The Grumps return to MAGFest once again and answer questions from the fans. Panel filmed by: Matt Zeher - / xarathion Nick Mauer - / dishwater63 Produced by MAGFest
As clarification, I was the one who asked for the kiss. The joke was supposed to be he says no and I pull out Hershey Kisses from my purse and ask "are you sure?", but he actually and surprisingly said yes so I went along with it. Afterwards I pulled it out the chocolate and gave it to him and he found it quite amusing, that's also why Barry laughs (: I was not trying to smooch, I wanted to just get him to laugh (but I happened to get both)!
Rishro29 It was hilarious either way & seeing Danny react like that made it even more hilarious. Now you've earned a spot in Grump history.Congrats. *High-Fives.* LOL.
Rishro29 Yeah,& I could tell you had that other joke in mind & then Danny was like,"Uh-oh,what have I done?"or something like that.It was still hilarious.
Rishro29 Yeah,it's like when he hears it he's trying to figure out what to do & then "Uhhh,ok let's do this." & then different route but still funny or something. At least you were able to do well in that huge crowd.I'd be going bit nuts,LOL.
Yeah it really sucks. I was never a huge Rooster Teeth fan and I didn't know Monty Oum's work very well but he clearly meant a lot to so many people, lots of them being people I look up to like Ross and Arin. I just dread the thought of what would've happened if Ross answered the phone knowing it was such devastating news for him.
Nicky Lebron Monty had an allergic reaction that sent him into a coma from which he never recovered. Ross recently disclosed that call was Monty's wife calling to let Ross know.
I don't think so, Ace Attorney's a game that requires a lot of focus, and the Grumps would more than likely blow through witness testimonies and get lost in the cross examinations. It would be cool to have Ace Attorney gain a little more love from a popular channel, though!
+Akane Sasu Sora rubberninja.tumblr.com/post/109929810190/rip-monty-oum-june-22-1981-february-1-2015 This is Ross' reaction to Monty's passing. He specifically mentions that moment as that call was what would have been the call telling him about Monty being hospitalized. So sad =[
+Akane Sasu Sora It must have sucked. I feel bad for him because he was doing more Grumpcade and Steam Trains around that same time and he was still depressed, people were giving him loads of shit on videos criticizing him for being too quiet and stuff. It's like people forget GG are humans.
GLink EatsWatermelon So like Toon Grumps but instead of commentating over a work-in-progress animation, there's no commentary and it's a work-in-progress Grumps episode. Can we have this, Barry?
People asking questions need a reality check most of the time. So many people here seemed to think that once they got the mic, they were the only ones in the room. These would be much better if the Grumps laid some tough love out at the start and just made it clear that it wasn't a time for hugging, kissing, high fiving, signing, taking selfies or whatever thing you want to do that zero people besides you care about. There's a meet and greet later, do that shit there. You could even see that Dan was trying to stop people doing this with his stage safety line but once 5 people have done it, everyone wants in. I'm sure they appreciate the gesture but it's a dick move to everyone else in the audience. Second reality check is that people need to give it a rest with the gifts. They get so much of this stuff that there's no way they could possibly keep it all. You have to ask yourself whether the gift is really that good because in most cases, most of the stuff in those goody bags isn't going back to Glendale. If it really is that good then again, save it for the one-to-one. On top of all that, try picking a question that they'll actually have a fairly quick answer to. There's no point asking about things like most embarrassing or raging moment, that's super obscure and not the kind of thing people keep a mental note of so they're just going to spend ages thinking and skip it. Compare that with the girl who asked if Arin had any other musical plans and that's something that's easy for him to come up with an answer to. Those questions on things like "best", "worst", "funniest" whatever might work on an AMA but it takes too long to think of a full answer when it's live.
I actually agree with all of your points. I don't get why people share gifts altogether, but I guess that's just a cultural barrier -- where I'm from, "famous" people usually don't accept gifts from fans or otherwise they're the ones that bring gifts to the fans in the form of a little skit or a special song or something along those lines. Third reality check that fans need to have is that they need to realize that Arin, Dan and the rest of the Grumps aren't their friends. I mean, I can only speak for myself, but I don't think any sensible person on the planet would enjoy being publicly forced into a hug or having your hair ruffled. What's even worse is that the Grumps have commented on things like these before, where they feel super awkward and sometimes even uncomfortable in those situations, and that more often than not those people become an inside joke or a bad memory. People, they're tired, they deal with dozens, possible hundreds of you all the time at every convention. They're not gonna remember you very well, they have other shit on their minds and if they're tired, they'll actually resent the meeting altogether. Saying this is more than enough: "Hey man, I really like your stuff. Not gonna take up your time, just wanted to let you know." In fact, I distinctly remember Arin stating in an older episode that when something like *that* happens is exactly when he goes back to the hotel and comments on how cool that was. Wanna be remembered? There you go.
Alma Aleph "In fact, I distinctly remember Arin stating in an older episode that when something like that happens is exactly when he goes back to the hotel and comments on how cool that was." Yeah, that was Super Mario Bros. 3, maybe part 4. I agree with most of what you said, but I really don't see any problem in giving gifts to them (though probably better at the signing so it wouldn't take panel time). To me it's perfectly fine and I would personally be honored to receive these things my fans created themselves about my own show. I think it's awesome! The only problem I can think is logistically since it might be a lot to take back to their city - other than that, I don't really agree with Cian on this; I mean, of course the fans think they gifts are good enough, they lovingly made them just for the grumps. And I really feel the grumps do like receiving them and I think it really shows in this video.
