    I thought you might like a look at this very nice 1963.5 Ford Galaxie 500 XL. It's powered by the original 390 V8, that still runs great. The paint is recent and looks really slick, it has the Magnum 500 chrome wheels, and the interior is well-preserved. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for taking a look!

    One of my friends' parents back in '63 had one of these in black on black. He just got his driving permit and took me for a ride. You are correct about the power of the "390". I would love to have one in the new condition I remember of that one....Thanks for the great videos.

      Black on black, I'm sure that was a great looking car. Thanks for taking a look at this one.

    What an absolutely beautiful car! I love the maroon paint also. Although not an original color, it sets the car off nicely. Original 390 is a big plus and the main draw. My uncle had one. A two door straight Galaxie 500(not an XL), beige with the 390. I remember one afternoon after he bought it me, him and my dad took it out and ran it to 120 mph. He had complained to my dad about it cutting out at around 110. It did, but ran a flat 120 with all three of us aboard.

    The 390 was
    A work of art no matter what body Ford put it in

    Never noticed before how the tail lights on the 63 model were raised enough to be able to see the round shape when looking in the rear view. Then in 64 they were still round but they were set inside an oval which had a cleaner line. Then later (65?) they raised them again but made them square

    The paint on this car is GORGEOUS. Probably not a factory color, but that's OK. It's very nicely applied and goes with the interior, which doesn't appear to have been touched i.e. "unrestored" original, which is a desirable quality. Tells you a lot about how the car has been taken care of. The 390 engine looks good and factory fresh! Overall, a great looking car. Hope it finds a good home and good owner who'll take care of this beauty.

    Mine was white w/ blue interior, same a/c, but w/ power windows. 390 4-barrel, and an economical 18 mpg on the highway. Yeah, the back seat was a great feature too.. Makes me wanna cry thinking about letting it go.

    My old car in high school. Only difference is the inside color matched the outside maroon. It was hot on the first interstate section of I-80.

    One of these was a contender for my first car, love Galaxies lots but I'm actually glad I went with a FB Rx-7 (although those back seats would have been very handy in high school)

    Hi Jeff, Thanks for Sharing this beauty. This would be a great car to tinker with and have fun with. I think the price for a big block XL is not to bad if everything is in correct working condition.

    Looks to what it known as an UNRESTORED original, save for the paint, which is very nicely applied and goes with the unrestored interior, which looks very decent. Overall a very nice car and a very reasonable price. Thanks for the post.

    I think my dad had one of these with a Thunderbird engine...remember how it smoked a cloud upon acceleration...as kids we though it was funny. I remember he sold it for $35 . It was not nearly as nice as this one and he was not good at taking care of cars.

    • @RamblinAround
      @RamblinAround  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know Ford has had them a few times, like the 1964.5 Mustang for example. It just means they started production mid year. The 64.5 Mustang is pretty much a 65 Model, but they started production in April of 64, so people started calling it a 64.5.

    If it's a high performance engine, I think it goes 330 hp with two four barrels. I think so anyway.

    • @jerryparks6123
      @jerryparks6123 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 390 Ford had several HP VERSIONS ! some were 300, 320 325 330 335 340 depending on 2 v,4v,tripower Carbs . It would be RARE to find a factory 390 with DUALL QUADS!
