Great that Roland are still making new videos for the DS. It's a powerful machine. The MFX system confuses me, some clarity about that in a video would be nice.
Very cool, but what I am actually hearing is the Vocoder Robot sound that is being affected by the microphone along with the Bass Mini which is not affected by the microphone or are they really both affected?
That's what Fernanda always said to me on our first date: "Don't press that button!" (She was talking about the "answer"-button on my phone when one of my buddies rang, of course!)
As one of the guys below asked, what mic are you using for this vid? This is important since that is where the sound is originating. I know it can't be a condenser or any xlr, so it is apparently dynamic. But again, what mic (brand, model)? This seems to rarely be covered in these vids and I'm sure many viewers would like to know. Great vid. Thx!
I know that this is just the Roland product support YT channel. But maybe someone from the developer department gets to see my comment. Next generation Roland entry level synths need to have an XLR-input for the mic (just like on the VP-03) and finally an internal power supply. Willing to pay the "99 cents" more. Willing to carry the heavier weight around.
Thank you very much Ed, hey 2 questions, which mic do you use for the Juno? And how do you make the vocoder more expressive within this performance scenario?
I have a doubt about saving the effects (effects edit) on pattern sequence mode cause I edit and configure the MFX (1,2,3,4) and when I write the pattern sequence it doesn´t save those effects that I made :( Can you help me please?
@@TheSunlight74 I noticed that we can use/edit the MFX (1,2,3) setting up to PERFOMANCE mode and all FX that we set in the MFXs session its working now and I can save them too. I think if we set the MFX to the Parts (1-16) instead Performance, it will gets the FX of the patch. But I stiil confuse about the logic of which the instruments channels/pads that will use each MFXs
Note that Im talking about the PERFORMANCE mode on the Effects Edit Screen and not PERFORMANCE of the patch, ok?! There you can choose if you want to set the MFX to PERFORMANCE or PARTS
Can someone explain how he can see both parts @3:03 ? I still only see part 1 or part 2, but they aren't layered like that. What I'm really trying to do is use the vocoder in a pattern sequence but I figured this is how you get started.
This did not work for me right away. I had to go into Performance Edit -> Output, then Dial the settings. To save myself time, pause the video at 7:31 to see his Output settings.

I feel the same, I still don't know well how to use the mfx section
Ed, i cant thank u enough. You're the best brother!
This information is priceless. Thank You millions.
The vocal effects didn't seem to come through. Sounded just like the keys alone.

Straight up baller.

Pretty cool! I Wonder if Stevie ever tried that out!?...
After writing this performance (hack), can the keyboard also be split with the “hack” at the bottom and brass at the top?
can you just use a normal xlr cable and plug it from mic to junods?
Ed is my fav!
Ed I own a ds88 how can I do pitch bend to go up full octave with modulation wheel
How do you make the voice stand out more. I'm not hearing enough of your voice
You could go into the performance edit menu and change the volume levels on the different parts to your liking.

I would like to know the answer to this too...the effects all seem to disappear when you save a pattern sequence.

You are very good at this. I'm very good also for a long time but I'm a bit up in age. Please teach a bit slower😇
