Their song "Dig" literally makes me cry. My boyfriend was an alcoholic and succumbed to organ failure in 2019. He would send me songs often that he felt embodied his thoughts and feelings and how he felt about me.
First and most important: I'm very sorry for your loss. Second and far less consequential: It's my favorite as well. I've never understood why it wasn't a "bigger" song.
I let fear and anxiety run my entire life, so bad that I never got my driver's license. The metaphorical point of driving and life control was so strong; it moved me to get my license that year, at 40 years olds, and I've been driving and controlling my life ever since. Thanks Incubus! 👍
@@randycooper3428 Try to concentrate on the freedom you'll feel not having to depend on anyone to get you where you want to go. That thought helped sideline the fear for me. That's how I did it! 😉 Good Luck!
Incubus is a special band. The whole morning view album needs a listen. For individual songs, I recommend strongly Nice To Know You, Dig, Pardon Me (one of my top faves), Stellar, Warning (another top fave!), Wish You Were Here was a huge hit but overplayed so it lost its sparkle for me. Are You In? is also fun. I could honestly keep going, this bands lyricism is special and even better for me now in my 30s.
FINALLY...You guys got to Incubus. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this band. Great in concert too. I was turned on to them by this song. Then I heard more of their songs. HOOKED. Brandon is one of my favorite vocalist. This is my go to karaoke song.
I’m a huge 80s music fan who also loves 90s music. This song is one of my favorites from the 90s. 👍 This was from 1999, but it sounds like it’s smack dab in the middle of the 90s.
This song, to me, speaks to not allowing fear of the unknown hold you back (hello anxiety). Instead, embrace that you can only control what you can and life to the fullest.
Brandon Boyd has always gotten a lot of respect from me. This man is an incredible Artist. As a person who does Art in my free time, I admire this masterpiece of a video. Thank you for this.
One of my Favorite bands! My favorites from them were Nice To Know You, Wish You Were Here, Warning, & Are You In. These are all from their Morning View album
I literally just recommended this song to someone else today when they were reacting to Drive by The Cars. Two of my favorite songs with the same title.
Imma 70s child and love when y'all reach into that period. But that being said, this band is one of few who vibe that period. It's all their own for sure but Incubus is a great "sequel" (if you will) to the 70s. Thanks for playing🙌🏾 Love y'all🫶🏾
In the nineties, it was a big deal to always have a designated driver if you were going out to parties or going to clubs so there would be no drunk drivers. The thing is, no one wanted to be the designated driver. People didn’t want to miss out. I’ve always loved this song though, because they’re saying you’re missing out if don’t choose water over wine and drive.
Jay... the turntables that are making the swishing sound, as you say. That is called scratching. People used to scratch alot back in the 80's hip hop and rap.
You two are my fave reactors. This song holds a special place in my heart and watching you react to this was a reminder I needed. I am a breast cancer survivor diagnosed in 2/2019 and had a “cornerman” (as he called himself during my battle. Anyway he passed away unexpectedly 3/2020 and I swear music save me from the grief of the loss of him. This song in particular, after listening to it over and over, brought me so much peace and realization I’m the driver going forward. It’s so easy to get caught up in just coasting through life again and I needed the reminder I’m still the driver. Thank you both for sharing yourselves with us ❤
Just saw them in Missoula recently.....they are still as fire as they were when they came out as young lads. One of the best shows ive ever attended. And yes the DJ plays live as a part of their dedicated band lol ;)
Looooooooove Incubus!! Their music is 🔥!! Wish you were here, Dig, Warning, Love Hurts, Pardon Me, Knice to know you...SO MANY MORE. You can't go wrong with any of them!
Even tho Im a 60s baby and I have an ardent love of 70s music, I def appreciate and love music from every genre and every decade. Music is my medicine. Thanx so much, take care, Peace
Incubus is so amazing. I saw them in concert last year and Brandon still sounds the same. It had been 20 yrs since my last show. I swear you guys have already reacted to them. Either way, you can't go wrong with Incubus! Make Yourself is an amazing album start to finish. They have a great discography.