Shi9k The reason why it's not really a good idea to give them gifts at the panel is because it tends to eat up time. When the panel is 60 minutes long and Suzy is constantly saying "15 minutes left, 3 minutes left, we have time for one more question" to have that last question be "I have a gift" is just this deflating moment. A large chunk of this panel was "Can I get a selfie?" "I have a gift for you" "I won't be at the signing can I-" and it's really not the right setting. That's what the signing is for. If you have a gift, want a selfie, want a hug, or things like that, that's what the signing is designed for, the panel is a Q&A. For every person that handed them a gift, they took 3 minutes from someone that had a legit question. Plus...dude, that one guy that said "I'm working on something that's secret, maybe I can give you my card and we can talk later"...that's insanely unprofessional. Asking them to work with him in a situation where they can't say no in a large public setting.. That's what these panels have become. People asking the grumps for favors or to do things for them.
It doesn't matter how awkward or nervous the fans can be. Like some of them said, the Grumps mean the world to some people and get them through hard times. It's easy to get nervous or get a little greedy when you're face to face with your heroes. It doesn't matter how "normal" you are, or how much you hate other Grump fans. If you're criticizing other people for the way they are, you're the d-bag.
Just as long as us level-headed lovelies never forget that for every mean or rude commenter, there are 10 who are super nice and awesome that are probably a blast to play games and chill with - just like the people who are being called out from the video. That's what I like to think, anyway.
Dude I love the GG also, Arin is a HUGE inspiration of mine and I also would get super fucking nervous if i got to meet them, but look it from their perspective, the look on their faces also, they have been in a long flight, tired as shit then to have people asking them to dance or touch their nosetrills or getting yelled at...stop. Play it cool, is not that hard to ask them an interesting question, also there is a signing, give them your stuff there, and tell them your story via mail, is all about making them their work a little bit lighter, look at the recent responses from them when choosing a person: *people stand and scream* Arin: "Okay uhhh, shut up" Ross: "Shut up, I can't find someone when you are yelling". It is all about understanding the situation, that or being selfish and make them feel akward.
The real douchebags here are the people with the selfish time consuming requests and non-questions. I feel really bad for all the people that waited in line for hours who had real questions but didn't get the chance to ask because of this.
I feel like the most dramatic thing that could happen during one of these panels would be that JonTron would be in the audience, and is then chosen to ask his question, and he would ask like "Can I come back to GameGrumps, guys? I miss it."
It sucks knowing that the Monty oum number was calling Ross because he had just went into a coma. Ross said he cried for like an hour when Holly told him but still.managed to get through the signing.
I was at the panel and honestly, there should have been a rule in place where there was a limit of one question per person. It's not fair to the others who want to ask questions and also takes up a lot of time that would be used to move the panel forward. Side note: Danny called me Princess (I was cosplaying Rosalina).
***** Danny also called me baby during the NSP panel (I was the Tifa that asked why he was going to donate his hair) because he's made of rainbows and unicorns.
TelevisionPotato I didn't go this year, but I was at the last two and does get pretty cringeworthy. I remember seeing a guy rub his own hand all over his face after a handshake from Arin. Being at those panels is honestly pretty uncomfortable at times, but the genuine excitement from both the crowd and the panelists can be pretty cool.
I was at this panel (I was the guy with the grapes sign and the striped hat) and yes, I do admit there were quite a number of people there who really spoiled the fun of what the Q&A was supposed to be about. Things like asking for selfies, autographs, asking WAY too personal questions and trying to manipulate the situation for the purpose of gaining internet clout like... really disrespectful to those who came to be entertained. That said though, I'm appalled by most of the comments that had been made here, specifically the ones making insulting insinuations in regards to mental health or disability. Like I said before I asked my question, almost everyone in that room came to show their love and affection for all these guys and I honestly found that feeling and vibe to be completely honest within the vast majority of that crowd. I understand that this tends to be the way things go with TH-cam comments (cue "don't read the comments" sign) but I just want to apologize to everyone who came to watch this video and found themselves hurt by what so many are saying here. Arin, Danny, Ross, Barry, and Suzi do this all with love for you all, and don't let the spiteful words of the few here make you even think otherwise. ❤
I went to the panel, a lot of people with two questions and standing on their chairs made it difficult to get "seen" with an object for them to get called on, the room was packed this year and no explanation is needed, some of these fans would take a bullet for the Game Grumps. Just being able to see them live was good enough for me.
It must be awesome to see them live. I think there should be a limit of one question per person, there's so many people who want just one moment to talk directly to the grumps.
All the respect to the Grumps for how gracefully they are handling these fans, but they really need to go back to using Twitter in the future so we can get some actual questions. It also gives the Grumps the chance to pick the most interesting questions (i.e. skip all the "please play this game" bullshit). Also, I wish everyone would stop calling these people autists. It's giving autism a bad name.
Shaun Dreclin I agree, the human interaction is important. But it's very evident here that the fans can't handle that responsibly, so to me Twitter seems like the better alternative. This is a Q&A panel after all, not an on-demand performance. While I understand that people do this because they effectively have to choose between going to the panel or the signing (which could be solved with better administration by MAGFest), if people really want to see the Grumps to give them stuff and ask for hugs and whatnot, I say go to the signing instead of the panel. When the Grumps actively try to discourage the fans from coming up to the stage, still doing so is not only disrespectful to the rest of the crowd, but to the panelists who made an effort to come there to answer questions. Just my 5 cents.
I was really anticipating Twitter Q&A format but the moment Danny was like "you know how this works" I turned to my friends and asked if they wanted to leave now before all our foreheads get sore from dangerous levels of facepalming. You didn't even see the worst of it. There were people literally running down the center aisle trying to get their attention. WTF is with some people...
I understand what you're saying, but I personally would feel like it'd kind of suck for people to wait all day in a line just to watch five people read stuff off of Twitter.
To be fair, it's still a little personal because when they chose a question they ask that person to stand up. Besides, if you want a personal moment - get in line for the autographs, NOT the Q&A Panel.
