So if im looking to get a planar iem with the most detail retrieval and soundstage possible for $100 or less, would you say I should opt for the NiceHCK F1 Pro rather than the T10 Pro?
To me the S08 isnt dark unless I do sound test comparisons to a brighter set. You can try eq to add some treble. Ive done it a couple of times while watching movies and it can be a nice touch if your bored or not feeling the factory tuning of the treble.
Both have essentially the same problem or problems, too much subbass and/or not enough treble, The balance is tilted to bass and there is some air there but you need to cut the bass to hear it. Or add some treble but then you are heading back towards S12.
@@SpacedOutDoonie The problem there, is that s08 has more subdued treble compared to most other sets, and it's definitely the most subdued planar. When practically all sets will be brighter than it, so it's hard not to bias your judgment
@@miscwork-qb7pd Its not a problem to me cuz its not dark to my ears. I rather have a tuning like this cuz with eq I can easily adjust it if I want it brighter/details to be more noticeable but I cant really do the same thing/effect with brighter sets if I want to lower the treble it then sounds weird or off, it sounds worse compared to raising the treble.
I got the S08 and the T10, the S08 is way more comfortable. The T10 Pro looks like the same shape as the OG just different material, might be heavier than the T10. The T10 is light compared to the S08, the S08 is built really good. Like Paul said the S08 is a shallow fit IEM. I use the large standard Divinus Velvet tips for it, its very comfortable, even for long listening sessions and the cable doesnt irritate the ears at all either.
@@PaulWasabii Lol maybe the T10 pro might be different, but for me the S08 is a damn near perfect fit. The T10 doesnt fit correctly in my left ear, I had to opt for the XL Liqueur tips just so I have a good seal.
Interesting. Mine are coming this week. I liked S08 sound but not fit and wanted something more comfortable. This should be it. I have yet to see if I like it as-is or apply a suggested mod. Thank you.
I pulled off the mesh and there is no foam or its deeper where I couldn't see it. There is an odd tube though which I thought was pressure relief but it might be to lessen the dampening deeper in. I didn't really get what was going on.
I have yet to purchase a planar iem. Not sure if i would like the sound. If i get one that sounds like Saga bass or Castor bass in my budget range . (under $50) i'm in.
I don't think any planar does that much bass. I've heard s08, it does well on bass and for me it's dark in the treble so you can turn it up, but then it only has more slam because it's at higher volume
Out of the box, not going to sound like that on S08 or T10 Pro for the reason I said, KZ rarely tilts the treble down. Even on Saga bass, they kept the level that is close to balance and extended.
If I wanted to hear what is different between a Planar IEM and a non-Planar IEM, what song would you recommend & what should I listen for? I have a KZ PR1 Pro, and I would have no idea if it was a planar or not if the box didn't say so. I'd probably notice if I knew what to listen for....maybe. :)
There isn't really a song but I tend to listen to rap. That is why I say vocal articulation too much with planars. Sometimes treble but it needs to be tuned well. Like most things, it is always easier on the songs you know well rather than other people's tracks.
Hey Paul... I'm guessing Divinus Velvet wide bore or TRI Clarion tips would be another solution to the sound issue you raised... I'm sure they would clean up the sub bass and boost the high frequency a bit... Thanks for another comprehensive and detailed review.☮️
Really interested in your comment. I've been loving the KZ Saga. I bought an Allegro Mini and a 4.4 Tripowen cable and hooked up to my iPad mini, I'm enjoying it. But I'm definitely interested in the PRX. Why do you prefer it? I'm genuinely curious🙂
@ ito my ears it’s smoother or technical it doesn’t have quite the bass the saga has but it’s a quick punchy bass. I do eq all of my IEM and the PRX responds better to eq than my saga bass and the balanced one. Now I’m no audiophile I’m just a drummer that loves my rhythm section to stand out in my music
I actually tried a couple of times. The set doesn't like my coupler. Its not a significant change and my EQ was about 2db, It doesn't take much of a change to be noticeable with a lower treble level.
Still happy with my PRX. My first and only planar iem.
Man those look great, I might grab it
Still loving my S15, a musical set without fatigue.
Right, I almost moved S15, it is in the middle too. Going to be a while before Letshuoer beats that one unless they find a way to make it cheaper.
I like the s08 but the og t10 is my favorite planar I’ve listened to. Absolute price to performance king
Yep, I generally like planars but T10 was one I didn't hear.
Hey Paul, great review. Tnanks a bunch. Will you review 7Hz Timeless Ii too? Would love to know what your thoughts are.
Great review, from what you've said I think you'd have liked the original T10 more.
Yep, that is probably true. The problem with the original and a bunch of other sets, they compete with S12 Pro which isn't that much more money.
So if im looking to get a planar iem with the most detail retrieval and soundstage possible for $100 or less, would you say I should opt for the NiceHCK F1 Pro rather than the T10 Pro?
Yeah, T10 Pro is more about that smooth DD like sound. Or wait for a sale on S12 Pro
@PaulWasabii Would you say the S12 Pro is better than the F1 Pro in this regard? Or are they about the same?
Do you find this has more upper treble and air than s08? For me, s08 also sounded slightly too dark
To me the S08 isnt dark unless I do sound test comparisons to a brighter set. You can try eq to add some treble. Ive done it a couple of times while watching movies and it can be a nice touch if your bored or not feeling the factory tuning of the treble.

Are you going to review new KZ Sonata? I'm curious, because they're really expensive by KZ standards
About the same price as the S08, the T10 pro might have replaced it on my wish list.

As soon as I said T10 Pro was a better fit, a few people will say S08 is better

If you like the S08, you will probably like it as-is. But try some tape on the vent if you are bored.
Thanks for the thorough review, Paul. It appears to be quite dampened, similar to the S08. Would it be possible to graph this without the foam?

@@PaulWasabii They might've dampened it using the grill directly attached to the driver. Thank you for taking the time to check what's inside.

Same here, looking for my first planar to try. Under $50 with a tuning I think I'll like and it's worth it to take a chance.

Yep, the thing is to be aware of what you are hearing so I start with EQ. The treble is fine, just need to make it easier to hear.
I have the saga bass and the KZ PRX and I find myself reaching for the PRX more often than the Saga

@ I also ordered my PRX off Temu for 21 bucks
@ I have been using a presonus revelator io24 audio interface but I’m interested in the allegro mini
I would probably say the same if I didn't have other planars too so I like Saga bass for a change. PRX is a crazy set if you are a planar fan
Thank you! It would be nice if you could graph your modded t10 pro.

Artti is a sub brand of Letshuoer i believe....
Yep
