Idk if its gonna be in the show later on (so idk if this is a spoiler) but basically there is this whole dirty talk situation where Maya reminds Giovanna of the first time they met in the bar ( where Maya was standing in front of a pool table and Giovanna was checking her out and watching her kiss that other girl) Maya tells Giovanna something like „I know you wanted to do me right there on that pool table when you first saw me“ so she takes her there to fulfill a fantasy and remind her of that first time they slept with eachother. Another detail that was missing was the fact that Maya never gave Giovanna her room keys so she wouldn’t be able to lock her room. I feel like those kinda details are important to understand the whole situation better

I don't want to give too many spoilers but just after I finished reading the Xeque Mate fanfic I could understand Maya's reasons for acting like this. Clearly she did not get married for love and Christopher is the bad guy in this story (that's why her friend hates him). And falling in love with Giovanna was not part of the plan but she cannot help it. I love to see how she surrenders to real love.... lol.

Lmaoo not you bussing the candy open and breaking the mic almost. This episode was way more spicy than they said it would be. I love how passionate and thrilling their intimate scenes are. As far as the room goes. I think she picks that room out of respect for Christopher. It’s not out in the open or in the bed that share together. It’s like yes she might step out of the relationship but she still cares about his feelings and respects the boundaries that they have.

It's not about the actors, it's about the directors they're the ones who choose how they want to show us the story. While both actors felt everything, we could feel completely different than them because of how the edit and the story are shown to us.

I don't think they're in love yet, just that we're starting to see feelings develop as we move along the episodes. In terms of the love scene, I believe they can still communicate passion, and desire, and yearning very effectively without the characters being in love. What I wanted was a more effective communication of those emotions through their body language, touch, etc. Not just for us to see them having hot sex, but for that sex to communicate more what that character is thinking and feeling in the moment.

I agree with your criticism. Stupid Wife took my soul, despite kissing crooks of elbows and stuff lol, because the intimacy was wild, and we could see it on their faces, in their eyes, in the sync of their movement. SW remains to be like nothing I've ever seen on screen. It makes me curious about 2 things: 1) What did Reis and Buiar's scene study/homework look like? I think they must have boldly discussed their love scenes because all of them felt true to their characters, had off the charts intimacy, and maintained continuity over 3 seasons. Their scenes kind of felt like we, the audience, shouldn't be there. 2) I wonder how much creative contribution/control came from each on screen "couple." I haven't watched BTS for XM, but we know how in touch Buiareis were with their characters and the changes they made to the script for the sake of authenticity. I don't feel like I really know these characters yet, and maybe that's another part of the disconnect. I feel like Maya doesn't want me to know her yet, so that feels intentional on Natalia's part, but I don't feel super connected to them as people, to their emotions, motivations, etc.
There is a big difference between SW and Checkmate. SW is a series that is essentially about loving someone very much and overcoming obstacles to stay with the person you love. XM is not about romance, overcoming obstacles, a married life, it is about power, money, greed, sexual attraction, betrayal, friendship, loyalty. Although it is certain that the story will evolve into Giovanna and Maya falling in love with each other, there is a world of difference between one proposal and another. If there is a second season you will see love, affection and delicacy between the characters but even so it would be unfair comparing the stories when the proposals are different and then everything becomes a matter of personal taste. Obviously if I love reading romance I won't find it in a horror story as they are different genres.

Personally, when I compare SW to Xeque mate, I'm not comparing the romance aspect, because the two shows are definitely different genres. What I'm comparing is the eroticism and effectiveness of the love scenes. With XM being the show more dedicated to sexual attraction, desire, power etc. I would have expected XM to be the show that gave me the most erotic vibes but that's not currently the case for me. I watched a two minute youtube clip today of these two women, Stella & Dagbjort, and their scene was filled with eroticism without them even having to take their clothes off. I think there's something about the way the XM scenes are being filmed that's causing the disconnect for me. There seems to be more of a focus on their body's rather than their facial features, building tension even within the scene, capturing our imagination etc. For me, the issue isn't that XM isn't romantic enough; it is that for what it is supposed to be, there are sooo many opportunities for eroticism and sensuality that aren't being taken. Everything is kind of given to us on the surface. Kind of a wham, bam, thank you ma'am kind of feel😂😂

Yeah maybe😄. It's not so much that I need them to be in love or intimate per se but I want to feel like they're communicating things to us and between themselves in the love scene. I didn't really get that communication/ storytelling with the love scene
I adore and love this series very much. I also love the actors and their acting but In terms of story, intimacy, emotional and creativity for me "Stupid wife" is still number one. Unfortunately this love scene in this episode hasn't woowed me because as you said it cuts too much and the choice of the room has ruined it for me. It feels forced, uncomfortable and just didn't convey the intimacy and emotional side that needed to be felt by both of them.
I think maybe the reason it doesn't convey the intimacy and emotional side (like in the stupid wife scene), is simply because the characters are not there yet. I think at this point, maybe the sex between Maya and Giovanna, is just that, sex. It's about lust, physical desire, extreme physical desire. Maybe at this point, they've still not "fallen in love" yet. Maybe in this scene they're starting to fall in love, but it's just the start. Does that make sense? Like they're not "deeply in love" yet. I think in episode 8 when we get the next sex scene, they might be "more in love" and recognize it, and so, they might show more intimacy and emotions then.

