i know right? xD i remember the first time i watched this video my grandma was like "are you sure he is old enough to be watching this?" to my mom and i was like "i'm 14, grandma! chill out!" haha. good times.
That's actually a pretty good comparison. Man, I'm getting old. Both have the biggest tre flips I've ever seen and know how to throw down one banger after another.
I remember borrowing this VHS when off an old mate back when I first started skating and I just couldn't believe the stuff I was seeing. Still to this day it's incredible.
Chris Cole was my favorite then and now, I mean back then nobody skated like this, he raised the bar, and will always be a legend in my eyes, plus I love this song and how it’s put together
False! Cole was a philly staple for years before Zero. This is his fashion transition from hip hop philly kid to wannabe rocker. Hes always ripped, check old 411 VMs, CKY, pretty much any video with philly footage.
I came up in BMX (street) as Cole was coming up. We're from different towns in the suburbs and we'd see each other at parks and downtown Philly often. That double kink 50-50 towards the end is a rail that I did the first ever gap to Smith grind on a that rail. It's actually a church and I had my sacraments there and my daughter was baptized there. Cole had a nick name, Cole-Tang and when he got on Zero, he had to get a new wardrobe. 😆 Anyway, we knew each other and I was so inspired by Jaime Thomas. His part in Toy Machine W.t.H was the inspiration for my first video part. Doing bangers with long hair in some clips and a buzz cut on others. We were all so psyched that Cole got on Zero and that video premiere was at a theater maybe a half mile away from my house. I've met big time pro BMXers but they were just other riders to me. Seeing Jamie Thomas was almost like a religious experience. Me, Wiz who lived there and Edwin Delarossa and Vic Ayala (pro street BMXers) came down from north jersey to see it. Bam had to be snuck in through a back door for some reason.
@@larrylove1 I warmed up by trying to Ollie a 9 stair in my local elementary school, landed primo instead hit my head so hard I blacked out for a second a friend witnessed and he was scared, this was 10 in the morning. All the friends gathered up, went to Hollywood and ollied the Hollywood 12 with only one friend knowing what happened to me earlier and he just gave me more props. 10am to 10pm 3 dollar day pass blue line station all over LA LB Hollywood and more
Wow... I'm speechless. I can't believe this video is 4 MINUTES?! EXACTLY 4 MINUTES! I had show my mom! She couldn't believe it either! You've done it Thrasher... you've really done it.
@subcomandante marcos Reynolds was never really known for his rails, he was known for his huge gaps and flips to match. Cole is more technical and probably better, but Reynolds has a style nobody could mistake for, huge smooth clears.
@Thor God of Thunder They are both great, Chris is just way more technical. Reynolds´s approach to skating is different, so this is kinda pointless thing to argue about.
bought this when I was 12 from val surf, watched this part so many times I still know what tricks are coming smh.... lmao s/o to the old zero videos this and misled youth are imprinted in my brain.
Chris Cole remember when you walked into Panera bread at the north county fair mall . I greeted you and your kids and I also gave you guys free drinks . I asked you for an autograph you said yes but never gave it to me. You literally didn't care . Lowkey you made me feel unappreciated. But what ever. You're a bad ass skater.
Appleyard wishes. Great skater but no where near the talent of Cole. Even Sorry and Extremely Sorry are softer parts compared to this and with everything Chris has done since, there's no comparison.
besides the whole fuckin part, the kickflip at 2:36 is what separates pros from ams ! just look at that kickflip!! mayb its just that angle you can really see the pop and catch but its just amazing hahaha
I remember going into this video thinking the big takeaway would be Jamie Thomas, since that was the case in nearly every full video he had been in before. But as incredible as Jamie's part turned out, I def think Chris Cole officially took that Zero spotlight from him
Crazy how an ender from back in the day is a go-to trick for a pro now! I'm talking about that kickflip b/s noseblunt, still looks good today though nyjas got that on lock Progression has been insane! (Just got back in this year after over a decade away)
Never forget about how this dude is an abusive POS to his wife and kids and how the industry continues to sweep bs like domestic violence under the rug.
when you see one of your favorite parts growing up and its now considered a classic...you're old
naw man, you're not old.... You're CLASSIC!😎
yeah but lets be real, this part was an instant classic when it came out
i know right? xD i remember the first time i watched this video my grandma was like "are you sure he is old enough to be watching this?" to my mom and i was like "i'm 14, grandma! chill out!" haha. good times.
true
Classic is normally supposed to be 25 years or older so don’t feel old if your watching this!
dude even alot of skaters today can't fade this. 🔥
Facts
I remember seeing this for the first time. Probably similar to how kids feel when they watch Chris Joslin now. Just utter disbelief!
That's actually a pretty good comparison. Man, I'm getting old. Both have the biggest tre flips I've ever seen and know how to throw down one banger after another.
yeppp best 360 flips, backside kickflip, switch frontside flip
and the backside 360 too
Truth.