Danny is way more into being the crowd type guy, he likes to hype the crowd and he's great at it because he's used to it, by doing different stage performances
1. Don't ask more than one question. 2. Save hugs, gifts, and selfies for signings. 3. Stop shouting before and during questions/answers. 4. Don't try to be funny. 5. Don't request to sing with them. It's a Q&A panel. 6. DON'T EVER ASK SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF "Would you fuck me?" (Portal Gun guy made Arin so uncomfortable I could feel it from here.) 7. Just don't waste time with things that can be taken care of somewhere else. There were so few questions at this panel I was actually bummed out. Like they said, 1000's of people came to see this panel and get questions answered and there were so many people being selfish. This is the chance to really get to know the people we all watch everyday and it was drowned out by a bunch of people being ridiculous. 8. It's snowing on Mt. Fuji.
some of them talked to them normally...i mean imagine if you have stage fright being infront of 1000+ including 5 of them being your "idols"..a lot of them were probably extremely nervous...it cant be easy for those who have trouble publicly speaking and its ignorant to think it would be...just cuz it may be easy for you to go up infront of a crowd and speak doesnt mean its easy for everyone...have a nice day
***** if they aren't prepared to speak in front of a public crowd, then they probably shouldn't have held something up and risk getting called on for a question in the first place...
***** If these people are true fans of them, they'd know that the Game Grumps are about as normal people as you can get. They're surprisingly really easy to talk to. But even a normal person will be completely weirded out if someone random came up to them and asked "would you fuck me?" Like, come on...
Obviously no Jon questions, but mainly because fans were a bit relaxed due to the fact there was one (now _two_) pictures relating to Jon an Arin hanging out. So it seemed probably an unexpected reunion between the two. A blip reviewer even posted that he saw Jon and Arin at a diner. DOES THIS MEAN.
Little Voices Yeah, there's: The first photo: 41.media.tumblr.com/4862514985d19461953f01e1eef4ea16/tumblr_niprswW9Ui1u09wloo1_540.png The second photo: 40.media.tumblr.com/40423c4744528b1a1ae4a367e773c08d/tumblr_niquexBzYk1r1aadoo1_540.jpg And then I think either after or before the first photo, a reviewer named Marc Mues posted on his Facebook page that he saw the two at a diner: facebook.com/muesreviews/posts/10155175310525584
Ta buddy :) This really is lovely to see. I stopped caring about what had happened ages ago, but I remember feeling sad at the thought that they'd fallen out. This has really cheered me up today.
Alex Castellon Thanks dude, it was very nice of them to indulge me, even though I goofed the t shirts, and 'held up' the panel.' I promise to never interrupt a panel again.
Elly Rox Fuck that! Ignore the douches that are using internet anonymity to harass people they don't know shit about. You got called on to ask them a question and express your fandom to them at a con because you went to the con. Douchbags on here are just jealous that you were able to talk to them. Keep doing what you're doing and don't let morons stop you from doing what you have a passion for.
24:04 was when I got called on! Dan even told me to be careful when stepping down, and I just realized he put hand-sanitizer on, HAHA. Ah, he's the best! MAGFest was a blast! I guess it didn't occur to me how crazy things were there. It was one of the first panels I went to, I just assumed that's how they went down. If the questions really were cringey, I must not have noticed cause I was just happy to be there. I really hope my question didn't tick anyone off, the comments are starting to make me feel a little bad.
Alright, thanx dude for giving me an inside situation of how that stuff works, I'm from Mexico and I wish that I could be there, I have so many shit I want to ask (like serious questions) but maybe some time in the future. Well if you put it like that, then its a choice (for me at least) If I go to the panel I get some laughs and maybe get to ask my 1 or 2 questions (depending on how much time it will take them to answer it) If I go to the signing then I get a picture, some high fives, get to give then stuff and thats all. Is not that is BAD man, but, by the look on the grumps faces they are getting weirded out, by some shit that other people do like "Arin would you rub your beard against mine?" (you know the ones) and also there are a lot of people in the panel too, and like Dan says, he doesnt like to see people sit down sadly because they weren't picked up. Anyway, I just wanted to share my thought and if you want to share something too, feel free, I would like to share thoughts. P.s: Dude, you can't imagine how happy I am that you posted that comment and the chance that I got to see it, really cool how you give an inside report and sharing your opinion with it.
That's so cool and dude your question wasn't bad, you actually had a good question relating to the channel. It made me mad watching people go up there like that one guy and asked "Arin would you fuck me" like if I had the opportunity I would've asked about Suzy's new gaming channel. Also, extremely jealous =D
I totally get people giving gifts at the panel because it's my understanding they didn't let as many people into the signing. But its so freakin inconsiderate of everyone else to ask more than one question, they need to set a limit. And maybe there could be somewhere where everyone can put their gifts before the panel and then maybe at the end the grumps could pull out and acknowledge their favorites in front of the crowd? And as a sidenote: Stop calling everybody autistic. It's not funny. It's not okay. And it's not even accurate.
My friends and I met this cool girl while waiting in line and she just wanted to give Arin a plushie she made and during the panel she said, "oh... I guess I could just mail this to them." How about that.
quagthias I don't understand what you're trying to say. How about mailing it? Loads of people do that too, there were only a few hundred fans at the panel but some want to go to see them in person and see their reaction to their gift or whatever. I don't see the problem with that. Fans of different things have been doing it forever.
Were you there? I was. It was pandemonium and the camera only captured a fraction of it. People were literally running down the aisle with other people on their shoulders screaming stupid stuff like "DAN I'M FROM NEW JERSEY PICK ME I HAVE PRESENTS!!!" What I'm saying is that if presents are all you care about (which seems to be the case for the vast majority of the lovelies there), you are guaranteed to get that if you wait in line for autographs instead of waiting for hours for a Q&A Panel, OR you can mail it with your picture and whatever else you want. Instead, they decide to hijack a Q&A Panel, which is Rule #1 for what-not-to-do at MAGFest Q&As.
quagthias I totally agree with that. If ALL you're interested in is giving your present than a Q&A definitely isn't the place to go. Can you tell me how the signing worked, though? Because a bunch of people have commented here saying they didn't let as many people go to that and I'm not sure if I've been misinformed. Was it an either or situation? Did you have to pick one or the other, was the signing just happening for a short timeframe and they couldn't get to everyone? What was the situation?
