My buzzball was empty by the time he hit the pizza story, and I decided to just keep count for the rest bc (again, lightweight) I'd never drank that quickly before, and was actually feeling a bit nauseous. I counted what would've been 17 extra sips by the time Ross put Arin out of his misery. My favorite story is still the pizza one, bc no matter how many times I hear it, the fact that it ends with " -and I'm allergic to _FUCK_ !!!" always breaks me

Finland isn't a big country and we tend to be loyal to our kind. 💪 I think the audience was from all over the country, I myself am from Jyväskylä which is like... atleast 3 and half hours away by train?
A lot of people are acting like this not being real is a bad thing, when the truth is it's just the nature of these shows. When it comes to skits like this one it needs to be the same each time for the purpose of time and consistency. They only have so much time for the show itself, and so removing as many random factors that you can is a must. It's still very enjoyable and fun, and I can imagine it's way better in person, but if they could I would imagine that they would do it love over being pre recorded.

Yeah. I think it's semi scripted comedy bit with pre-recorded game footage. I compared it to "Game Grumps Live! Arin finally wins Battle Kid!" from NYC and he dies in all the same spots in the same order. What they say somewhat changes, but the basic skeleton of the bit is all there, culminating in the "both of our houses" speech followed by Arin's victory. It's kind of neat how they do it.
Most of the show is prerecorded and scripted but they throw is a bit of improv. There's also a looooot of time devoted to watching audience member play while the Grumps literally just sit in chairs not commentating. Overall it's a fun experience but also feels a bit hollow and manufactured
The show was so much fun!!! The part where Dan asks for a name of a famous street in Helsinki, he looked straight at me and I almost had a panick attack and couldn't think one single street (I'm not from Helsinki but many cities in Finland share the bigger street names and STILL couldn't think of ANYTHING 😂)
the fact it's pre-recorded honestly makes it a little cooler to me. it's like game grumps wrestling in a way, knowing it's fake just makes the execution more interesting edit: it could also not be pre-recorded I was just basing this off what I saw in the comments lol
I think it's real. I saw them live and it seemed real. I think he's figured out the "run to the left edge, run right and shoot, repeat" formula down and just plays it up for the crowd.
Got to see them live and it was a blast. I was genuinely impressed how professionally they handled the stage and crowd and were focused on everyone having a good time and lots of laughs. Yeah most of it was scripted but who cares when it's a ton of fun?
I’m glad you uploaded this for us to see, but I know how they feel about people recording their live shows so it’s a bittersweet experience but I’m thankful because I get to see what their show is like
@@kasagure. because the show is scripted, and they perform the same show to multiple different cities so uploading it “spoils” the show which imo isn’t a thing because seeing it live and watching it on a screen is way different. But yeah they’ve talked about it in the past but it’s not something they often mention

@@Hydraina I agree with you. But in some cases it's complicated. If I was living in the US I would have seen them long ago. But the few time they came in Europe (I live in france) it just wasn't possible for me to go see them. So I'm happy to see at least bits of it.
He probably practiced a bunch so he could beat the boss in every show. Even with all the practice, it still looks hard. I'm guessing when he's really got his game face on it usually takes him about 3-5 tries

I feel like if there was a way to truly depict this in animation, it would probably be a 2 or 3 hour film that starts with greyscale, bitcrushed footage of the original playthrough, and then progressively gets more and more epic and tells a story about Arin and Dan going off to train for this very moment, including the Creator Clash, and then finally face off against an actual honest-to-god real 60-foot Purple Plant Monster, with epic orchestral music scoring done by TWRP, The Protomen, The Megas, NSP, and possibly Red Vox all throughout, and then it'd finish off with like, some sort of cheesyass line like "I've gotta say, for as grumpy as I started everything off, even with my best friend beside me, I feel like we've both become not so Grump. After all we've been through today, I finally realize...I'm not just another Battle Kid; I'm the Video Game Boy. I'm the one who wins." before Arin just salutes the ensuing crowd and flies into hecking orbit with his cybernetic Battle Kid parts and has unnecessary yet meaningful cameos, anywhere from Tom Cruise with a Knuckles-style Australian cowboy hat and a poor Ross accent to Robert Downey Jr. pulling a Barry, and perhaps having, like...Ninja Brian except he's played by Robert Pattinson or something and has a ton of dialogue (to further emphasize the joke?) and then foreshadow to Jonathan Tronathan sitting, tied to a chair like he's, uh, Gilbert Robotnik or whatever his name is from Sonic Adventure 2 and imply that Sonic 06 is next in like, a post-credits scene

No, I’m pretty sure it is pre-recorded. Sorry to ruin the magic a bit, but they end all their Tournament of Gamer shows with Arin beating Battle Kid, and that would be hell if he had to beat it every time before they could end the show. Just because it’s lightly scripted doesn’t make it less fun, though
Honestly, looking at the difference in gameplay between now and his previous attempts anyway, it looks like they found a rather exploitable pattern to do it anyway, so, eh? It's a good bit, with history, that's all that matters.
I would be surprised if it wasn't staged/prerecorded. It was all a bit too convenient and set up very timely lol, then again they are experts at improv. The only thing that really makes me think it was staged to some degree at least is because of the synced up lighting and music. They also likely had a schedule to keep so they couldn't have the game too long. Either way it's just for entertainment so it's not a big deal either way honestly, still a fun event