I also love this series and I'm having so much fun getting to know the actors and actresses and watching them perform😄. I would have even more fun with just a bit more detail included in the series. For me, the production is resting on the natural chemistry Natalia and Sofia have (which is a LOOOT, to be fair😂😂😂) but the love scenes could be improved with just a bit more thought and coordination, so that each scene reflects what is going on with the characters at the time. For eg. Ep 5 is supposed to be the culmination of all the teasing and temptation of the past 4 episodes. Every interrupted moment is supposed to come to a head here. It is meant to have the feel of a dam breaking. So why start the scene slowly? Why not convey that passion Giovanna started with throughout? Or show us the point where the shift comes, and it moves from pure lust to something shaded with depth? Why the choice of the pool room to start in with no explanation? Why not have them kiss their way to the pool room or have Giovanna carry Maya there and they just kind of forget themselves on the pool table and can't bring themselves to move? I need the scenes to not just be sexy, I need them to be authentic reflections of the relationship between the characters at the time. If Maya is having feelings and gio isn't having feelings yet, let me see that in the way they touch. I don't need them to force love and intimacy if the characters haven't reached there yet but I do need the production to communicate better through these scenes with the audience. The way they make love shouldn't look the same in episodes 1, 5 and 8, because they are supposed to be at completely different points in their relationship.

But interestingly, I do fully see what you're saying, unlike some other love scenes, although this was hot, i didnt't get from it what it meant for the characters or their relations or a story as u said. Like there is not hint as to what this means in regards to how or whether their relationship would change in any way after this. But it would be that it doesn't but that also seems unlikely bc of how big of a deal they both made it. I didn't and wouldn't expect the level of connection, intimacy, and emotion that was in STupid wife bc that was a completely different dynamic, connection ,and level and intimacy, but it could've been more cohesive and told mroe a story.

On the other hand Nathalie Smith walked them through those scenes, and from Bts, I get the impression that Pri Pugliese when talking to characters dives more into how their feeling, the significance, what their trying to convey and even what they thinking/feeling but not showing. I don't think they're in love yet, just that we're starting to see feelings develop as we move along the episodes. In terms of the love scene, I believe they can still communicate passion, and desire, and yearning very effectively without the characters being in love. What I wanted was a more effective communication of those emotions through their body language, touch, etc. Not just for us to see them having hot sex, but for that sex to communicate more what that character is thinking and feeling in the moment.

I agree with your criticism. Stupid Wife took my soul, despite kissing crooks of elbows and stuff lol, because the intimacy was wild, and we could see it on their faces, in their eyes, in the sync of their movement. SW remains to be like nothing I've ever seen on screen. It makes me curious about 2 things: 1) What did Reis and Buiar's scene study/homework look like? I think they must have boldly discussed their love scenes because all of them felt true to their characters, had off the charts intimacy, and maintained continuity over 3 seasons. Their scenes kind of felt like we, the audience, shouldn't be there. 2) I wonder how much creative contribution/control came from each on screen "couple." I haven't watched BTS for XM, but we know how in touch Buiareis were with their characters and the changes they made to the script for the sake of authenticity. I don't feel like I really know these characters yet, and maybe that's another part of the disconnect. I feel like Maya doesn't want me to know her yet, so that feels intentional on Natalia's part, but I don't feel super connected to them as people, to their emotions, motivations, etc.
There is a big difference between SW and Checkmate. SW is a series that is essentially about loving someone very much and overcoming obstacles to stay with the person you love. XM is not about romance, overcoming obstacles, a married life, it is about power, money, greed, sexual attraction, betrayal, friendship, loyalty. Although it is certain that the story will evolve into Giovanna and Maya falling in love with each other, there is a world of difference between one proposal and another. If there is a second season you will see love, affection and delicacy between the characters but even so it would be unfair comparing the stories when the proposals are different and then everything becomes a matter of personal taste. Obviously if I love reading romance I won't find it in a horror story as they are different genres.
@annitalopes243 I feel a bit differently after a couple more episodes, but in episode 5, my biggest "issue" was that I didn't feel very connected to the characters and their motivations (in general but relative to SW as well). But I hear you. Different genre, different premise, different feel.