The autograph portion is immediately after the Q&A, and it only lasts so long. GG being THE most popular thing at magfest, you gotta start lining up early, therefore, it's one or the other. We got in line 2 hours early and were in the triple overflow section. Yeah... Honestly, waiting in line was more fun than the panel since it was just an onslaught of gifts, requests, and mostly lame questions. My friends (and the friends we met in line) just ended up talking during the panel because it was such a shitshow.
People can't leave the hugs and high fives or whatever to the signing, you can only go to one of them, you have to choose between the panel and the signing so that is not possible. The line for the signing was cut HOURS before and only a handful of people got to actually meet them bc the line was cut so early.
babelady I find it so stupid that people ask for hugs and high fives. Sure they're cool people and I'd like to high five them but I wouldn't put them in an awkward or annoying position just to do it.
The panel only has so much time, it holds up a whole room of people so that one person can get a high five or an autograph. It cuts time for questions down considerably. People want to hear the guests speak, not watch them hug/high five someone else.
Do you know what the point of a Q&A is? It's to fucking ask questions. Not for songs, or hugs, or high fives, or kisses, or to touch someone's hair, or whatever dumb bullshit these people keep coming up with. It's a waste of their time and of the rest of the people's in the audience.
@@logandh2 You're right, it was my first time in America and my first con ever. I didn't know the proper panel etiquette per say, I was too baffled to be even called on. It was also pretty hard having to formulate thoughts in my second language when I was already too nervous, and having flown 13+ hrs to get there, I though, eh what the heck, I've got nothing to lose, so I asked for a hug. I see your point though, it was selfish of me to steal other people's time, and if I were ever to join a panel again I wouldn't be "that" person.
I'm so interested in seeing the Game Grumps funny and witty answers to questions but god dammit people, kissing, high fives, selfies, whatever the fuck it is, save it for the fucking signings.
That was actually me (that asked for the kiss). The joke was supposed to be he says no and I pull out Hershey Kisses from my purse, but he said yes so I went along with it. Afterwards I pulled it out and gave it to him and he found it quite amusing, thats also why Barry laughs.
Rishro29 Haha That's cool. In my comment i mean no disrespect, its just that MAGFest happens once a year and i love seeing the grumps answer questions but with everyone asking to do stuff it limits the time that ppeople can be asking questions ya know? Btw: How was it seeing the Grumps in person?
Daniel McNamara No offense taken (: I was actually pretty disappointing there weren't more questions. I wanted to at least have a good question when I went up there (which I think my first question was quite good). It was very weird after hearing/seeing them so much over the internet but pretty awesome. Sadly I couldn't get to the signing because it was over capacity like 1 1/2 hours before the PANEL even started ):
Daniel McNamara Sadly ): Next year I'm going to go to the signing and skip the panel. I tried to go to the NSP signing (which was before the NSP panel). The panel was supposed to start at 12 so I went down near the area at 8:30am. THREE employees pointed me in the wrong direction of the NSP signing and it was 9:30 before I realized something was wrong. I found where the ACTUAL signing was and I was about 15 people behind the person they stopped saying it was max capacity ):
He mentioned in a post that the call was from Monty's wife telling him that he was in the hospital rubberninja.tumblr.com/post/109929810190/rip-monty-oum-june-22-1981-february-1-2015
***** In the case that you're claiming that a mean comment can come from someone who's being nice, then would you also claim that a nice comment can come from someone who's being mean?
Well if someone is "being mean" then they likely wouldn't say something nice, ditto for "being nice". Thats different from your statement, where you said "mean people" not "people being mean." But yes, a mean person can say a nice thing, and a nice person can say a mean thing.
I honestly don't know how to feel about these lovelies. I'm sure they all mean well but I can't help but feel a little ashamed to call myself a fan. The grumps are still human so I can only imagine how uncomfortable they felt at times with all the awkwardness. I don't know man I don't wanna be that asshole who shits all over the fan base like I'm any better because I know I'm not but damn man some of these guys just aren't aware of what's socially acceptable. On the bright side though it does warm my heart that so many peoples lives are a little bit better because of the grumps. But hey I'm not perfect either and I'm sure the gang appreciates the enthusiasm.
You shouldn't feel bad for thinking this, but the fact that you do certainly gives you a good image and, as a fan, I'm super happy to know people like you exist. I'm far more blunt about it, however. These people were immature, uninteresting, disrespectful, inconsiderate and basically made it their personal business to hijack the session at every turn. If they had done it on purpose, it would've been trolling. We can move past that; the gang can ask them to leave or, worst case scenario, have them removed by security. What's worse about this whole ordeal is that they don't even understand (or acknowledge) how disruptive, unfunny, idiotic and outright uncomfortable they're being. They were asked to stop doing that crap multiple times and they were too stupid/inconsiderate/selfish/all of the above to take the hint. At some point, you can even see Arin just space out. I'm not about to assume I know why he did it -- maybe he was just on an off day or had con-sickness -- but honestly, I'd think he's just beginning to have enough of this shit and with good reason. Imagine putting your hard work, time and dedication into a project and when you reach out to have an interesting Q&A session with the fans, really try to have indepth discussions with them, answering interesting questions and let them know things they would otherwise not get the chance to ask, and these fuckwits waste it on stupid jokes, like "Would you fuck me". It's even worse when they ask them to do stuff. They're people, not fucking puppets that exist for your amusement. God. Sorry about the rant, but this panel *really* put me off from ever advertising myself as a Day 1 Game Grumps fan. I've always stayed away from debates; I always read the stupid discussions back in the Jon era when people were complaining GGs held Jon back, or that Arin was beginning to phone it in. When Jon left, I stayed out of the whole "Jon vs Danny" discussion. I stayed out of the whole Jon conspiracies and I've made it my personal business to never be vocal about what I think about the reasons why Jon left because they are people, not a fucking drama show cast that I should openly be talking about as if I know them. But enough is enough. These people are fucking awful and the Game Grumps deserves a better audience. I seriously don't want to be associated with these people. /endrant
Alma Aleph thank you for understanding. it's good to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way. i was honestly starting to feel like i may have been a little too harsh but you're comment added a lot more to what i meant in terms of the message i was trying to convey. thanks Alma
if youve seen the ending of the projared episode today, you will have this shown again. literally entering their private space and bothering them, and trying to trick them into texting them.
