The resort in Ko’ina is probably superior, but it’s so far away from anything and you need a car. I’m glad that they have a location in Waikiki because it’s the area where everybody wants to be. If you want to be well connected to activities, be able to go shopping, dining, or take a short trip via Uber.
We plan to stay here but just a few nights. My husband has never been to Waikiki other than a few dinners.
I don't mind the Pulse/ City Collection concept. Its just another way to use points. We do periodically stay in Waikiki, so this will be a nice option, particularly as a change of pace from the HHV.
Much better restaurant options than Ko’Olina. You don’t need a car. The shopping options are plentiful but out of my price range. However, the location is not my favorite as I would like to be facing the beach to see the sunset every night from my resort.
Why would anyone stay here instead of Ko Olina? When I visit NYC I want stay in the middle of the city. What is the draw of staying in central Honolulu?
Because it’s in the middle of Waikiki,a couple of blocks from the beach and Ko Olina is boring and in the middle of nowhere.
It is great to have different options. My only concern is with the high price points it will cause a lot of new points to be sold where most people aren't looking to book Waikiki and it will make point booking availability much harder for other resorts.
@@justsayin7314 True. Waikki has some culinary gems like PF Changs and Cheesecake Factory. :)

Poor choice. No beach or views, not really in the heart of Waikiki either. They didn't really need any more in HI, would really have preferred a new island/location in the Caribbean.
I would suspect their acquisition cost is less than half of what it would be for them to build the property on the beach. Is there even any beachfront land left on Waikiki beach? I agree though, another resort in the Caribbean would be great!