Man that comparison is spot on.
He was always on another level than the other pros. Dude set the bar HIGH, first video ever , VHS , wore the tape out
appropriate as cole just joined zero again, welcome back Chris!
Long time coming 🙏🏻
One of the best Chris Cole. I miss these days Jamie
Just imagine this part was out today 20 year later and it would still look pretty dope! Mad respect to Chris!
I remember borrowing this VHS when off an old mate back when I first started skating and I just couldn't believe the stuff I was seeing. Still to this day it's incredible.
i still have my VHS, not sure if it works don't have a player anymore. Do you remember the beeps and blackness in between each part
if this came out today would still be pretty sick, Cole was a beast back then..and still is.
Chris Cole murders boards, that kickflip in the beginning when the board not just break but explodes was epic to me as a young skater
Chris Cole was my favorite then and now, I mean back then nobody skated like this, he raised the bar, and will always be a legend in my eyes, plus I love this song and how it’s put together
All time favorite video part right here. The front lip, front 5-0, kickflip the little set is such a perfect line
Fun fact:
Chris Cole pushed mongo when he started out. Jamie Thomas told him he had to learn how to push regular before he could be on Zero.
Hate At Chee I feel like everyone knows this but it’s cool that your telling people that.
@@subswithnovideoschalleng-ex9dj i didnt know that
Not just the mongo, he told him to stop talking and skate.... like if you want to be a skater stop being weird 😂
False! Cole was a philly staple for years before Zero. This is his fashion transition from hip hop philly kid to wannabe rocker. Hes always ripped, check old 411 VMs, CKY, pretty much any video with philly footage.
I think it was only switch mongo
2:36 he’s getting air even after he kick flips. This dude was on another level.
That happens a lot bro, it happens when you bring the flip straight to your feet, and if you’re good you can bone it out
I haven't seen this in hella long...the song goes with his skating so good...Chris Cole is the Truth.

Can't believe this is 18 years ago!
I was 21-22 when this came out and now I'm almost 40! Time flies, don't waste a single minute of it!
100%
I did yard work today and now my back hurts lol. How the hell did I used to shred for like 10+ hours a day?
@@gg-dv9vd yes sir i know wht ur saying slamming our self down steps and over gaps hop up like it was nothing lol
@@larrylove1 I warmed up by trying to Ollie a 9 stair in my local elementary school, landed primo instead hit my head so hard I blacked out for a second a friend witnessed and he was scared, this was 10 in the morning. Remember me and my good friend watching it on *VHS!* 🥵
kickflip noseblunt for the win
Wow Chris Cole can do anything he wants on a skateboard
This entire video is a classic. Has to be one of my favorite videos of all time
even the tricks that are outdated by today's standard still look so damn good by this guy
Nonstop bangers!!
+Panza BMX kek
NinjaLifestyle
Take note, this is what a REAL professional skateboarder looks like.
Nothing like you or your "Revive" circle jerk crew.
Long John Tortellini exactly, plus he complains about everything and everyone in his videos
Long John Tortellini This comment made my day
ninja you got gooood taste
I got dying to live for my first skate video ever on christmas as a kid. it's amazing how incredible he still skates over a decade later
Classic song, Classic part.
FUCK YES
I love this video! The Styx rock!
Wow... I'm speechless. I can't believe this video is 4 MINUTES?! EXACTLY 4 MINUTES! I had show my mom! She couldn't believe it either!
You've done it Thrasher... you've really done it.
This guy right here is the reason I got into skating!
For every set that reynolds frontside flipped, cole does it switch
Anonymous GamingX11 and so does Reynolds 😅
@subcomandante marcos Reynolds was never really known for his rails, he was known for his huge gaps and flips to match. Cole is more technical and probably better, but Reynolds has a style nobody could mistake for, huge smooth clears.
@subcomandante marcos Cole is not obviously better than Reynolds, Reynolds style is head and shoulders above cole.
@Thor God of Thunder They are both great, Chris is just way more technical. Reynolds´s approach to skating is different, so this is kinda pointless thing to argue about.
How times flies.I was so hyped to see his part when this video came out. Still one of the best i think.
Some TIGHT editing, God damn. Every clip starts JUST before the pop.
big shoes, bigger skating
Oliver Prentiss better skating imo
thats trru
just watch the nine club w/ him & Jamie thomas. Man these parts bring back good memories
DAMN never get tired of watching this so underrated chris cole the MAN !!!
So pure
bought this when I was 12 from val surf, watched this part so many times I still know what tricks are coming smh.... lmao s/o to the old zero videos this and misled youth are imprinted in my brain.
i just knew as a kid to ride for zero meant you have to be tough and ruggid. they gave zero fucks when falling
Cole was, and still is, ahead of his time.
Golden days of skateboarding. I miss those days.
God that tre flip at the end was just wonderful
Styx - Renegade.
