I saw people posted on twitter that Abu never DM before. I almost couldn't believed it. He made it looks effortless: the presence, the voices, the way he take charge at the table. He already has most of the qualities to be a great DM, I guess what left is the the wills to do it.
The idea of Matt getting a 200 dollar charge on the phone to talk to Abu when CR straight up has an official discord server for Beacon members where they could call (not to mention Zoom like Travis said) is hilarious to me, way more than it should be tbh
Anonymity is the key my friend. Zoom calls, discord calls, they leave IDs, Tags that can be traced to emails and online profiles. The same can be said of phone calls sure, but if you don't pair a number to a profile, then it can still be fairly secretive (especially if you don't enable caller id)
I feel like the only dices rolled were in battle before the Arch heart communed with the group. They were so enthralled that they go with Abu's flow without question.

From Ashton's 'counterspell' on Snowdinus it was clear that Matt had a plan for destroying the temple, but instead of it being an out for the Hells against a 2.5 boss fight it turns out it was setting up a surprising return nobody saw coming. Though despite the 3.5 hour first half the Hells did surprisingly well against the Sorrowlord and Gloamglut before the temple collapse, in spite of Fearne's tendency to attempt self-sacrifice to save the others, it's probably a good thing Laudna kept Disintegrate under wraps until after Delilah was sealed away... I'm not quite sure why we saved Zathuda, like we took a leg so why not the whole thing? Fearne only needs the dragon from him. I suppose maybe there's something with the Unseelie to deal with? They're not on Ludinus' side but they'd still follow him to fight allies at the keep, maybe we need to turn the court against him too? Or maybe it's just prodding for info? Unclear but since he's still alive and Gloamglut still isn't Fearne's it's not exactly the big W we were hoping for. And a lot of that feeling of personal dissatisfaction is the fault of the second part too. Loved Abubakar's performance, he was great in the DM chair and this is not at all a criticism on him, but this offer feels wrong - and it feels wrong that the Hells are even considering it beyond the statement of 'let Ludinus win'. For the Arch Heart this is a supremely heartless proposal, not to mention selfish and cowardly, hidden behind a mask of flirting and charm; betray your allies, risk sacrificing a friend (the conversation also should've ended here, since neither Imogen or Fearne want to be vessels and have been vocal about that), be as bad as Ludinus and Zathuda all so two gods can try and scare the others into leaving, only encouraging that it _may_ work, that the gods _may_ run and not stand and fight or even try to kill the vessel, and that the singular mortal vessel already mentally bound to Predathos _may_ be able to contain the voracious and relentless god-eating entity that's starving (the starving don't skip on crumbs) and is leaking out of a moon held by divine and primordial seals. There's nothing they provide that reassures that this is a viable path to take, one that would mock the very sacrifices FCG and countless others made to fight against this very plan, and its fallout has too many maybes as well; if Predathos doesn't get unleashed the gods can still negotiate a new dynamic with mortals - as they should - they can still aid in countermeasures, but turning tail and running? That's the easy option, and the easy option won't fix anything. This is also considering that this is indeed the Arch Heart; we know of a betrayer who wants nothing more than for the Primes to abandon mortals and simply be together again, even if that was just an eternity of running away together, we know of a betrayer who would enjoy teasing Braius after he donned the Platinum Dragon's armour and tests his faith, we know of a betrayer who was interested in the primordial titans when seeking to enact the first calamity, we know a betrayer who lies and tricks mortals into making things worse when they profit (even the Selena star seemed to be in pain), and is not above dressing up as another god to do it...a lot of things seem fishy about it, even Ashton for all their excitement about a god asking them for help must sense how it's too awfully convenient for the very god they asked the Bright Queen about not 24 hours ago to suddenly appear and tell them what they wanna hear right? When has the universe ever aligned for them so cleanly? Evoroa said Ludinus will win if they remain divided and yet more discourse appears right when a plan has been agreed like a golden apple thrown into Olympus. Ask yourselves, *when in all of Exandria's history has a god ever changed their mind?* We'll have to see what path the Hells take, but this offer does not sit right with me personally; they would never force Fearne or Imogen to be a vessel and potentially lose them on a god's say-so, they've fought this hard against Ludinus and Zathuda to prevent such a plan and the fallout it'd enact, the plan STILL relies too much on theory and hunches, the same arguments used against Ludinus still don't get answered, whether the gods are dead or alive if they're not present the problem still remains, so why would it be a worthy risk now? We may need an assist (or a few) to help steer them away from this, Matron take the wheel! The Stormlord is gonna be so mad when he sees that another god gave the lightning girl he had dibs on a relic...

Abu is incredible, both as a storyteller and just embodying his character.

9:58 The look on Laura's face. "This is the man raising my son."
She was in between emotions of whether to laugh or cry
Matt was like "i got charged way too much International..but it was worth it", we know Matt, we know
Man,thank you so much for putting parts of the cool down. I never get to see those.
Thank you for the extra Beacon bit. I love your cuts between players and DMs. For me, the closer angle allows more of a focus on them in that moment.
“Oh ok”
“Here we go”
😂
