@@southendonseaarts absolutely. Many retailers have already started offering ‘Black Friday deals’ and y’know what, the deals. They aren’t that good at the moment. There’s going to be all sorts being thrown at us until the new year now. Just certain buzz words they like to use to try and get everyone sucked in. Black Friday / cyber Monday / prime day… it’s all generally the same crap.
In Denmark, Black Friday has largely become Black November. There are things that are significantly cheaper than at other times. Last year I bought some ps4 games for under 50% of what they otherwise cost before and after Black Friday. They now still cost 50% more than what I paid for them during Black Friday. But if my TV breaks in February I probably won't wait until Black Friday to buy a new one no matter how much I save. There are good offers, But it is difficult to see through. Many so-called offers are things that would have dropped in price anyway. Don't impulse buy, but if it is something you would have bought anyway and can get it at half price great. Especially if it's not something that would have fallen in price anyway. The idea of a list is a good idea to prevent buying regret or Impulse buy 👍
@ same in the uk, for the bigger electronic items a lot of the chain stores are already advertising them as Black Friday deals. The smaller items will generally kick off the week of Black Friday along with a few digital subscription service offers. I’d love to see some games on offer. Holding out for a price drop on PS5 and hoping for a couple of particular games for that. Hoping to pick up some bargains but also not get swept away in the hype.
@@gratefulblac I’ve seen them doing it the past few years. I just wish that folks knew a little more about what they’re getting for their money. They’re ok TVs for the price but you can’t expect performance and function over spending that little more. Those Polaroid ones just don’t seem to last well.
@@popcornandhorror how could I not for Number 5 😂 Pulling the clips just makes me want to watch stuff again. There will be blood one. I saw and watched that entire scene again when I should have been editing

This is the first time in years I didnt budget for Black Friday deals, with the closest major retailer doing away while physical media and thrift stores and pawn shops not participating (even if they do sell physical media) it's just not the same going out and buying something for the occasion of it. Seeing the specially made black friday kiosks, checking the discounted rates and bringing home a stack of newer movies for a great deal. Without the crowds and sales it's just any other day, I didnt plan as well as I could have and wasnt feeling it this year.
@@RidleyCinema I’ve not really jumped at anything on a Black Friday sale for a good couple of years. This year though, couple of things I am looking out for… but if the price isn’t right then I won’t dive in for the sake of it (at least I hope I don’t). There’s a TV I want to get for the kids game console corner, I’ve had my eye on the price for a while so I know the max I’ll pay out. Then there’s a few movies on my list but will only go for them at the right price.
Good solid advice for sure if anyone wants to get into the temptation during this time of year. I always keep a list on my iPhone for when the time comes since I’m laser focused on what I want and I don’t have a tendency to rush either or else I’ll have buyer’s remorse later on.
@@lippmb78 Ive done the buyers remorse thing in sales before. Going back a few years there used to be a shop close to where I worked called Fopp, they used to sell DVDs at £2 or £3 each, I used to go and scoop up arms full. The shop still exists today but prices aren’t as reduced as they used to be… perhaps a good thing. It’s a funny time of year for the crazy spending urges.
@@iloveblue7920 there are some decent deals out there to be fair. Lots of the subscription services seem to run some pretty solid offers. I think as long as you’re well researched you know if it’s a good deal or not. I don’t think I got anything last year. Hoping to get a couple of bits this year but going to make sure they’re decent enough deals first.

When taking about movies and series, there are not much happening in prices 🙄 at least where I usually buy stuff. This year dont even bother to go searcg big discounts. Need to buy some empty dvd-cases and thinking about ordering tv-series, Brokenwood Mysteries, boxset that cast about 120€ ...well, still thinking about ordering it..
@@DVDhoarder I’ve got a list I’m trying to stick to. Trying not to get too dragged in when the discounts start happening. Keep tracking those prices, everything drops at some point.
Always tracking prices 🤓 but in this Brokenwood - case dont think it helps anything. That series is New Seeland origin and usually movies and series from that direction never get cheaper, only more expensive. Might order that boxset after new year, right now have spended most of my "extra" funds (for empty dvd- and bluray cases) so now I dont have any point to go even check what is on sale during BlackFriday or whatever .... 🤪.!The plan is to get finish organising my horded collection ....
Another American import we didn’t need. When it comes to Blu Rays the prices are usually only a couple of pounds cheaper, so totally pointless. There are sales all year round. Vinegar Syndrome and Severin always have the best Black Friday sales as they always have new releases along with decent reductions on older titles.
@@marymungleandmidge4080 I’ve been lingering around the criterion 50% off at Barnes & Noble. I’ll likely have a look through severin and vinegar syndrome but I’m not sure there’s anything I’d jump at from them.
I think our Black Friday doesn’t offer many big reductions, compared to US it’s just a excuse for online retailers to clear out old stock.

Already seeing the label Black Friday being used by several retailers. It’s almost like they’re claiming the whole of November for this sale now.

very good tv advice - Tesco's suddenly have 60/70" tv for sale for less than £200.00. But these tvs are not very good!
