking cookies and making candy with my daughter and grandkids. Your daughter is beautiful and such a cute little grandson. I love her kitchen. Your making wonderful memories. God bless you and your family. Have a very merry Christmas.
Your daughter and her home is beautiful. And nice too see mom and daughter in the kitchen making memories. Old video and I finally came across it. Thanks for sharing 😊 Barbara
Looks like so much fun. I remember making candy with my mother and brothers when we were kids. Sweet memories. Hearing Home Alone and Mr. Brown laughing with the kids put a smile on my face. Brittany is as beautiful as her mother.
What a fun video! Loved getting to see you and your daughter baking together. My son lives in a different state. He came home over the weekend and we had Christmas with our kids and grandkids Saturday. I had different candies made and the peanut butter balls are all gone!
It was a fun video to watch. Britney has a beautiful kitchen and the cookies and candy looked delicious. Merry Christmas to you and Mr. Brown, and your family. 💕
I love love love your daughter's kitchen, especially her cabinets!!! It looked like you all had so much fun together making all those sweets! So many wonderful memories to cherish forever!

I have made Puppy Chow for years; and I find it's easier to use a great big tupperware bowl. I mix the cereal and melted chocolate and peanut butter like you did, but then I add 1/2 of the powdered sugar and put the lid on the bowl and shake it. SHAKE IT ! It gets covered very evenly that way. Then I add the other 1/2 of the powdered sugar and shake it again. Voila! It's done and evenly coated. That way you don't have to wait for the chocolate to cool to mix with your hands. I LOVE all your videos and enjoy learning your old recipes sooo much. Whenever I want to try making something good, I always look up recipes from Whipporwill Holler!!! God Bless Y'all!

I use to call my oldest daughter sister and unfortunately she passed away 13yrs ago I miss her terribly especially during the Holiday season 😢
@@Luwanasue I'm so sorry. May the Lord hold you a little closer through the season we celebrate Him. 💔

Luv to see this! In Ohio we dip the peanut butter balls with a toothpick to leave peanut butter peaking through & call them buckeyes ❤
My daughter makes puppy chow with crispix cereal now. It's more sturdy. Also she puts it in her biggest Tupperware container and shakes it until chocolate is coated, then shake the powder sugar on.
This was an awesome video. Your daughter is so gracious and polite. Love her kitchen.

Me too!
Me too!!!😊
She should be happy to have a mom like you, helpful, talented and loving. :)

I just love that unmistakable sound of a Bosch. You knew there was going to be some serious baking going on when you heard the Bosch start up. :)

What a beauty your Brittany is and great job on the baking!
Soften up cream cheese in hot
Water while still in package, without the box, a few minutes makes it so easy to mix up.
Awesome video ladies! I'm making some thumbprint cookies with the Elderberry Jelly that I got over at your local Mennonite store last month. Going to be delicious! 🌲
You read my mind lol. I was thinking of doing the same thing 😊
Okay love that your daughter and grandson was in this too helping you cook that was just precious absolutely love it
