"Isn't that the point of music? That it reaches to us when we need it most." This is exactly how I would describe my connection to BTS' music. I personally discovered them in 2016, and I was completely not right emotionally and mentally due to some serious family events that really shattered something inside of me, probably forever. But I found their music and it helped me acknowledge my anger and sadness and funnel all of it into other passions like writing, which is what I ended up getting my college degree in. I listened to them when I was happy, when I had a crush on someone, when I was lost or confused. I've even listened to them on a deeply shitty day, crying in the car. They acknowledge their pain and it makes me feel less afraid to face mine. Their message reminds me to accept the good and the bad in me. Who am I to deny my own self? They've helped me and so many of us, in more ways than they'll ever truly know. You really hit the nail on the head with this video: this album is *stunning.*

"we can definitely make music that we know for sure everyone wants, but we don't do that"
    - suga
This was from an interview back in 2017 and Yoongi was talking about their style of music. And this perfectly encapsulates what BTS is about, their love for change, experimenting with new sounds, music is their one salvation, and they never take it for granted, music always comes first, no matter what the audience is used to, the only thing constant with BTS is change. it's been more than 7 years since BTS started to put out music, and more than 10 years for the rapline, since they started making music and performing, it is extremely difficult to maintain the level of pure grounded passion that they have towards creating music, storytelling through music and performance, most move on to other stuff or enjoy their time being just celebrities after reaching a certain level of success, but BTS, there is noone who's as successful as BTS, and of everyone,it is BTS who after so many years are 7 artists, now at peace with themselves but still hungry for making more music, more mind-blowing performances, just simply more, and that too out of pure love and passion for their art.
This album is truly beautiful, zero o clock is my favourite, the beautiful vocals and the even more beautiful songwriting by RM(as usual) for zero o clock's hits you really close to heart, the lyrics of it is like having a best friend who's crying along with you while holding your hand.( Coincidence that's also how mono makes me feel? I think not)
    P.S.
Knowing Yoongi and his ever logical mind, he's the one who probably doesn't let anyone swear on title tracks while letting lose and giving no fck on besides and mixtapes that he doesn't need to perform on tv😂

I feel you on all of this. Even when it comes to the handful of BTS songs I rarely listen to, I can never get upset- or even mildly irritated- over them because it's always an honest song. It's a song they wanted to make, a song they feared ARMY might not like but they just had to do it. How can one not, at least, respect that? Perhaps that fact skews my perception and I like some songs simply because I know BTS likes them. But, so what? They're happy, I'm happy. I'm 39 and have never had so much fun following ANY celebritiy's career. They literally use their music as a representation of how they shift and change and grow; as all humans do. This album has dominated my attention more than any previous because I've come to this catharsis point more than once in my life. It's just amazing to see a pop group express it so clearly and plainly. They gave up a lot of regular, mundane human niceties to grow up in front of us. I just want to push them as high and as far as possible so that they'll look back and feel it was worth it. Great vid.

I honestly get so emotional when I think about BTS. The love they constantly shower us with, songs for us, random conversations on weverse, never forgetting to tell us they’re thankful and they love us at award shows and in interviews. The way they use their platform to ensure no one feels alone in their struggles. They don’t put up a front, instead they show people it’s okay to feel alone, depressed, lost etc. I read somewhere that falling for BTS wasn’t falling at all, it was walking into a house and suddenly knowing you’re home. 💜

  • @2000buzz

The fear of rising too high and then completely falling off is always a fear that is predominant in kpop industry. We see a group get a hit song that is widely known and loved by literally everyone but then they struggle to get a second or third hit. It’s really sad but it can’t be helped at the same time. And I’m just really glad BTS continue to address that fear because it is legitimate. And it does happen. To their peers and non peers. Which is why I continue to say, please support your faves. Even if they’re not making headlines or selling millions every comeback, it’s always good to have a steady and supportive fandom no matter how small.

