I thought you might like a look at this very slick 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL. This car is powered by it's original, numbers matching, 390 V8 and it has been recently restored. The black paint is very slick, the black vinyl interior looks like new, and it's very nicely detailed under the hood. This car really is ready to show just as it sits. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for taking a look!

In 1969 I had a 1963 Galaxie 500XL that I painted a lime green metal flake with white speed stripes, a nearly complete chrome plated engine, a white leather top and white leather interior and shag carpeting (it was the 60's you know). I had all mag wheels and wide tires with the 390 V8. Loved this car.

      Nice buy, Murray! I had a friend w/ a 61 390. He raced a 60 348 w/ 3 2s. The 390 was 3 car lengths ahead going into 2d gear. The driver of the 348 just quit.

I'm a fan of '50's and 60's cars as well, particularly the early 60's Fords and Chevys. The design of the '64 Ford Galaxie 500 XL is almost impossible to beat, for a full sized "family" car. Our family had a 4 door solid BLACK Galaxie 500(not an XL) with a 390/300 and set off with a medium grey interior. My favorite family car that we had. The '71 Olds gold/camel interior 98 Luxury Coupe was not a great performer. However, it would run 120 mph flat out, 'cause I did it. Took it about 2-3 miles to get to 120, though. That car's best asset was it was just PRETTY. So graceful. Besides that, it drove like a dream, what with it being so HEAVY and well engineered. The last of true high compression, high weight, high horsepower Detroit iron. Those were the last of the good ol' days as far as impressive Detroit iron is concerned. @@WJKPhD

I had a white 1963 Ford Galaxie 500, when I was in the USN, back in the late 1970's. It was a wonderful car, and ran like a watch. I drove it for thousands of miles, and it never broke down. I wish that I still had it.

I'm a car lover. Lot of people are Ford Chevy or Mopar but me I love them all. But I have to say these Fords compared to the Chevy SS seem more upscale. lol probably will get some slack for saying that but just look how plain the dashboard looks in the Impala compared to this one. But still I love all cars.

Before Ford went back to the land yacht's. Right size, Right motor, Right interior. If this car was a convertible. I would be trying to buy it right now. Any time you can get Raven Black to look wet after it's painted. Perfect! Get in. Listen to it rumble. Just idling! Sitting there in it's glory! Man, Ford had it going! Thanks, For this video. I will be 60 on Sept 6 2020. My retirement draws near. If I could just drive this car. Man, What a Birthday present that would be. Shawn.

Very Impressed Jeff! I looked up the asking price and I always guess first before I see the price and I seriously guessed $40K. If this was an Impala SS or a Mopar with a HEMI in this condition it would be more then the $40K in this condition. $26k is not bad at all. I could even afford this one. Wish I had the garage and the climate to enjoy it. ;(

Was just watching the 1963 Nutty Professor with Jerry Lewis and spotted this car in the "First Date" scene. I didn't know what it was so after some sleuthing, matched it up.
This black one is INTENSE! I had a 390 in my first car as a teen, a 69 Mercury Cougar XR7 (obviously replaced the 351 Cleveland) so I know what kind of power this car rocks. That paint job though... *whistles*!
Thanks for posting this video... Now back to the movie.

Nice Galaxie , great cars with the FE big blocks. Are you anticipating the new Mustang platform reveal tonight (Dec, 5th 12:01am)...as a huge Ford and Mustang fan I'm excited , as much as I've enjoyed the S197 platform , I bought a 2006 GT new and had the complete Ford Racing suspension , exhaust and cold air intake package installed before I even drove it home. And bought a new 2008 Shelby GT500 which I've left stock. As much enjoyment as I get belonging to MCA and regional clubs and attending shows as well as showing my own , I'm very ready for the change to a bit lighter platform with the independent rear and even future 2.3L 4 under the hood , making a great drivers car much like the 1986 SVO which was my favorite of the Fox platform Mustangs. Anyway , Thanks for keeping the great videos coming , yours are the best of any I've found online :)

What beautiful car! Black/black is a nice color combo but a bitch to keep clean. I had a '68 (Pontiac) GTO that was black/black. I used to carry a moistened chamois in by back seat all the time to keep dirt from showing on the body! Keeping the black carpet clean(or LOOKING clean) was a bitch too. I just made sure my feet weren't muddy when I got in.