Don't think they reacted to Dishwalla and "Counting Blue Cars" or Toad The Wet Sprocket and "All I Want" yet. Two great 90's songs. Guess I'd add "Bittersweet" by Big Head Todd & The Monsters in that also. Amber would love "Barely Breathing" by Ducan Sheik another 90's cool vibe. All cool vibes in each song. Jay for another 90's banger "Nearly Lost You" by Screaming Trees. Interesting names for bands in the 90's as well.
I absolutely love this song. One of my favorites during that time. New music: 1. "The Blues" by Tony!Toni!Tone'! (said as Tony-Tony-Tony) 2. "Just Got Paid" by Johnny Kemp 3. "Close To You" by Maxi Priest (official video extended version with kids in video picture) 4. "Casanova" by LeVert
If you guys don't know them, you should check out The Fray. Awesome group that formed in mid-2000's. First song should be "Over My Head (Cable Car)" from 2005. You both will love this group. Also Kings of Leon is another great group. Start with "Use Somebody"( 2008) and then go back to earlier music.
I've mentioned it before, but you really need to check out a Scottish band called Travis -- late 90's/early 2000's was their heyday. Fran Healey's vocals are incredible and their songwriting is next level. Why Does It Always Rain On Me?, Driftwood, Writing to Reach You, Turn, Sing, Coming Around, Flowers in the Window, just to name a few.
I've been requesting this song for 3 years now. I've been with you guys since the start, please check out Sabaton - Christmas truce. It's the greatest Christmas song that you've never heard. It highlights a truce in WW1 on Christmas between British French and German soldiers on the front lines and trenches where they came together, drank and even played a game of soccer before returning to war the following day. Very powerful song about finding humanity in the least humane of places. Features Floor Jansen from nightwish in the closing credits.
Ah. I've been with them almost as long. Then maybe there is hope for a Sarah Vaughan or Toni Braxton reaction. I keep requesting but zero for these two. 😢
Feel like I've asked for this one a gazillion times, but you GOT TO reaction to DON BLACKMAN! "Heart's Desire", or "Never Miss A Thing", or "Holding You, Loving You", or "Yabba Dabba Doo". Yo, where are all the rest of the true music heads out there? BACK ME UP, YA'LL! Convince the Rob Squad that they absolutely gotta get to this dude! Smash that 'like' button, so they can give the people what they want. lol :D
My favorite song of all time. It's the story of my life 100%. I was once homeless broke with no direction in life. Things were very bleak. Since I began my trucking career 5 years ago, I have a nice home, car, plenty of clothes, eat well, and have money in the bank. My favorite line is " if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive, will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive?" It hits home on two levels. First I have always been a loner and somebody who has an independent mind. I have never ever been one to go along with what the herd or society in general is doing. Hell I don't even go along with what my own family does. I'm the black sheep of my family. There is a lot of alcoholism that runs in my family, and was very bad for my father after my mother divorced him. He destroyed himself with alcohol and never fully recovered from it. As a result, I decided to abstain from using alcohol. So yes I chose water over wine and continue to hold my own and drive, my life and the truck. 👍🏼
90s were SUCH a vibe. 1st half, 90-95, my fave period of music after the early 70s. I don't know them well actually but know that song. That is a GREAT lyric Jay.
(Wish You Were Here) Is my all-time favorite Incubus song. You guys will like it for sure!!! The turntable, drums, guitar and lyrics are really good!!!!
You won’t regret going down the Incubus rabbit hole!!! A really great bunch of musicians!!!! Saw them twice in SoCal with my daughter - me in my 50’s , she in her 20’s. The crowd knew every word to every song and the band delivered magic!!! ☮️❤️
Great song and great band you definitely have to listen to another song by Incubus it's called Dig. I'm not sure which I like better they're probably my two favorite songs by them
I love this group! Incubus is such an underrated group and I feel like they’ve mostly been forgotten. They are always in my playlist. They released their first album “Fungus Amongus” when they were just 16. There whole catalog is awesome. You guys should really dive in to it! So many different vibes.
