Ok ok. So first I'm happy to see you so happy lmao. Maya wearing that outfit (you know the one) with that dark makeup & matching dark hair ... I'd be breaking glasses and stumbling over my words too! Lol.
Moving on, I have a couple of thoughts. I think how they've depicted Maya's character is consistent with her being arrogant. And I'm basing this off of what we've seen so far I'm sure that they're going to give her character more depth. But right now i have to say i can see where the arrogant and conceited comment comes from. To kiss someone in the same elevator with your husband takes a certain level of arrogance. To threaten your housekeeper takes a little bit of arrogance too! I think the threat was don't tell my husband about anything you've seen here today and that kiss was a power play. Threatening you and then kissing you on the cheek. Arrogance and Power are close friends.
In terms of the scene where Maya acts like the kiss with Giovanna meant nothing. I don't think any of that was Gi being irritated. I perceived that as her traveling through being confused, taken aback and then hurt. Like you said you could see the vulnerability on Gi's face and to have someone dismiss you or your feelings, that hurts. You could just see Giovanna taking that in and putting her walls back up. Last thought, Natalie was working it in this episode. When she said I don't wanna talk I want to do something else, I was like OK I see you!
Taking a step back tho I can't help but think about how much pressure it would be to have to make out with my boss lol. They say cut and what do you do? Do you look at her and ask if the kiss was good? Lol

Hmm would you say she was arrogant or extremely confident/fearless? For me, I usually use the word arrogant for someone who is really proud and looks down on others or who evidently considers themselves superior to others. I would call Christopher arrogant just based on his first interaction with Giovanna and refusing to shake her hand but I'm not sure it applies to Maya. Even the conceited part, not so much. Manipulative, calculating mischievous? Sure, sure, sure😂😂😂.
So for me I wondered if it was a threat but I think that was more of a statement of fact "if you keep quiet, nothing will go wrong" I think that's more speaking about her plans. It's like well you don't have to be worried, just keep quiet and problem solved! I think the power of Maya in this scene is that she doesn't have to actually threaten her housekeeper, the danger of crossing her is implied. What she said to Clarisse was definitely a threat though 😂😂😂. I think the kiss served a dual purpose. It was a power play but it was also a genuine show of affection which is part of Maya's power and control. Affection in one hand, danger in the other is a heady mix. I think it pulls people in and is part of what makes them want to please her. She makes you feel like you can earn kisses instead of bullets so to speak 😂😂😂. I think part of what makes her such a complicated character is that the affection must be somewhat real otherwise it has no power. So I think it's Manipulation -Affection- Power that she's weilding, that gives her such control. And so far that affection won't necessarily stop her from hurting you if she has to. Maybe Giovanna will be the difference, maybe she won't.
That's cool😄. The nice thing about shows like this is being able to watch and different people having different interpretations. I personally think there was some irritation there with the clenching of Giovanna's jaw and that grows into the coldness we see her showing Maya later.
Natalie's acting is always on point and yeeeees, I can't even imagine having to kiss my boss. I wouldn't be able to look her in the eyes again, whether the kiss was good or bad😂😂😂 (maybe even less if it was good🤣🤣🤣)
@AMRReactions touché. I would say there's a fine line between oozing confidence and arrogance. I think the fact that we can debate this issue proves that she's probably floating in the middle. Enough confidence for us to find it sexy but not so much that it's a turn off.

I think lowkey G is pissed that Maya is married. I think that night they had shifted something for both of them. Granted they both knew it was a one night thing but I think because of that inhibitions might’ve been way down. In all this back and forth what I noticed is that when that tension snaps and they actually touch all they really seem to want is to make each other feel good. The desire is so equally matched and so mutual. It’s interesting. I think Maya wants to be taken without being possessed (not sure she’s aware of that yet though). Seems like G does it for her real bad lmao. It’s almost like Maya has a crush on G. She for sure is playing a game but she’s not acting. As a viewer that kiss looked like lovers reuniting after being apart far longer than either had the right to be. That one night stand shook both of them to their core. Freedom, it’s so interesting. Maya tells G in episode 4 that she can do whatever she wants and everyone already knows she’s heartless and a b*tch. Theoretically, this should mean Maya is free right? But idk, she’s never seemed freer than being her complete self with G. The scene that reflects this for me is the bar scene in episode 1, Maya in her leathers, smoking, owning herself, contrasted against her scenes with Christopher in the white dress and the tan dress, being possessed and very much within the limits of a certain role that seems nothing at all like who she is. Freedom of being, that allows her to be true to herself and true to her wants might be the thing Maya is craving the most and is most in need of.

I think we all unequivocally came to the same conclusion that Maya has the more dominant energy… that trailer confirmed it in ways I was not prepared to witness.
Giovanna run you in danger girl! G’s lack of self preservation so far this season scares me. The trailer made me realize that they may just be cut from the same cloth. Both having had to be self possessed and put together and these well crafted personas. A lot of it is artifice. I think it’s easy to be energetically drawn to someone that has the same taste for rebellion and freedom that you do. They both seem to feel such a sense of relief when they play or when one or both decides to give in. Their vulnerability is so pure. I don’t think it’s possible to fake their desire or the visceral reaction they have to each other. But although, the vulnerability and the desire is honest, I wonder if it’s real. Realistically can it exist outside of the bubble they’ve created for themselves. They seem to legitimately forget the world exists around them. Consequences be damned. It’s so clear that they are falling in love but is it embodied love. Could their love ever really exist fully. Right now based on that trailer I’m voting no.
