Hello! Your video is incredible. I went ahead and invested in the Go Mobile System and the Brittany mic - what adapter did you get to attach the mic to the transmitter? Thanks for your help!
Yahoo! Thanks for the feedback! The Go Mic Mobile System does not need a transmitter! It comes with a few adaptor cables and I use the usb to usbc cable to plug directly in to my laptop!

Thanks you for that amazing Zoom video! You are so articulate and I know a lot of teachers are struggling with this new platform so I can’t wait to share it!!! Quick question. I also use Spotify and share my computer sound through the advanced audio settings. Unfortunately when I do this my students can not hear me while the music is playing, at all. I’m not using an external microphone, I’m guessing that’s the issue? I’m only using my internal laptop microphone. They can hear me when my musics off though. So during warm up they are just following by visual cues. Any advice? Thanks!!!! 💕
Scared Pale Thanks so much for leaving this question! I’m sure a lot of people are struggling with the same thing!! In short, if you use your computer’s built in mic, and share your computer’s audio, zoom thinks your voice is background noise (especially when you get further away from the mic) and it will cancel it out. 2 recommendations: 1) use an external mic or air pods and/ OR 2) Click “Advanced” in the bottom right corner of your Audio Settings window and then click to “Disable” both of the Suppress Background Noise options. That will help a little but won’t solve the problem completely. Keep Spotify volume a little lower and stay very close to your device mic! 👍👍
Hey Dana! Absolutely love this tutorial and am so thankful to have discovered your wonderful podcast through it! Just one concern: the JK Mic-J you linked in the description doesn't seem to be compatible with the Samson Go-Mic Mobile, as it has a 1/8"/35 mm plug, but the Go-Mic Mobile has a mini-XLR port. I even found a rare 1/8" female to mini-XLR adapter to try to make it work, but alas, it didn't. I believe that there is a similar mic by JK with the mini XLR plug, you may want to update the description with that so no one else ends up out $50 on the mic. Also, please correct me if I'm totally wrong or missing something! -Benjamin
Hi Benjamin, I am having this same problem. Can you tell me why this adaptor didn't work? I was just thinking to try the same thing but am now concerned it would be a waste.
I don’t understand how you got your music to play at the same time with this MiC? I am sharing computer audio but this Mic is using the headphone “jack” so it won’t do both at the same time. Other instructors have a different set up with a whole mixer... can you show us in detail how you use the mic and music at the same time through your computer? I can’t seem to make this mic work with music sharing as well
Yahoo line dance for seniors! It is up to your users if they want to be in speaker view or gallery view. That said, when you follow the steps to "share computer audio" As long as your users are in speaker view WITH THEIR MICROPHONES OFF, and your microphone is ON, your video will be featured as the spotlight video. Unless of course you chose to spotlight someone else. I hope that helps!

Great & helpful video. Just had a quick how are you able to connect the audio device to you computer? Do you need an adapter to be able to connect? Hope you are well. And thanks again for this informative video.
Paola, this is a great question! The microphone itself plugs into a pack that is powered by 2 AA Batteries. The RECEIVER (the device that I show at 12:08) plugs into my mac with a USB (on the receiver side) to USBC (on the computer side) cable that came with the kit! I love it!
Hi Dana! Thank you SO much for sharing this video and these amazing tips. It has been tricky trying to adapt to teaching from home, but these tips are excellent and I cannot wait to put them to use! Question about the Samson Go Mic - when you are teaching your classes, are you hooking it up directly to the laptop? I am trying to find a mic system that is compatible with a MacBook air, and I am not having much luck so far. Thanks again for all of your help!
Alyssa! Yes, the device that I show at 12:08 is the receiver. It plugs into my mac with a USB (on the receiver side) to USBC (on the computer side) cable that came with the kit! I love it!
Love your style, knowledge, all you get across so succinctly! Question: How do you deal with music copyright issues, getting music that is available for general use? Also tried to go to your Patreon page, but there was nothing there, other than a couple of links (?)
Hi Dana, I came across this video and realized I took a class with you through FLIP IT, I believe:) so funny. Question: Do you connect your lavalier mic to the computer? because it is made for mobile phones, but you teach through the computer right? What else do you use? an interface? mixer? Thanks so much!
Hi Lea! Small virtual world isn't it?! haha! The go mic mobile receiver is mobile in the TRANSPORTABLE sense, not in the cellular device sense. The Samson receiver (that I point out with a pink colored pencil in this video) comes with usb cables that connect directly to my laptop! I hope this helps clear that up!

XOXO Dana
This was so great! Thank you!
Thanks so much, zoom classes have finished for us here in Australia but I loved watching all your tips; some I discovered by trial and error, others I will adapt if ever we have to go back to zoom again🙅🏼♀️
You are so cool! Love your video❤️
I love it!
Dana Wilson Awesome thank you!
Great video & great attitude thank you!
Hello from Greece! Thank you for very helpful video for all us dance instructors entering the on line zoom land! Could I ask what wireless headset mic system you are using? I like your discrete mouthpiece but also concerned with good head - face grip cause I teach African dance (high impact, jumping and plenty of head throws) Cheers!
Great video. Question. Do you tech online? where can I find your classes? Thank you Pedro
