one thing i love about brazilian cinema, as a brazilian, is that ”stage kisses” is not really a thing here, in theaters/films/tv shows, 99,9% of the time the actors kiss just like they’d do in real life, with tongue and everything. and it’s funny that whenever a foreigner sees a brazilian movie/series for the first time the thing that ALWAYS surprises them the most is in fact the kisses HAHAHAHA some ppl think it’s gross and let me tell you i was HORRIFIED to find out that kissing with tongue is not an universal thing 😭😭

I didn't read the fanfic but I saw Priscila giving instructions to the actor to record the scene. Christoper fires Clarisse without thinking twice because he's a power freak and at that moment, besides the night before with Maya who obviously has some influence over him, it's basically as if Maya was saying "You're a fool, you're a weakling, you have an employee that misses work because a night out" we also see that she knows how to play with him very well when she says "I thought you selected your employees better" In other words she is saying that he has no control, no power, and this is what impacts him the most and makes him fire Clarisse without second thougths. Maya knew how to mess with his ego.

Yes, Christopher is everything you said and much more. In episode 5 he leaves no doubt about the type of man he is. You should see the Ponto Off behind the cameras and they reacting to the episodes too, it's really nice and funny. 
She was jeaulous and crazy about the fact that Giovanna chose Clarisse over her, this was a strong reason to sleep with him but also she slept with him to get Clarisse fired and when they arrive at the company (the company that Maya admits she hates going) Clarisse is late and Maya sees the perfect oportunity. According to the diretor Priscila he hates being put in this demanding position (skiping work because of a night out) and she knows he wants to prove he's always in charge, so she chooses to push that button and it worked.

TH-cam about to get us all in trouble with these type of scenes. The chemistry was fire alarm hot. They should get the double the views because we know everybody watch those MULTIPLE times! I really loved seeing Giovanna basically saying man I hate that you're so hot. you're driving me insane! I loved it because it's so real to how she feels. She's being completely swept up in whatever this is. Ok on to Maya. I think this continues on to what I was saying with the last episode. It's clear to me at least that they're trying to portray her character as this arrogant woman. She gets someone fired, she says that she does whatever she wants and her response to Giovanna calling selfish and heartless is duh everyone knows that! She's completely unbothered, and at the same time, she's the most charming woman you'll ever meet. That's a deadly combination. It's one of those smile in your face rip the breaks out your car things. When I see her interact with Christopher's employees it comes off as calculated and a little fake. It feels like she has everyone wrapped around her finger. She plays the game with everyone. BUT I agree with you that something is different in how she's treating Giovanna. For someone who wants control at all time (control of game) she gave it up this episode as you pointed out. Why ask Giovanna if she likes someone else and risk her saying "yea I like this other woman?" Maya put herself in a vulnerable position and that was different. I think we're an episode or two away from seeing both of them move beyond lust to something more. My guess is that Maya has played the game master for years. I wonder what it would look like for her not to be in character 24/7. I'm really looking forward to catching her in more of her vulnerability. It may be as unfamiliar to us as it is to her. Oooh another good question, who's more out of touch and distant from their vulnerabilities, Maya or Giovanna? I have my thoughts, but it's a good thought exercise.