Personally, when I compare SW to Xeque mate, I'm not comparing the romance aspect, because the two shows are definitely different genres. What I'm comparing is the eroticism and effectiveness of the love scenes. With XM being the show more dedicated to sexual attraction, desire, power etc. I would have expected XM to be the show that gave me the most erotic vibes but that's not currently the case for me. I watched a two minute youtube clip today of these two women, Stella & Dagbjort, and their scene was filled with eroticism without them even having to take their clothes off. I think there's something about the way the XM scenes are being filmed that's causing the disconnect for me. There seems to be more of a focus on their body's rather than their facial features, building tension even within the scene, capturing our imagination etc. For me, the issue isn't that XM isn't romantic enough; it is that for what it is supposed to be, there are sooo many opportunities for eroticism and sensuality that aren't being taken. Everything is kind of given to us on the surface. Kind of a wham, bam, thank you ma'am kind of feel😂😂

Well maybe the intimacy and flow of the sex scene in stupid wife was more connected because they were married and they shot it in that way . They were already in love but I agree with you.
No, people are forgetting that only valentina was the one who was in love. When they did their first love scene Luiza was not in love because she hasn't remembered anything yet and she even said it herself after they did the love scene that she is not in love yet.

I adore and love this series very much. I also love the actors and their acting but In terms of story, intimacy, emotional and creativity for me "Stupid wife" is still number one. Unfortunately this love scene in this episode hasn't woowed me because as you said it cuts too much and the choice of the room has ruined it for me. It feels forced, uncomfortable and just didn't convey the intimacy and emotional side that needed to be felt by both of them.
I think maybe the reason it doesn't convey the intimacy and emotional side (like in the stupid wife scene), is simply because the characters are not there yet. I think at this point, maybe the sex between Maya and Giovanna, is just that, sex. It's about lust, physical desire, extreme physical desire. Maybe at this point, they've still not "fallen in love" yet. Maybe in this scene they're starting to fall in love, but it's just the start. Does that make sense? Like they're not "deeply in love" yet. I think in episode 8 when we get the next sex scene, they might be "more in love" and recognize it, and so, they might show more intimacy and emotions then.
@@norkar5540 I agree that might be the reason but I still don't like the chosen room tho. Is just not good. But we will see their next love scene if it improves because we need them to show emotion now.
I also love this series and I'm having so much fun getting to know the actors and actresses and watching them perform😄. I would have even more fun with just a bit more detail included in the series. For me, the production is resting on the natural chemistry Natalia and Sofia have (which is a LOOOT, to be fair😂😂😂) but the love scenes could be improved with just a bit more thought and coordination, so that each scene reflects what is going on with the characters at the time. For eg. Ep 5 is supposed to be the culmination of all the teasing and temptation of the past 4 episodes. Every interrupted moment is supposed to come to a head here. It is meant to have the feel of a dam breaking. So why start the scene slowly? Why not convey that passion Giovanna started with throughout? Or show us the point where the shift comes, and it moves from pure lust to something shaded with depth? Why the choice of the pool room to start in with no explanation? Why not have them kiss their way to the pool room or have Giovanna carry Maya there and they just kind of forget themselves on the pool table and can't bring themselves to move? I need the scenes to not just be sexy, I need them to be authentic reflections of the relationship between the characters at the time. If Maya is having feelings and gio isn't having feelings yet, let me see that in the way they touch. I don't need them to force love and intimacy if the characters haven't reached there yet but I do need the production to communicate better through these scenes with the audience. The way they make love shouldn't look the same in episodes 1, 5 and 8, because they are supposed to be at completely different points in their relationship.

That was beautifully put. And I agree, I think the production could choreograph the love scenes to convey more of what each character is feeling. It is a matter of direction, not acting. Because I am 100% sure Sofia and Natalia would be able to act these transitions and emotions PERFECTLY. 😍

But interestingly, I do fully see what you're saying, unlike some other love scenes, although this was hot, i didnt't get from it what it meant for the characters or their relations or a story as u said. Like there is not hint as to what this means in regards to how or whether their relationship would change in any way after this. But it would be that it doesn't but that also seems unlikely bc of how big of a deal they both made it. I didn't and wouldn't expect the level of connection, intimacy, and emotion that was in STupid wife bc that was a completely different dynamic, connection ,and level and intimacy, but it could've been more cohesive and told mroe a story.

I feel like that kinda was to do with the actresses (no offense to Nathalia and Sofia who are broth great), but we see the work and thought that BuiaReis put into each moment with their characters and just from how Sofia and Nathalia talk about their make out /sex scenes makes it seem like they’re JSUT happy to be making out and doing the scene and in Bts and reactions, they haven’t said anything as to intentionality etc with those scenes but who knows 🤷🏾♀️. On the other hand Nathalie Smith walked them through those scenes, and from Bts, I get the impression that Pri Pugliese when talking to characters dives more into how their feeling, the significance, what their trying to convey and even what they thinking/feeling but not showing. Probably why Smith focuses more on leading the technic crew and Pri the actors. But against who knows 🤷🏾♀️
