I grew up listening to Jim Ladd, and he was definitely in a class by himself. He blended tunes like no other… he didn’t just spin tunes, he arranged them together in a message form that made you think. RIP Jim…

When I first heard this song, I thought, "Sounds like Jim Ladd." As teen in California, Jim was as integral to my radio experience as my favorite bands were.

RIP Jim Ladd.....Best known as veteran radio DJ on LA rock stations KLOS & KMET and also the host of his own show on Sirius XM's "Deep Tracks"....Tom Petty would listen to him on KLOS in So Cal which inspired his hit song "The Last DJ".....Jim Ladd received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoring his impact in the music & radio industry in 2005.

Back in the 1980s, in Central California, I had my stereo hooked up to cable so I could hear KMET and KLOS and that voice. He will be missed!

    Damn, another great one gone.
I know that nothing (and nobody) lasts forever, but as time goes by, I feel my own time growing shorter as everyone from my youth begins to disappear.
RIP, Jim, thanks for all those memories and the extensive rock education you gave to all of us. Thank you.
    ✌🏻❤️📻🎧🎶🤟🏻

Jim presented Tom Petty on this tour at the Forum in LA California. I took my son to the show and my son loved My Names Joe which is the punch of this album.

Thank God for Sirius Xm and Jim Ladds freeform radio. I havent listened to commercial classic rock radio in nearly twenty years. And last time I tuned it in accidentally, they were playing Sweet Home Alabama. It took SiriusXM for me to realize Skynyrd, Neil Young, Doors etc had more than two songs in their repertoire.

College Radio, Rodney Bingenheimer, I can think of better “forms” of radio than “free form” and that doesn’t include playing NEW MUSIC by a bunch of artists in their 70s or 30+ minute pretentious intros to a show known as “Headsets.”