I don't really know how it's a thing you can fuck up. her names practically all over the GG channel. and even if you were gonna give shirts with their name on as a gift you'd second check before to make sure they were ok.
*long sight* When I look at GG panels like this I just wish for the Grumps to just stand up and leave the room, I'd be so happy. These kind of people do not understand the meaning of a Q&A panel... Question and Answer Panel! not a Dance and let me touch your body panel. This kind of fans are SO immature, like not dick jokes immature... worse. They need to meditate the situation, the Grumps are tired after a long flight to whereverthehelltheyare(I haven't researched) and there is a shit ton of people. Okay, let's make it fast, ask my question (if posible something fucking interesting line "Dan, have you ever planned to make a serious album, like an album with your thoughts about love, topical stuff, a story you want to share or anything you have always wanted to express?" (I really want to ask him that )':, or, "Ross have you thought of returning to "game-o-verse"?" or "Guys how did you met Kevin and how did he get the job?")and get the fuck back to my sit, I'll give them my gifts at the signing, Take quick pictures and bye, I can send them a letter by the mail if I wanted to tell them something time consuming. How hard can that be? by the look on the Grumps faces they are getting tired of this, like, they are getting weirded out. Try not to be the ones jerking around, try to be cool dudes/gals more as like a friend, let them do the goofy shit it's their concept, try to be not like them and more of yourselves" please I beg you, this is truly painful to watch as a guy that can't assist at any Grumps panels yet, I have some really curious questions (not about Jon also stop that, it is also very disrespectful you look like TMZ and there is no worse scum like them) and I believe other people assisting in the panel have very interesting questions, but they just couldn't get a chance, Why?, well... you know... "Hey Arin would you let me rub my beard with your beard?" (Never ask that) like I said, they look grossed out. If someone has anything to share or add feel free, if it is something against my opinion, please write your thoughts, I'll be happy to have an open-minded conversation. - A Grump fan from Mexico
34:48 broke my heart when Ross saw that Monty Oum was calling him. He said later in his blog post that it was him letting him know that he was in the hospital. omygod ;-;
I wish Magfest handled gifts and people coming up to the stage better. This entire panel was 75% people wanting to come up to hug or high five them, and give gifts. Panels are for the fans to ask questions relative to the grumps to get to know them better.
ThomasEdge4Life according to some of the comments around, that call was someone trying to contact Ross to let him know Monty’d just fallen into a coma. (R.I.P. you beautiful man.)
Someday, as hard as it is, I may travel all the way just to see those 5. I feel like it would be a dream come true. *sigh* hope to get to see them before they retire.
Not to be a depressing bastard, but did anyone notice that at 35:49 Ross announces the "Monty Oum" was calling him. I was shocked to hear that actually, considering he died like, a week later.
+Brad Wood (Sunny) Actually Ross stated later that the call was really to tell him that Monty was in a coma. He said he was glad he didn't answer because after the panel he was told and couldn't stop crying.
Yeesh what a mess.... I totally get fans being passionate and excited, but BOUNDARIES people.... Ask a question and sit back down. Don't storm the stage and don't ask for deals and contact info.
This panel is by far the worst panel the grumps have had to go through. No wonder they didn't do Magfest this year. The Panels since this have gotten better but this... this was the lowest of the low in my opinion. 75% of the people in that audience just didn't have any self awareness or respect.
Bowser Koopatron It was pretty funny standing up there during his reaction.
Rishro29 Yeah,& I could tell you had that other joke in mind & then Danny was like,"Uh-oh,what have I done?"or something like that.It was still hilarious.
Bowser Koopatron Hahaha yeah.
Rishro29 Yeah,it's like when he hears it he's trying to figure out what to do & then "Uhhh,ok let's do this." & then different route but still funny or something. At least you were able to do well in that huge crowd.I'd be going bit nuts,LOL.
34:45 "For some reason Monty Oum is calling me... Can't talk right now, Monty." -Ross
Okay that is really, REALLY depressing me now...
:(
funny aneurysm moment
Yeah it really sucks. I was never a huge Rooster Teeth fan and I didn't know Monty Oum's work very well but he clearly meant a lot to so many people, lots of them being people I look up to like Ross and Arin. I just dread the thought of what would've happened if Ross answered the phone knowing it was such devastating news for him.
What happened?
Nicky Lebron Monty had an allergic reaction that sent him into a coma from which he never recovered. Ross recently disclosed that call was Monty's wife calling to let Ross know.
"JONTRON"
Danny: "yes, he's a person"
Well said.
Now to ignore this comment and the shitstorm that follows.
When did this happen?
WHITEPAW9 around 0:49:35 - 0:49:44
Just here to eat popcorn.
i didn't know how much i needed a Game Grumps Ace Attorney play through until this
The amount they'd have to pay attention and think would be simply too much for them.
Creslin Hauck I think it would be a good barry and ross series~
I don't think so, Ace Attorney's a game that requires a lot of focus, and the Grumps would more than likely blow through witness testimonies and get lost in the cross examinations. It would be cool to have Ace Attorney gain a little more love from a popular channel, though!