I remember buying this vid from the skate shop when i was young, it's so rad that Chris is still killing it.
First skateboarding VHS I ever had and now this is a classic. Jesus I feel old...
Back here after his return to Zero 🤘🏼
god, i used to watch this all the time after school then go out and skate
Dude 3 or 4,months!! Chris cole is fucking sick🔥🔥🔥such a humble guy too!! Thank you for this!
this got me so pumped back in the day
His posture as he lands. amazing
Am I old for remembering all the songs from vids in the 90's where when I hear the song I remember the part and video?
Man this makes me feel old!
Its crazy how he has been so good for so long!
I remember skating with him back in the day few times. At this park called section 8 and in Sharon p.a he always went for what ever was around to sk8
Goddamn Cole skates like a fuckin video game
My friend and I used to watch Dying to Live or Misled Youth before EVERY sesh we'd go on.
2:23 best line to ever grace skateboarding.
I had to come watch this part after watching his Nine Club interview. Holy fuck. This part is timeless. And fucking insane. What a mind fuck.
This is still one of my favorite parts.
hey HENRY SANCHEZ...
think there's a spot open for'ya!
Chris Cole the authentic Battle Commander, SICK!!!
You're a bad ass skater.
a lot of people don't know this but chris cole is mark appleyards alter ego.
as you said, I didn't know. you must be right
but chris cole does non nollie tricks sometimes.
chris cole is a great imposter.
Appleyard wishes. Great skater but no where near the talent of Cole. Even Sorry and Extremely Sorry are softer parts compared to this and with everything Chris has done since, there's no comparison.
Its kinda funny cause ive thought that since this movie came out, they both squat for tricks the same way
Lol 2023 and your favorite skater of all times like yeh this my dude. But yeh this old to
That kickflip back nose blunt was too gnarly!!
Chris Cole is the only person that is capable of making Styx cool.
Major Payne underrated comment
John Allie's part was my favorite I think from Dying to Live. The song they used for his part was amazing.
in awe every time
besides the whole fuckin part, the kickflip at 2:36 is what separates pros from ams ! just look at that kickflip!! mayb its just that angle you can really see the pop and catch but its just amazing hahaha
Not Chris Cole? Cole Chris? Lol🤙🏽Hell yes!! 😎🤘🏽🔥🔥💨💨Skate”👑🛹”Cobra in the flesh!!!
Cole was the best member of this team. He brought tech to big af.
Dying to live was one of the first videos I watched when I first started skating. I loved it so bad. Even the credits were fucking amazing
This part still holds up today
This is was a classic in 2013? Damn, I remember this part when I was in my teenage years... Feeling really old now... :(
Classic. Any cole footy is golden
OH MY BUDDHA THAT WAS BLIMMIN BEAUTIFUL
Great song awsome skater 😎🤘
I've always felt as though Chris Cole dressed like a Cop that was trying to go undercover as a generic youth of the 2000's.
Lmao
Bro STOP IT!!!
Wtf what explains it perfectly!!! All these years I was like there's something weird about this dude 😎 😂😂
such a sick part!
“The start of the wrath of Chris Cole” bro you don’t even know 😭😭🤯
I remember going into this video thinking the big takeaway would be Jamie Thomas, since that was the case in nearly every full video he had been in before. But as incredible as Jamie's part turned out, I def think Chris Cole officially took that Zero spotlight from him
The entire zero black box set is nothing short of amazing
Chris Cole is a god.
Check out Chris Cole on 411 issue 40. that was the first time i ever seen him. allot of love park footage.
Dunno if that is the vid called 'Time Bomb' but the first I've seen of Cole was that one.
One of the greatest of the newer generation of skaters
11 years later you don't see many parts that can top this...
Where's 2:53 spot?
If ijamie gives you the classics,,,,,,,
I remember buying this and new blood at a skate shop way back in the 2000s. Simpler times
Crazy how an ender from back in the day is a go-to trick for a pro now!
I'm talking about that kickflip b/s noseblunt, still looks good today though nyjas got that on lock
Progression has been insane! (Just got back in this year after over a decade away)
The sound of that 360 flip down Rincon is fucking beautiful.
The best song choice
The fact he filmed this that fast is fucking bonkers.
fav skate since ever
So good!!!
20 year old part still f**ks everyone up. And dude can still do every trick on command
ahh yes... the good ol' "Big Four" at Rincon Middle School... some good stuff there
watched dying to live at least 40 times :)))))) Ryan Smith part also very sick!
Never forget about how this dude is an abusive POS to his wife and kids and how the industry continues to sweep bs like domestic violence under the rug.
I called him a wife beater in his comment section on instagram and he blocked me what a loser.
jamie is right this was a great offering
love that kickflip at 2:36
i use to watch these when i was young had the flip sorry video too all on vhs
Rolling with the tight trucks
Had to pause Season 4 of "Ozark" to rewatch this because of the song.