With Maya, even though things like jealousy may be so foreign to her that Christopher had to point it out, she seemed to realise her emotions that same episode and then process them in the following scenes. I'm yet to see her run away from an emotion or be in denial about something she wants. She realised she liked Giovanna more than she thought, okay, she wants Giovanna and wants Giovanna to want her too, then set out to achieve that. Maya is aware of how big of a vulnerability Giovanna is ( after all, the woman has her out here asking for kisses😂😂) but she is able to lean into it and embrace it anyway. Gio for me is a whole other story. She prides herself on being out of touch with her vulnerabilities. We can see this in the very first episode when she talks about how she's not one to fall in love. From the moment she met Maya, Giovanna was captivated, moved, but she can't recognise that there may be something beyond sex here because filtering everything through sex is part of the defense mechanism she uses to wall herself off from her vulnerabilities. Between Gio and Maya, Maya is aware of herself, her vulnerabilities, her emotions and actively chooses how she wants to respond, but Gio is still in a purely reactive state, not even aware of how emotionally compromised she is by Maya. We get hints, in i think, episode 4, where Maya didn't ask Giovanna to come over and Giovanna was disappointed. The girl is gone, she just doesn't know it yet🤣🤣🤣
@AMRReactions ok since you decided to play, I'll play too. I agree with you but here's how I came to the same conclusion. Maya on the surface feels like the easy choice, but I think that's because that's what the writers want us to think. I truly think it's purposeful that they are portraying her as somewhat arrogant, fearless, and even cold. They want us to believe these things. Yet when you look at her character, I'd say she's not as detached from her emotions as she seems. What do we know about Maya? She owns a gallery, and she's married to a power man who also owns his own company. She appears assertive and somewhat calculated at times. So what does all of that say? She likes control. I called her a game master. She has control in the workplace, she has some control over her husband, and she appears to be someone who has control over her sexual partners. Someone with that much control in all these aspects of life might be afraid of being out of control. I think she might thrive off controlled environments because being out of control is scary. In other works, her game master behaviors make me think she is aware/ in touch with her anxieties and fears. It's just that she's just controlling her environment so she doesn't have to feel those feelings too often. On the other hand, what do we know about Giovanna? Like you stated, they let us know very early on that she prefers causal, she doesn't want the love, just sex. At the same time, she throws herself in work, further distancing herself from forming deeper connections. The irony is not lost on me that the thing that's supposed to be aiding her in her quest to stay unattached (her job) actually led her to someone she feels an attachment with 🤷🏾♀️. All of Giovanna's actions are to avoid emotions. While Maya is also trying to avoid emotions, it's not ALL emotions. Her frame isn't as narrow. She wants to feel. She's just trying to control her environment so that the emotions she does feel are somewhat predictable. There's a lot more risk in what Maya is doing. She could try to control and still end up hurt, but she's doing it anyway because although she feels anxiety, it's not so overwhelming that it's caused her to shut out all emotions. She's open to the possibility of the good emotions. Whereas Giovanna doesn't seem willing to touch these emotions at all (yet!). Somewhere along the way, she probably decided that it's not worth it to go there. It's easier to be unattached. Let's take a moment to go back to the scene where Giovanna is trying to speak with Maya about the kiss. Can you see Maya try to take control to protect herself? Can you see Giovanna taking a rare risk, just for a moment, letting some feelings in and then recognizing that it's not safe and shutting that part off? Alright I'm done. I've written an entire book report now. Thanks for playing 😁.
😂😂😂😂this is a fun game. I largely agree with you. I think the writers want us to think a particular way about Maya and Maya does thrive off of control. Where my thinking differs is that, I think control is a necessity for Maya, not so much a desire out of anxiety or fear. I feel like, to have the life she wants, and not get swallowed up within Christopher’s life or his company, control is necessary. So she’s gotten used to wielding that control. However, I think what Maya craves is a situation, or person, in which she can just be, without needing to be in control. I think G is a good match for her, in that her strength, passion and personality all combine to make her a person to whom Maya can cede control and not have to worry. In every interaction G and Maya have from ep 3 onwards, Maya seems to willingly give power and control to Giovanna. I like the irony you pointed out, of her work leading her to attachment. I agree that Maya was trying to screen some emotions but not all, until she realised how much she wanted Giovanna in ep 3. Maya does take control to protect herself in the sense of setting the game rules. And then when she realises that playing the game might lose her Giovanna, it forces her to get a bit more real and honest about what she wants and Gio does show us a flash of vulnerability and then tucks it away when she realises its not safe. 🤝🤝🤝 It was a pleasure engaging in this thought exercise with you😁
@AMRReactions I guess I should clarify that I don't think Maya or anyone else desires to be anxious or fearful. I think it's an unconscious process. Out of those anxieties and fears come certain actions that the person feels like is a necessity for their survival. An extreme example of this is OCD. A person may feel like they have to check the stove EXACTLY five times before they leave the house or something bad is going to happen. Their anxiety have resulted in actions that they feel are necessary for survival. It's not desired. So I think we're of similar mind in our thoughts about Maya. She's totally in control because she feels like she has to be, but deep down she would love not be in control all the time. In order for that to happen, she has to feel safe, and something about Giovanna feels safe. The pleasure was all mine!

When I see her interact with Christopher's employees it comes off as calculated and a little fake. It feels like she has everyone wrapped around her finger. She plays the game with everyone. BUT I agree with you that something is different in how she's treating Giovanna. For someone who wants control at all time (control of game) she gave it up this episode as you pointed out. Why ask Giovanna if she likes someone else and risk her saying "yea I like this other woman?" Maya put herself in a vulnerable position and that was different. I think we're an episode or two away from seeing both of them move beyond lust to something more. My guess is that Maya has played the game master for years. I wonder what it would look like for her not to be in character 24/7. I'm really looking forward to catching her in more of her vulnerability. It may be as unfamiliar to us as it is to her. Oooh another good question, who's more out of touch and distant from their vulnerabilities, Maya or Giovanna? I have my thoughts, but it's a good thought exercise.