They already confirmed they're gonna play dat shit.
Maria D. i agree, i feel like it'd end up being like sakura spirit if ross was in it. i fear for maya's voice.
"For some reason, Monty Oum is calling me."
(*cries*)
+Akane Sasu Sora Especially how its during such a silly moment.

This is Ross' reaction to Monty's passing.
+Akane Sasu Sora i thought the same thing, as soon as he said it i had to check the comments
Ross is a fucking asshole
I would pay to have a show where Barry just edits the whole time. He doesn't even talk, just edits like we aren't even watching.
Barry should edit this panel. HEY-OH!
Alma Aleph
YES! Only the good bits left! Which is like... 10 minutes worth lol.
You have some good points, I agree.
this guy....this guy gets it
I actually agree with all of your points.
Alma Aleph
"In fact, I distinctly remember Arin stating in an older episode that when something like that happens is exactly when he goes back to the hotel and comments on how cool that was."
Yeah, that was Super Mario Bros.
Points to you sir for actually posting a nice and kind comment. I'm glad to see at least one person has common sense in today's world.
Except the people who ask for them to sing, for high fives, autographs, etc. Those people are all pieces of shit.
Shout out to Danny to managing with all those awkward girls omg...but that girl from Turkey was so adorable ;;o;;
Girl from Turkey? Where?
My ethnicity is Turkish btw, that's why I'm so excited
Kid Kula 43:43
Kid Kula Your country makes me hungry >.>
She's got a tumblr too, where she posts GG stuff ^^ @babelady
DAHLicious Wafflez We are delicious people, yes... :3
I feel like the most dramatic thing that could happen during one of these panels would be that JonTron would be in the audience, and is then chosen to ask his question, and he would ask like
"Can I come back to GameGrumps, guys? I miss it."
That would be in a alternate alternate universe my friend. But holy shit! Imagine that in a drama scene.
Then Arin would go, "No, next question."
Honestly though, that'd be pretty sweet.
Alma Aleph That would get a huge laugh from me. Variety is a spice or something like that.
It sucks knowing that the Monty oum number was calling Ross because he had just went into a coma. Ross said he cried for like an hour when Holly told him but still.managed to get through the signing.
Ross is fuckin strong for that one.
how does someone in a coma call someone
@@CmPuke101_ 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
i dont get it, what?
@@CmPuke101_ it was likely his wife or a friend trying to reach everyone in his contacts
I was at the panel and honestly, there should have been a rule in place where there was a limit of one question per person. It's not fair to the others who want to ask questions and also takes up a lot of time that would be used to move the panel forward.
Side note: Danny called me Princess (I was cosplaying Rosalina).
NICE GUUURL!
Rossalina is the best.
***** Danny also called me baby during the NSP panel (I was the Tifa that asked why he was going to donate his hair) because he's made of rainbows and unicorns.
Those fans are so strange.
Fans are always weird. I prefer being a "viewer that enjoys the show a lot".
Big difference.
It's a bit cringey to watch
Well, the Grumps are a bit strange in general, aren't they?
TelevisionPotato I didn't go this year, but I was at the last two and does get pretty cringeworthy. I remember seeing a guy rub his own hand all over his face after a handshake from Arin. Being at those panels is honestly pretty uncomfortable at times, but the genuine excitement from both the crowd and the panelists can be pretty cool.
Conventions.
My heart stopped when Ross said that Monty was calling him
Gave me the chills :(
That was Monty's wife telling him that Monty was hospitalized
rubberninja.tumblr.com/post/109929810190/rip-monty-oum-june-22-1981-february-1-2015
I literally stopped the vid at that point.
It doesn't even feel real
still crying...
I was like isn't he dead? Ross missed such an important call.
33:02 "Would you like a kiss?"

Thank you
The whole time I'm like
PICK THE PERSON WITH A PORTAL GUN!
FUCKIN SAME
+TheDerpSpy YES! SAME!
yes I felt so bad for him
Honestly same I came here to find another person feels the same
I was at this panel (I was the guy with the grapes sign and the striped hat) and yes, I do admit there were quite a number of people there who really spoiled the fun of what the Q&A was supposed to be about.
All the lovelies were watching the panel, all the grumps are sitting here in the comments. xD
Person "JONTRON!"
Danny "Yes, he's a person!"
I had a party in my heart when I heard Dan say that. It was hilarious.
The twitter thing was pretty shit IMO. It really took the human interaction out of it, and thats the whole reason why people go to the panel
God, seeing Ross getting a call from Monty after what I know now is just heart wrenching.
Danny is way more into being the crowd type guy, he likes to hype the crowd and he's great at it because he's used to it, by doing different stage performances
It's fucking awesome to watch
"Would you fuck me" holy shit I've never cringed so hard in my life.
exactly
1. Don't ask more than one question.
2. Save hugs, gifts, and selfies for signings.
3. Stop shouting before and during questions/answers.
4. Don't try to be funny.
5. Don't request to sing with them. It's a Q&A panel.
6. DON'T EVER ASK SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF "Would you fuck me?"
(Portal Gun guy made Arin so uncomfortable I could feel it from here.)
Fuji.
I don't get why their fanbase doesn't just talk to them like normal people..
some of them talked to them normally...i mean imagine if you have stage fright being infront of 1000+ including 5 of them being your "idols"..a lot of them were probably extremely nervous...it cant be easy for those who have trouble publicly speaking and its ignorant to think it would be...just cuz it may be easy for you to go up infront of a crowd and speak doesnt mean its easy for everyone...have a nice day
***** if they aren't prepared to speak in front of a public crowd, then they probably shouldn't have held something up and risk getting called on for a question in the first place...
