Brian does the harmonies as well, but they never show Roger ( the drummer ) on camera. Hitting all those high harmonies. Also singing in unison with Fred at times. To create the overall rich, full, sound. Brian's guitar work is nuts. That said. I feel like Roger was completely ignored by the camera. Even Deacy is on camera singing.

When Queen had been together for 13 years, in an interview Freddie attributed their longevity to the fact that all four of them wrote very different styles of songs and they all had equal input into the music. For this concert, Freddie wrote Bohemian Rhapsody and Crazy Little Thing Called Love ( in about 10 minutes in the bath, Freddie said), Roger wrote Radio Gaga, and Brian wrote Hammer to Fall, We Will Rock You, and We Are the Champions. This is the only band I know of that all of their members wrote hit songs. They also also all held college degrees. And Freddie designed the Queen logo. Cheers ladies, you're adorable!

Awesome reaction guys! There was around 72k people. This was not really a Queen crowd per say. This concert was done for charity, to rise money for a famine crises in Ethiopia. Queen were only announced when all of tickets for this concerts were already sold. That is what makes it even more amazing, 58 artist performed that day. Everyone only had 20 minutes to perform, on the same stage, with the same sound. A lot of big artists performed on the day. This is biggest concert of all time, there was 72k people at Wembley and 92k people at JFK stadium in Philadelphia. This concert was watched by 1.9 billion people around the world at the same time, it was about 40% of the earth's population. We will never see anything like this again very soon. Queen stole the show. Live Aid is now mostly remembered for Queen's performance, and these were not all Queen fans. For another great performance check out the White Queen live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 th-cam.com/video/f8usNj4x9NA/w-d-xo.html.

Some people got VERY rich that day as that stadium held 100,000 without those endless thousands , on view, on the pitch. Even if you subtract 30,000 for areas closed behind the stage that is still 70K + All those you saw..lol

Freddie wrote "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" in 10 minutes while taking a bath (the idea came to him and he yelled for someone to bring him a guitar). He only used 3 chords to write it claiming it was because there wasn't much room in the tube. It was a tribute to Elvis and his rockabilly style.
BTW - all the tickets to Live Aid had been sold BEFORE Queen was announced as being on the venue. This was not a Queen audience. Most of those in the audience were younger and more fans of Madonna or Wham than Queen but Queen was able to capture them. They stole the show.
FYI - LIVE AID was a duel-venue music concert held jointly at Wembley in London (72,000) and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia (100,000). It ran for over 16 hours with some 60+ musical acts that were broadcast worldwide using 13 satellites (something that had never done before) with a broadcast audience of 1.5 Billion to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia.

Loved this reaction! Thank you! If you enjoy Freddie's tone (and who doesn't) check out some of his vocal diversity. I would recommend the studio versions of Cool Cat which has Freddie singing in falsetto and a song called Seaside Rendezvous. The latter having several vocal gymnastics from Freddie and Roger that has them sounding like musical instruments. Neither song will get many requests but I assure you Queen fans will appreciate. As will the both of you. Cheers!

It shows how awesome Freddie was that so many reactors assume that he is covering and Elvis song! He wrote this original song in tribute to Elvis in10 minutes in his bath! How amazing was Freddie to come up with a song to tribute to Elvis that everyone thinks was Elvis?! Amazing! So versatile!

A couple of old age pensioners in the UK here. We saw Queen's performance on the TV in 85 and were blown away by it. Short but sweet. Still the best live performance we've ever seen. We both loved looking at your reaction to the show. You're two beautiful girls.

hi ladies, lovin' your reactions :).....further to what Zenobia's said below(all true) it's staggering to think Queen weren't even originally on the original bill...LiveAid's instigators, Bob Geldof and Midge Ure,didnt particularly like Queen and were added later...Queen's career was on a slide,Bo' Rap' had been 10 years earlier, and their album sales were in decline...Z is right, everybody had strict 20 min slots and nearly everybody kinda lamely went through a few of their hits rather shoddily with a few sound probs here and their..only 1 stage so setting stuff up for diff acts was tricky...Queen realised it could be a great chance and rehearsed furiously in the days leading up to Saturday, checking their timings to get as much as possible in and be tight....and they killed it....it was a beautiful day and Queen stole it...they never looked back after that until the end.Cheers nemaste Ken

What makes the crowd interaction even more amazing is this concert wasn't even a Queen audience...they were there to see all the different acts on the same day! Shows what a performer and incredible talent Queen and Freddie Mercury are! Please react to more Queen songs, I really enjoy seeing them!

Happy New Year Ladies .... you two are adorable. All the artists were given 20 min each and Queen took it seriously & practiced for a week or so to get their 20 min set perfect. Most of the audience didn’t know Queen was even going to be there. Freddie was told not to perform cuz of the nodules in his throat!! Hell no - Queen did & it went down in history as one of rock’s greatest performances. It was truly Freddie’s day!!! HAMMER TO FALL was used in the TV series “Stranger Things” recently. WE DO LOVE FREDDIE!! Let’s give a big shout out to Brian, Roger, and John who are brilliant musicians themselves. 💕👑 Btw, the bending over with his bum to the audience is Freddie’s way of saying “kiss my #ss” to their former money stealing manager!! 😂 You guys need to do LOVE OF MY LIFE live in Rock n Rio 1985.

Here is some history for you about Queen: 1) Freddie Mercury was sick the doctor told him not to sing, but he went against doctors orders and scarf down some vodka and performed 2) Lady gaga got her name from that song radio gaga because she love queen she is a big fan of Freddie Mercury 3) Queen stole the show and some people who was there did not want to go after them because they know they put on a show. Legends never die Freddie Mercury is & always be a legend

Great reaction ladies. :) My husband and I were stationed in England in 1985. This fundraiser lasted days and although we weren't able to attend the concert in person, it was televised 24/7 for the length of time the fundraiser was held. We watched as much of it as we could (when we weren't on duty) and I'm so glad I was able to be a distant (but close) participant in this iconic and historic event. 80s music is the best and Queen one of the best of all time. Thanks for sharing.

Freddie Mercury will always remain the King of Queen. Best rockstar ever, he is a gift. However, another singer is walking along his lines and his name is Dimash Kudaibergen, he is a singer from Kazakhstan. Freddie would have been very proud of Dimash, had the former still been alive. I would suggest you should check out Dimash Kudaibergen.
