You know Timeshares are terrible when it appeared in the movie Shrek 3, when Shrek was feeling sad and Donkey said, “what’s the matter Shrek?” Shrek replied, “I signed something I shouldn’t have sign” and Donkey replied, “Oh, you signed up for one of them timeshares?” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Change your credit card and don't pay them a dime more. If that doesn't help, seek legal advice because there's no way you should sign up for something you cannot cancel. @@richardtc3

That was from Shrek Forever After, h the 4th Shrek movie.
There are plenty of stories about how bad time shares are. I work in an industry where I meet with people signing up for timeshares and the reasoning the salesman usually gives for why they should do it has become “pass it on to the kids”. Which includes the annual maintenance fee of $2500 or more which alone can cover the cost of a hotel stay nearly anywhere in the world for a weekend.

When my parents were first married, they were vacationing in Hawaii and were invited to one of these time share meetings. They offered a nice steak dinner just for sitting in on the meeting so my father said yes. They went and enjoyed a wonderful meal and listened to the pitch. When done the by asked which one they wanted and my father said that he wasn't interested. The guy became indignant and insinuated that they were obligated because of the meal. My father thanked him for the meal and told him to kiss his ass and then walked out with my mom in tow. They were also smart enough to not fill out any paperwork.

These are low IQ people. These people are not sophisticated. They don't have the level of sophistication to go and cancel the line of credit that they were (apparently) criminally offered. Senator Elizabeth Warren's silly little CFPB agency is supposed to protect these unsophisticated people from signing up for things they don't want and will never use. Problem is, Sen Elizabeth Warren does not care if these two people live or die because they are probably Trump voters and she only wants her agency to protect people who vote democrat.

My question would be, ummmm, why do I need to fill out a credit application
They said we were there 5 hours
At the end of the news cast, they said they were there 3 hours ..
      Which is it?
The income is 60,000 on the application
They openly admitted they didn't make that $$
But, the qualifications clearly say combined income of 60k or more, so they lied to take the presentation to get free shit.
Sounds to me like these idiots had buyer's remorse, and they wanna play the blame game and cry baby and try to slander a company ...

What credit bill? This story stated Hillbilly Bob was approved and received a $15,000 line of credit. He didn't buy the timeshare with it. And if he doesn't go on a spending spree at Walmart, there won't be any bill. The 15k will just sit in a bank and wait for him to need it one day. When he decides to use it, then he'll get a bill, fees, and interest due. And if he's got shaky credit, and they managed to get him approved. It may actually help improve his score. Provided he doesn't use it.

However, look at how he writes "6" in his phone number vs. the "6" in "$60,000". They are completely different. It is likely that the income information was filled out by someone else, but these people still gave up their social security numbers and other information. I learned to walk into a venue or grocery store and stare straight ahead and ignore the heckling calls from the people in the booths saying, " come over here, talk to us, we have a deal for you,". We hadn't been to Branson since 2016 and I don't remember there being so many of these booths around town. They sure were everywhere we went this trip. We were almost going to go to one presentation and they said sit thru the presentation and they would give us a $100 visa gift card. I expected a plastic gift card. She said he could also sell our "bonus week" we would receive with a Colonies purchase to take care of the bill and the maintenance fee. We believed her. When confronting Colonies on these illegal practices, Colonies argues we had seven days to back out. They also argue that if we had informed the Closer that Jackie told us we could sell our Westgate easily, the Closer would have stopped the sale. Really? These people have broken Virginia law which forbids bait and switch tactics as well as fraud for profit tactics to make a sale.

...idk why wouldn’t they ask for copies of everything they sign?? I always ask if I can get a copy too. I like business that offer to make me copy or have copy for me.
Once when I was at the dealer, I told them I was gonna go for my bank’s loan. We sort out everything and I was taken to the finance office. Got there and the guy handled me a long sheet of paper, asking me to sign. I glanced at it and asked what it was. He said, it was to accept their bank’s loan since it offer a lower APR. He probably expected me to blindly sign it. I immediately said no, I already decided on my bank loan. He made a rude comment that I didn’t bother to reply back to. I was young and naive when I bought my first car - but at least I read everything I am gonna sign my name on and they were professional enough to give me copies!!