***** If these people are true fans of them, they'd know that the Game Grumps are about as normal people as you can get. They're surprisingly really easy to talk to. But even a normal person will be completely weirded out if someone random came up to them and asked "would you fuck me?" Like, come on...
Lorenz Korn I think a normal person would probably be more weirded out. But yeah. Not the greatest question.
"I can't talk right now Monty."
*Cries*
That guy yelling at the back, is like twitch chat in human form
Obviously no Jon questions, but mainly because fans were a bit relaxed due to the fact there was one (now _two_) pictures relating to Jon an Arin hanging out. So it seemed probably an unexpected reunion between the two.
A blip reviewer even posted that he saw Jon and Arin at a diner.
DOES THIS MEAN.
Is there? I'd genuinely like to see them (or one of them) because it would warm my heart a little :)
Little Voices Yeah, there's:

And then I think either after or before the first photo, a reviewer named Marc Mues posted on his Facebook page that he saw the two at a diner:

Ta buddy :) This really is lovely to see. I stopped caring about what had happened ages ago, but I remember feeling sad at the thought that they'd fallen out. This has really cheered me up today.
Little Voices It cheered me up yesterday :)
You're cool and i like you. Subscribed!
I laughed so hard at 39:07 because those girls are literally the Tumblr stereotype and I spat out my water when she said "I'm a blogger"
I'm glad you thought it was funny, I'll be sure to link you to the article we're working on when it's up.
Dude.... Lmao that was paaaainfulll! Elly you're so lucky you got to talk to the grumps :)
*****
I admire how they manage to have so much patience for so many obnoxious fans.
You could say that about any fanbase. I don't find them obnoxious or annoying.
+Kuratheris Then you're probably one of them.
I loved at the end how Arin remembered that boy's name from the coffee shop. I just think that's so sweet.
At 29:30 when the guy in the hoodie comes on and says, "I have a proposition for you", and Danny says, "GO ON..." BEST REFERENCE EVVAAAAAAAARR
I now this is a really old comment, but what was that a reference to?
Well if you put it like that, then its a choice (for me at least)
If I go to the panel I get some laughs and maybe get to ask my 1 or 2 questions (depending on how much time it will take them to answer it)
If I go to the signing then I get a picture, some high fives, get to give then stuff and thats all.
Andres Perez Thanks!
That's so cool and dude your question wasn't bad, you actually had a good question relating to the channel. It made me mad watching people go up there like that one guy and asked "Arin would you fuck me" like if I had the opportunity I would've asked about Suzy's new gaming channel. Also, extremely jealous =D
***** Thanks! And I got lucky, I'm not even 100% sure I was called on.
(Arin: "Woah, where did you come from?")
jcharsch Haha!
"For some reason Monty Oum is calling me"
...:(
I totally get people giving gifts at the panel because it's my understanding they didn't let as many people into the signing.
I guess I could just mail this to them."
How about that.
quagthias I don't understand what you're trying to say.
That was our fault! We'll make sure the panel and signing are at very different times next time.
babelady I find it so stupid that people ask for hugs and high fives.
@34:50:"For some reason Monty Oum is calling me."
Being that today is the first day I've seen this panel, that just broke my fucking heart.
Rishro29 Man, before the panel even started the signing was filled?!
Yes!
I've been waiting so long for this!
Wish I could be there ;_;
"OH MY GOD ITS A DOULBE HUG"
I died
20:32 "And I know this is very strange, but Danny, can I ruffle your hair?"
I WANT TO BE HER OML XD
did anyone else catch Ross talking about getting a call from Monty Oum? And now, just a few days later, he's passed away :/ sad stuff.
He mentioned in a post that the call was from Monty's wife telling him that he was in the hospital
rubberninja.tumblr.com/post/109929810190/rip-monty-oum-june-22-1981-february-1-2015
Wow, Monty called Ross during this. Man this is so sad. RIP guy.
wow, these comment are mean
There are no mean comments, only mean people.
And the mean comments they say....? Then again, a mean comment doesn't have to come from a mean person. Hell, what's "mean" is already subjective.
*****
In the case that you're claiming that a mean comment can come from someone who's being nice, then would you also claim that a nice comment can come from someone who's being mean?
Well if someone is "being mean" then they likely wouldn't say something nice, ditto for "being nice". Thats different from your statement, where you said "mean people" not "people being mean." But yes, a mean person can say a nice thing, and a nice person can say a mean thing.
Welcome to the comments on EVERY Grump panel. These "FANS" suck ass.
7 to be exact.......
I can't believe that the call from Monty was his wife going to tell Ross that Monty was dying. RIP Monty.
I just love the guy with the super extinct yelling voice that says "DOES SAKURA SPIRIT COUNT AS A GAME? NO IT DOESN'T." and such
*Sees part where Monty calls Ross*
*Sobs*
/endrant
Alma Aleph thank you for understanding. it's good to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way. i was honestly starting to feel like i may have been a little too harsh but you're comment added a lot more to what i meant in terms of the message i was trying to convey. thanks Alma
if youve seen the ending of the projared episode today, you will have this shown again. literally entering their private space and bothering them, and trying to trick them into texting them.
thanks fam
this was very well said
at 45:25
"OMG ITS A DOUBLE HUG" XD
I love Suzy's look during the Top 5 guys question to Arin
Arin: "lets go with yer baby"
guy in audience: "SOMEONES GOT A BABY?!?!"
Awe man... it's hard to have a good time after Ross got a call from Monty.
That was Monty's wife calling Ross to tell him he slipped into a coma. :(
+Lollipoploopz It was awhile ago, but Ross said something about it, similar to this.
I feel so bad that the t-shirt with their names on it had Suzy spelt "Suzi"
That was a shame...
Not as bad as I feel. Trust.
I don't really know how it's a thing you can fuck up. her names practically all over the GG channel. and even if you were gonna give shirts with their name on as a gift you'd second check before to make sure they were ok.
