Hey Kenny! Great video, but you did something at 7:26 that I want to know more about: it looks like you did a split under the mouse cursor by typing S instead of moving the playhead. I know about the split under mouse curser action, is that how you did it? The playhead didn't move; you just placed your mouse over a couple of spots on an item, hit S and it split the item. If I try that it only splits at the playhead location.
Thank u so much for teaching me! I'm using the skills I acquired now more than ever from your channel almost solely! Your awesome * & very knowledgeable
How can you get this out of the toolbar? I switched this on by mistake and couldn't understand why I could not delete items, without the ones after, covering the space.
I thought it was some super weird and specific way to edit things. Turns out if I searched for this video before it would have been lots easier to rearrange the whole song, like when you need to make a section shorter or longer
Очень крутая вещь и нужное видео! Спасибо Kenny! Очень хочется Reaper, но есть проблема, вылетает при работе с плагинами Melda. Даже ошибок не выдаёт, на форуме решений тоже нет. Melda лицензия(
Is there any way to overwrite takes in Reaper? I'm trying to insert a fragment from a track to another track, without said track moving. I'm looking for a way to overlap a dynamic splitting over another track but everytime I paste the track, it goes behind the one currently on the other track. If anyone has an idea of what to do, i've uploaded a little sample on voca.ro/1b6n991zt3VG, I have days looking for an answer and found none
this whole time my solution was only one click away. you just saved me so much time! now if only there were a way to select every OTHER item on a track.
@steve badach : "now if only there were a way to select every OTHER item on a track." Workaround #1 : - color all your odd items in one color - color all your odd items in another color - then use this script : "Script: X-Raym_Select items with same color as mouse context (or first selected item) on selected tracks.lua" Workaround #2 : make your "odd items" and/or "even items" once, and then make groups for each Also : maybe look for that on the Reaper forums, somebody might have made something for that already
I think you repeat things way too often. I mean it's debatable if we're all 90+. Also keep in mind, people who come here are interested and soak information in. I mean seriously, when you told how to turn on ripple editing all tracks mid video, it felt like an insult.
I have a different experience than you. I appreciate the pauses as I'm a bit of slower learner. The pauses give me a second to absorb. Everyone learns differently, I guess...
Everyone has a unique cadence to their voice. I hear the pattern that you are describing, but I think that may be their authentic cadence or how they feel comfortable.
reaper is just insane. would never be able to get into this program without you. thanks a bunch!
I love it that you are not in a hurry like other TH-camrs and give the listener some time to take it all in. Thank you for this great explanation.
Wow, what a brilliant feature that is!

look out for "reaper mouse modifiers" videos

Great explanation! Thanks for all the time you put into these. Very helpful.
Thank you, Kenny. I didn't know this great feature. Be sure I will use it!
gracias MAESTRO!! from Argentina!
!
Wish I had known this before I started editing podcasts 😂 thanks as always Kenny! 👍
incredible as always. Thanks for making it simple!

That’s why I switched to Reaper 😍💪🏼
Learn something new about Reaper everyday.
Thanks for this tutorial Kenny!

Does this ripple editing technique also works with a video track?thx
Thanks Kenny
I wasted soooo much time without knowing that. It was like working with a 500-piece puzzle instead of a 10-piece one.
is there any way to do ripple editing when I change the rate of a item?
thank you so much!

thanks for this! Very useful!
I could read the manual, but I like this guys voice.
I hate the gaps in his voice. Very disturbing.
Hi!
beats the hell out of Shuffle in ProTools
pretty soon reaper is gonna be as good as pro tools for video as well
I learned, and I am using!!!
Ten minutes ago, I had never heard of ripple editing, and had no idea what that button did. Now I wonder how I ever lived without it.
TYK !
Thanks so much.
thanks!
Thanks!
you da man ;)

I disagree. Better to have things thoroughly rather than the view having to keep scrolling back to try to follow what is going on.
I disagree. I didn’t know one bit of this. Thank you Kenny.
I love the content, but dude, you have to stop pausing when you speak. It makes it more difficult to understand, not easier.
It's as if. He's talking. Starting a new. Sentence. Every time he pauses. With weird inflections. At the end of every. Sentence.
I have a different experience than you. I appreciate the pauses as I'm a bit of slower learner. The pauses give me a second to absorb.

I love it. It enables me to absorbe the info more effectively.
