    As an Australian frog keeper for 20 plus years who has failed miserably at some attempts on making my own backgrounds I really really appreciated this video, the use of Australian products is a huge help and guide for my future projects and you
    mentioned some of the areas where I went wrong (foam peeling off 😅) Great easy to understand video, Thanks for uploading.

      Thanks for the feedback mate. I’m glad it’s helped you out. Tanks cranking along these days. I’ve have to trim the plants heaps.

    Beautiful enclosure man. I like the idea of the doser pump for the rain system instead of just a regular pump on a timer or whatever.

    Came out great 🙌👍👍 I’m in the process of doing a giant 200 gallon Paludarium for my group of breeding red eyed crocodile skinks and can’t wait to show it off and would love to hear your opinion on it when it’s finished. I’m definitely going to use some of your tips to get it looking amazing like yours. Well keep up the great work bud I hope you have a great day and hope the family is doing great as well 🙋‍♂️✌️

    There's a neat little technique you can use to fasten the hardscape in place instead of resorting to tape or string or supports. I saw it on a Troy Goldberg video, his channel is awesome. You use liquid super glue and pieces of cotton balls. It's creates a reaction that generates heat. It dries fast and strong, and of course it ends up covered in foam, but persona, I think it wouldn't be too conspicuous if you just wanted hardscape mounted on clear glass.You only use a very small amount of cotton and it dries remarkably strong.

      I’ve seen that technique used heaps actually. Especially in marine aqua scapes. And troys channel. I just wasn’t sure about the fumes. Thanks for the tip!

    Looks good but I’ve got a few things to consider. If you look at the safety data on that tile pointing it says ‘Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects’ on the second line. I use it for rocks and hides and stuff for reptiles but I wouldn’t reckon it’s great for frogs, especially seeing as though there’s water running over it constantly and collecting in a reservoir. Not sure what kind of chemicals it may gradually leach into the water but it could be potentially problematic. I’d probably coat it in some crommelin clear pond sealer as a safety measure so that the water isn’t ever coming into contact with it. Secondly I was thinking with the rain system, if those T joiners are cheap, why not just add them around the loop pointing down as the drip points? I reckon you’d get more consistent drips across the area and you wouldn’t get that effect where the drips form together on the line before falling as larger drops of you get what I mean.

    • @BeachesScalyBeasts
      @BeachesScalyBeasts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s really interesting. I haven’t seen that myself. I know if people using it to make aquarium backgrounds as well without issue.. yet that is. Thanks for the info.
      Not a bad idea with the joiners as the drip points. I suppose I just wanted a more natural, random feel to it.

      @@BeachesScalyBeasts no worries, yeh I personally wouldn’t have a clue what chemicals it has in it or what it potential issues could be. I just always read through the labels and when I read something like that on the packaging a red flag goes up.

    I have to ask how do you like get your pet right led uvb forest bar ? Have you tested uvb from it like what uvi you get at certain distance ? Thanks 👍 great video and enclosure

    • @BeachesScalyBeasts
      @BeachesScalyBeasts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Bernard. I haven’t tested it personally but have had it tested in front of me back when I was in the reptile shop. I can’t remember all the outputs off my head but it had me interested to try one of them out. I still love the t5s personally but they chew through the electricity. That’s why I went with the LEDs over the frog to seen what it’s like. The frog seeks to bask under it as well which I find interesting as she never did under the t5 she had.

      @@BeachesScalyBeasts very cool I am sure on the box they give recommended distance from the led bar ? This first time I've actually seen a long led uvb bar I love in the states but I can buy get your pet right uvb led fro .stefmar pet care I will just have use a voltage converter to run it we have in the states zoomed uvb led but it's no.where near as a long led bar like get your pet right but that's very neat your frog is basking under it and really wouldn't under t5 uvb I love t5 myself arcadia , and company called leap habitats make t5 that's are unbelievable thanks for getting back to me greatly appreciate it thanks 👍

    I’m thinking of doing something like this for 2 Peron’s Tree Frogs I am getting. What do you recommend for the lighting? Peron’s would only need the UVB/LED yeah?

    • @BeachesScalyBeasts
      @BeachesScalyBeasts  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’d recommend some 6500k LEDs for the plants and a uvb bar of sorts whether that’s led uvb or t5 uvb. I wouldn’t bother heating perons Personally.

    Instead of the tile pointing would I be able to utilize super glue and glue coco fiber to the expanding foam?

    • @BeachesScalyBeasts
      @BeachesScalyBeasts  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve seen and done the silicone and coco fibre method myself. I found it very messy and not very durable. I haven’t used super glue for the same method personally so couldn’t suggest whether it’d work for you or not.

      @@BeachesScalyBeaststhank you for the fast reply and info. What you've created here is incredible. I had a few red eyed tree frogs about 20 years ago and they all inevitably got sick didn't make it after a year or so.
      I am now wanting to get back into the hobby with vietnamese mossy frogs, however, I want to be absolutely certain that my enclosure is something I can maintain without illness or injury to the animals.
      I think what I'm going to end up doing is building a vivarium and see if I can keep it stable for six month before introducing any frogs into it. I really just want to make sure it'll be a safe and healthy environment for them or I'm not going to get the frogs.
      Anyhow. Thank you again. Going to check out your cleaning and maintenance video now.