Elly Rox Dude, you met the Grumps and Noel Fielding I don't think I can be more jealous of a person
RetroBroadcast
Aw shucks well thank you! Trust me I've never done anything to be jealous of, but it was fun!
34:45 Ross mentions Monty Oum calling. That was when Monty Oum passed away.
My heart.
"Oh my god it's a double hug!"
For clarrification, this is 2015, not 2013. We started in 2002.
34:47 is genuinely heartbreaking
the guy that gave ross the sonic is a model fan. polite, and knew that two questions might not be cool so he asked. fuckin awesome dude
Not gonna lie...I jizzed my pants when they announced ProJared as a Grumpcade Guest...
OMG projared ohhh
Mike Kobela U AINT THE ONLY ONE
This aged horribly.
Andres Perez Amén amigo.
Andres Perez If its the only time ever to meet your idols you whould do stuff like this if you could.
ethan cocker What, make them hate me?
no hug them,Shake there hands........stuff like that
ethan cocker yeah, go to the signing...
So no one's gonna talk about how Ross was getting a call from Monty Oum, with this timing probably about his hospitalization.
Who?
It was. Ross mentioned that in his tumblr post just now
rubberninja.tumblr.com/post/109929810190/rip-monty-oum-june-22-1981-february-1-2015
"Hey, Dan. Could I have a hug?"
"Dan, wanna hug?"
"Can I please hug you, Dan?"
I'm sorry, I mistook this for the Game Grumps panel.
34:48 broke my heart when Ross saw that Monty Oum was calling him.
He said later in his blog post that it was him letting him know that he was in the hospital.
omygod ;-;
Ross: Which way do I look?
Spectator: ALL THE WAYS!!!!!
"For some reason, monty is calling me. I can't talk right now monty." Oh how ironic that is.
LemonDino And I heard that someone was calling Ross with Monty's cellphone to tell him that Monty fell into the coma... Not sure about that tho
LemonDino Man, i know it's a sad topic but I feel this itch whenever someone misuses the words irony/ironic.
LemonDino not so much irony as it is coincidence, but still tragic.
Yeah, I felt bad going all Grammar Nazi on him. Rest in peace, Monty.
So much emotions from the people asking questions... I can't blame them! I would've been the same way, I wish I could have been there!
I wish Magfest handled gifts and people coming up to the stage better. This entire panel was 75% people wanting to come up to hug or high five them, and give gifts. Panels are for the fans to ask questions relative to the grumps to get to know them better.
"Monty Oum is calling me"
Ripped out my heart.
34:40
I dunno about you, but I think that may of been Monty trying to tell Ross.
ThomasEdge4Life according to some of the comments around, that call was someone trying to contact Ross to let him know Monty’d just fallen into a coma.
(R.I.P. you beautiful man.)
So many lovely people asking so many great questions! I hope that everyone who was able to attend had an awesome time!! :)
Seeing all these girls hug, and even kiss Danny honestly makes me SOOOO fucking jealous...
LOL! Which one is Danny? :/
Mike Rashford The one with the long hair and blue shirt and shirts.
Rinku Starr Ooooh, I see him now! ;)
Now that I know this, I see what you girls like~
Grumps from left to right: Suzy, Arin, Ross, Danny, Barry.
Felix Nilbog Yeah she told me, but thanks anyways bro, really appreciate it!
I love that Barry, Suzy, and Ross are actually on the panel this time.
Gut wrenching to hear that Ross got a call from Monty, considering the news today
I just watched the Monty Oum Roosterteeth live stream, and I went to this video immediately afterwards. When Ross mentioned Monty, it broke my heart.
34:53 "For some reason Monty Oum is calling me"
Rip Monty
After today, that part at 34:50.. Ross' 'for some reason Monty Oum is calling me.' pulls at the heartstrings.
48:34
Freaking Gold from Dan
When Ross said Monty was calling him I got immediately super sad. Rest in peace brother.
Now I understand where the rules come from lmao
Imagine how different the panel would have gone in Ross had answered the call.
45:06 AW MAH GAD ITZ A DUBL HUG
That girl who ruffled his hair better share the experience with the world because if not it would be such a missed opportunity
They should really get more guards to control the crowd. This was a madhouse.
And what is wrong with the guys who keep yelling in the background?!
+Brad Wood (Sunny) Holly received the news and told Ross after the panel and he was crying on the balcony for a long time afterwards.
"For some reason Monty Oum is calling me."
Oh....
Feels
Comments:
75%: JON JON JON OMG JON
25%: Lol some of those fans are stupid.
'For some reason Monty Oum is calling me...?' - 34:48
MY HEART-STRINGS
Yeesh what a mess.... I totally get fans being passionate and excited, but BOUNDARIES people.... Ask a question and sit back down. Don't storm the stage and don't ask for deals and contact info.
Watching this now, my heart suddenly dropped when Ross got that call from Monty Oum and had to ignore it. Shit it's scary how quickly things happened
Is this whole panel just folks asking the Grumps to repeat quotes and people giving them presents?
9:57 after Dan told Ross he could go to the sonic orgy, a guy just screams "what the hell?!" And i fucking lost it
This panel is by far the worst panel the grumps have had to go through. No wonder they didn't do Magfest this year. The Panels since this have gotten better but this... this was the lowest of the low in my opinion. 75% of the people in that audience just didn't have any self awareness or respect.
like the whole first 25 minutes I was internally screeching for them to call on the guy with the portal gun
I love how Arin just seems to get more and more annoyed xD
My heart broke when Ross said Monty oum is calling me
It was even worse in person... O_O
"JONTRON."
"YEAH, WOO!"
"Yeah, he's a person!"
Oh wow. If I knew laughing would be captured from the mic so well, I would've stepped back. Sorry guys!!
When Monty Oum was calling Ross at 34:49, I almost cried..
