I try to detach my personal demand for a release from the cost of it. If I didn't have much interest at full price I won't buy it at half off. Whether a film costs £3 or £30, it'll still take around 2 hours to watch (more with special features). What kind of value someone puts on their time will vary from person to person. It can be useful to add that time cost onto the monetary cost of a product and it might help with some wiser decisions. Great video Phill and good food for thought.

A long came vhs so you could view them at home then dvd then thay tried lazer disc then things started going online streaming.
I used to be in my local video store watching at least 2 to 3 films per night the good old days .
then most of the stores shut there doors or big companies went bust along the way.

now its like theres a sale on in every store knocking our the same things.
its like thay want to re bottle the Good times of the past?
but the genie now out of the bottle so thay have to re package or reimage the films.
from the past because thay seem to have lost the art of telling us all a good story.
so they split the movie or flog it in many parts or in different forms just to get a few extra quid out of us older guys .

@PhillwithadoubleL I remember going to see lord of the rings and getting excited even if it was over three films. as I read the book as a big all three volumes in one . And enjoyed it as for the hobbit it was a fun book to read and the film should have been one film really yet it did nothing for me at all splitting it over three films was a bad idea .
If we look at even the starwars movies from seeing them as a lad in 1977 then hearing that thay where going to do three new ones on how lukes i am your father became darth vader. I was excited to go and see them all as for the last three I saw a few trailers and tought this look polished and the music sounds kinda cool but who the hecks this girl ? And wheres my heroes of the past movies gone .I never saw any of the new films in the cinema because it wasn't my starwars anymore I did see it on Disney as someone had it playing on there TV and I have tried to watch some of the TV shows all that mythology all them books that lucas allowed to be written about our heroes and even giving Disney the plots for how to continue the skywalker storyline thay just tossed it out of the window and served the fans a compleat turkey with out the real trimmings that why the movies have really died the paying fans are now classed as trouble makers yet none of these actors or studios would be where thay are with out our love for the movies in the first place oh well its there loss in the long run just don't pay to watch anything thay decided to put out unless it sticks to the true storyline

Double dipping when certain titles are on sale is sometimes worse than if you pre-order every single item because you automatically think now you can buy like a world champion because it's cheaper.
Because how often do I let myself be seduced by reduced prices and in the end I have bought more films than I actually wanted and that's the dilemma if you're a collector, so it doesn't have to be exclusively steelbooks or other special editions for you to lose control.