This whole story is absolutely ridiculous. Jeb says "It's a mortgage loan. I can't afford that". It's not a mortgage, it's a free line of credit. He's a moron. He doesn't even know what he's got. And the news station is playing along. They're not helping him, they're exploiting his stupidity for ratings, the same as the Wyndome salespeople. He didn't buy the timeshare, so there's no debt to pay back. The LoC lays in a bank until he decides to start using it. IF he knows how to manage credit, it's a wonderful thing to have. The improvement to his credit score for an unused 15k LoC will far outweigh the initial ding for the inquiry. The sales people used some questionable sales tactics, but this guy wasn't scammed. Except for his free gift maybe.

If you just went to a timeshare presentation and signed the contract look through it you have the right to recission governed by the contract and the state you bought the timeshare...act fast...different states have different time periods from 3 to 10 to 14 days to cancel the timeshare from the date you signed it. You have to do it in writing and send certified mail return receipt plus send the owner packet or materials they gave you. Follow the contract instructions as to where to send the letter. The date you mail it out or time stamped by the US Postal service if it is in the rescission time period is what counts...then the company has to cancel and refund you your money. If you dont do it in time you are stuck and have to get a lawyer or go with timeshare exit team. Be careful these timeshare companies are sneaky they give you a more detailed contract and dont review it with you burried in these contracts are language that you waive your right to class action lawsuits etc... Rescission is the cooling off period that the federal government allows you as the buyer to change your mind
I cant emphasize enough to read the contract and act immediately if you are in the rescission window to get out of your timeshare before it is too late!

My wife and I purchased a timeshare from Fairfield Resorts (now Wyndham) back in 2002. I realize that many people have got into a timeshare, and wished they didn't. I know this may be hard for many of you to believe. But, we have loved using this every year. Now, if you like the concept of owning (We were not aware of this when we bought) but, feel the price is to high, buy on
the secondary market. Ebay has great listings. Just do not buy into fixed weeks. Only consider points that lets you remain flexible.
But, keep in mine, you will still pay yearly fees. To let you know that this is possible, my son has a tiimshare that can be used in various places. One of the locations is at Lake Tahoe. He paid less than thirty dollars for a one bedroom, but does pay his yearly fees like any other owner. If you are really interested, look into magazines that teach about the secondary markets.

We lost an entire day saying No after No to multiple people after a while you get tired and hungry and start actually listening to them. They kept promising us the world and made us think we will be investing in the holy grail. And we fell for the scam. Wyndham people are liars and scammers. They told my husband and I if we give them our info they will not run our credit, its just info they need upfront. And shocker they ran our credit. As of today, we are still paying for the bullsht that we have not been able to use a single day. Knowing what we went through with Wyndham, I believe every single word this guy is saying. because everything the Wyndham people sat on that chair and told us that day was complete lies. and getting you tired is their way to make you sign paperwork without you even knowing what you are signing

Okay, want to hear my true-to-life Wyndham experience? 1st of all i was a VIP owner until i was scammed out of the best timeshares 9 years ago. 2nd- let me tell you that if you're an owner and wondered why it is tough to book your vacation, it may be that they're still renting out vacations in your properties. I found that out touring "new properties". "When can owners start booking here?" "After we're done renting the properties and all the ownership paperwork is completed." My "ownership" was Las Vegas and Orlando. 2 hot spots. Because i was in the armed forces in Wash. D.C., their new Capitol Harbor property had a numbing appeal to me. So during a stay and presentation in the Poconos sales person Casey Foreman stole those 2 properties (meaning he conned me into giving them up) and conned me into purchasing Capitol harbor. Before i was into Wyndham for $40k. Owing $14 for the previous purchase. This new purchase cost $28k. By the way i never visited the D.C. property.
These presentations lasted always more than 3 hours. After being fleeced, and paying dearly, i learned to use them. I'd ask to see new properties Wyndham was developing and purchasing. So they'd take us on a tour to new digs. I'd sign the contracts, take the free? gifts and within 3 days cancel everything. Did that at least twice after the Casey Foreman burn. During a Myrtle Beach presentation, salesman Hank told my woman "You can go to your room." Because after sitting there 1 1/2 hours she wanted to leave.
This was life changing. I took an early retirement. Filed bankruptcy. And will live with the consequences. To unload the timeshare. Paid another $2k to a timeshare rental outfit which was another loss. Good Luck, everyone.