😂😂😂I love thought exercises. I think Giovanna might be more out of touch with her vulnerabilities. With Maya, even though things like jealousy may be so foreign to her that Christopher had to point it out, she seemed to realise her emotions that same episode and then process them in the following scenes. I'm yet to see her run away from an emotion or be in denial about something she wants. She realised she liked Giovanna more than she thought, okay, she wants Giovanna and wants Giovanna to want her too, then set out to achieve that. Maya is aware of how big of a vulnerability Giovanna is ( after all, the woman has her out here asking for kisses😂😂) but she is able to lean into it and embrace it anyway.
Gio for me is a whole other story. She prides herself on being out of touch with her vulnerabilities. We can see this in the very first episode when she talks about how she's not one to fall in love. From the moment she met Maya, Giovanna was captivated, moved, but she can't recognise that there may be something beyond sex here because filtering everything through sex is part of the defense mechanism she uses to wall herself off from her vulnerabilities.
Between Gio and Maya, Maya is aware of herself, her vulnerabilities, her emotions and actively chooses how she wants to respond, but Gio is still in a purely reactive state, not even aware of how emotionally compromised she is by Maya. We get hints, in i think, episode 4, where Maya didn't ask Giovanna to come over and Giovanna was disappointed. The girl is gone, she just doesn't know it yet🤣🤣🤣
@AMRReactions ok since you decided to play, I'll play too. I agree with you but here's how I came to the same conclusion. Maya on the surface feels like the easy choice, but I think that's because that's what the writers want us to think. I truly think it's purposeful that they are portraying her as somewhat arrogant, fearless, and even cold. They want us to believe these things. Yet when you look at her character, I'd say she's not as detached from her emotions as she seems. What do we know about Maya? She owns a gallery, and she's married to a power man who also owns his own company. She appears assertive and somewhat calculated at times. So what does all of that say? She likes control. I called her a game master. She has control in the workplace, she has some control over her husband, and she appears to be someone who has control over her sexual partners. Someone with that much control in all these aspects of life might be afraid of being out of control. I think she might thrive off controlled environments because being out of control is scary. In other works, her game master behaviors make me think she is aware/ in touch with her anxieties and fears. It's just that she's just controlling her environment so she doesn't have to feel those feelings too often.
On the other hand, what do we know about Giovanna? Like you stated, they let us know very early on that she prefers causal, she doesn't want the love, just sex. At the same time, she throws herself in work, further distancing herself from forming deeper connections. The irony is not lost on me that the thing that's supposed to be aiding her in her quest to stay unattached (her job) actually led her to someone she feels an attachment with 🤷🏾♀️. All of Giovanna's actions are to avoid emotions. While Maya is also trying to avoid emotions, it's not ALL emotions. Her frame isn't as narrow. She wants to feel. She's just trying to control her environment so that the emotions she does feel are somewhat predictable. There's a lot more risk in what Maya is doing. She could try to control and still end up hurt, but she's doing it anyway because although she feels anxiety, it's not so overwhelming that it's caused her to shut out all emotions. She's open to the possibility of the good emotions. Whereas Giovanna doesn't seem willing to touch these emotions at all (yet!). Somewhere along the way, she probably decided that it's not worth it to go there. It's easier to be unattached.
Let's take a moment to go back to the scene where Giovanna is trying to speak with Maya about the kiss. Can you see Maya try to take control to protect herself? Can you see Giovanna taking a rare risk, just for a moment, letting some feelings in and then recognizing that it's not safe and shutting that part off? Alright I'm done. I've written an entire book report now. Thanks for playing 😁.

I largely agree with you. I think the writers want us to think a particular way about Maya and Maya does thrive off of control. Where my thinking differs is that, I think control is a necessity for Maya, not so much a desire out of anxiety or fear. I feel like, to have the life she wants, and not get swallowed up within Christopher’s life or his company, control is necessary. So she’s gotten used to wielding that control. However, I think what Maya craves is a situation, or person, in which she can just be, without needing to be in control. I think G is a good match for her, in that her strength, passion and personality all combine to make her a person to whom Maya can cede control and not have to worry. In every interaction G and Maya have from ep 3 onwards, Maya seems to willingly give power and control to Giovanna.
I like the irony you pointed out, of her work leading her to attachment. I agree that Maya was trying to screen some emotions but not all, until she realised how much she wanted Giovanna in ep 3.
Maya does take control to protect herself in the sense of setting the game rules. And then when she realises that playing the game might lose her Giovanna, it forces her to get a bit more real and honest about what she wants and Gio does show us a flash of vulnerability and then tucks it away when she realises its not safe.

@AMRReactions I guess I should clarify that I don't think Maya or anyone else desires to be anxious or fearful. I think it's an unconscious process. Out of those anxieties and fears come certain actions that the person feels like is a necessity for their survival. An extreme example of this is OCD. A person may feel like they have to check the stove EXACTLY five times before they leave the house or something bad is going to happen. Their anxiety have resulted in actions that they feel are necessary for survival. It's not desired. So I think we're of similar mind in our thoughts about Maya. She's totally in control because she feels like she has to be, but deep down she would love not be in control all the time. In order for that to happen, she has to feel safe, and something about Giovanna feels safe.