I actually saw Incubus live exactly once, on Moby's Area One Tour in Atlanta, and they played right before hometown heroes Outkast! "Drive" is a beautiful song, and if you're looking for another really romantic (but still rocking) song by Incubus, try "Wish You Were here" which is every bit as beautiful.
The 90s I was 18 in 1990 and in 1999 I was 27 years old and I can say from a 70s born baby I was blessed to listen to all types of music. Thank you guys for bringing back so many great memories.
The "choosing water over wine" line hits so hard for me, knowing that's how a lot of people get by in life, and how they "seem" fine. But how its a big step to take the wheel and drive without being controlled by a substance of any sort is so magically true.
"Pardon Me" &"Wish you were here" are bangers by Incubus
Megalomaniac is one of my favs.
Wish you were here has amazing lyrics. Painting pictures with them.
Pardon Me is one of my all time favorite 90s songs.
All of the above!
Love Hurts. Another exceptional song
The Incubus rabbit hole runs VERY deep. More, please.
They are in for a huge treat with this band
I 2nd, 3rd, and 4th this request!!!
I agree!!! And its going to be a fun ride ....
Love Hurts, please
Jumping on this bandwagon
Their song "Dig" literally makes me cry. My boyfriend was an alcoholic and succumbed to organ failure in 2019.
He would send me songs often that he felt embodied his thoughts and feelings and how he felt about me.
My favorite song of theirs.
Shivers. Yeah. Dig really gets to the heart of anyone who listens...it's a beautiful song.
My absolute favorite song of theirs. That song is so deep
First and most important: I'm very sorry for your loss.
Second and far less consequential: It's my favorite as well. I've never understood why it wasn't a "bigger" song.
Warning moves me the same way. Can't go wrong with Incubus in my opinion.
"Nice to Know You", "Wish You Were Here", "Pardon Me", "11am", "Warning"....i can go on and on with Incubus. Love them.
Redefine or anything from the late 90’s albums! This is so overplayed!! Lol
Another 90s band to try is Filter. “Take a picture “ or “Hey man nice shot”
I let fear and anxiety run my entire life, so bad that I never got my driver's license. The metaphorical point of driving and life control was so strong; it moved me to get my license that year, at 40 years olds, and I've been driving and controlling my life ever since. Thanks Incubus! 👍
That's a cool story, man. Congrats!
44 and still working on it so I know how difficult it can be. Congrats.
That is a great story. Definitely congratulations to you!! Isn’t it just amazing how fast time really goes by?

Shew....I completely understand. I haven't been outside in 5 years. It isn't easy. I'm working on it but it's a hard road.
As an old guy at 60, I actually like and enjoy this song.
I'm 65 and I still kept up with music until 2010 then it went downhill or I got old.
Of course…That’s because you like music!
At 52, same
I'm 60 ..You're not an old guy! We just love the music!

Incubus is such an underrated band! The message in this song is so good! It was released in 1999-2000 originally and after 9/11 had a huge resurgence!
FACTS! Agreed how underrated they are.
The lead singers sounds the same live! Excellent voice.
“Pardon Me” by Incubus will be one of J’s top 20 songs on the channel after he hears it. I’m calling my shot now.
Good Call
Agreed.
Agree!
Boy. This was a HUGE hit when it came out. Kind of the new school of music of its time. Great tune.
I’m a huge 80s music fan who also loves 90s music. This song is one of my favorites from the 90s. 👍 This was from 1999, but it sounds like it’s smack dab in the middle of the 90s.
Same, totally! 80's for life, but mad respect for 90's 🤘
I always thought it was a very transitional tune bringing in the 00's...

Incubus is such a talented band, under rated. Live shows are the best.

Nice To Know You,
Wish You Were Here, Warning,