The way you explained this album was everything! I don't get why so many people are just waiting for BTS' down fall and be blatently hating on this album or them. This album was everything!!!! So powerful and the wait was worth everything. The songs, the quality, the beautiful lyrics like so different from their past work but still reminiscent of it.This was an amazing comeback with all its glory!!! Armys are so proud of them for not fucking complying to the industry, for going in on their own, for showing us so many sides of them even if it's sad or happy. This album and comeback just set the bars so high! Just the way they combined with so many things like contemporary art and showed to us so many amazing artists!!! Uuuff my mind is just blown away and to think that nowadays artists like them are just rare! Everybody trying to do their hit songs with just simple beats and one word singing it over and over which makes me feel that music nowadays have lost the essence of its art. Bcz normally music is ART whether it's hip hop, rap, pop, rock or anything else. BTS has just showed that they have not lost that essence that makes music one of the superior art. Not to be that person but a lot of people won't understand how much this album means to us Armys. How much their music helps us! How much their lyrics talk to us! Armys will fight till the end for and with them!!!

In many ways BTS' music has always been extremely cathartic for me. I got into their music in April 2017, a month before their first win at the Billboard Awards that year. Since then their music and the way they have always honestly expressed their thoughts and emotions while also being complete goofballs challenged me to face myself, and that changed me. Their music was and still is extremely helpful to me in pivotal, dark moments in my life. And I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to know they have impacted others just as strongly if not more so. I'm glad their music has been a comfort to you during an extremely rough time. :) I hope that in the future you will be in a better state of health and I will keep you in my prayers. I can't believe someone I dont even know just defined my thoughts and feelings for this album, era, and bts. I don't know what condition you have, nor the pain it causes you in your every day life- but you mentioning that resonated with me as I do know what it's like to have your body and mind work against you. After watching this video I think it's safe to say that I'm finally ready to let the catharsis that's been threatening to spilling over the edges wash over me.

This era was so heartbreaking and motivating at the same time. I write, and at that time everything had been tearing away at all of my beliefs, so nothing was being written and I felt myself hate everything I had every put on a page. Black Swan gave me a will to write again and On let me breathe comfortably knowing that even if I would never know them personally, there is a group of 7 men cheering me on no matter what I pursue. This video gave me chills, with your words making me feel these things all over again, so thank you

The way everyone ( even some "armys" ) were so desperate to paint this masterpiece of an album into a generic/typical boy group sound and concept is so hysterical .
This album is preferably on the best albums to exist . Such beauty and diversity in songs ...the interconnection between the songs and the artist , the songs and the audience is so beautiful to see. BTS always makes music that touches my soul . Only a few artist can have this impact on me . Namely Lewis Capaldi , Anson Seabra , BTS , Taylor (some songs) . BTS makes the kind of songs that I would pick over anything else any day . Their art , their dedication towards it , their passion towards it ...it truly reflects in their music . Each song in this album is a journey of its own ...they take you through a emotional roller coaster . Each song is a beautiful experience of its own . No one can top BTS and their music for me 💜 .

bts' lyricality is so fucking strong because them writing their music a lot that it makes them nail even the overused themes which were actually coined by them in the beginning of their careers. they have been followed into the ly theme by the entirety of kpop big three and smaller groups a lot but its the fact that the originals to do it the best that keeps me from stanning the newer people who follow the same ' we wish to stay real with our fans' trend goin on rn ngl

I don't know if it's the fact that you speak with a certain aggressive determination in your voice, or the words you choose to string together or what you mean when you say those words, you just gave me a lot to think about. This is a powerful video. It's also so interesting to see what you saw in the MV. I've never thought about catharsis, and now it somehow makes perfect sense. i love this so much :( this made me cry lmao, i feel like i've been crying since the album came out but this resonates with me on so many levels and makes me emotional most of us because i can FEEL that the boys gave their all on this album and are so damn proud of it, and they are proud of it because it is their stories (all of them) put into a piece of art that will forever live on. this is definitely a rebirth for them and i am so excited for everything that's to come in the future. bts are once in a lifetime type of artists

I 100% agree with this entire video and I'm so excited that this is the album I'm going to see live, because it's layered and full of fight. A fight for balance and an urge to go back to the musicality, back to lyrics with meaning, that find those dark places and break them open, only to take them into account when they move forward. Jungkook acknowledges that when he says "one time for the present, two times for the past", because BTS moving forward is wrapped in how they've started only to come here.
However, you word this more beautifully than I and as always I look forward to your videos.

The way you appreciate BTS and their artistry and put it into words so well that I find myself agreeing with literally every word coming out of your mouth is amazing. I feel the exact same as you. They really are so authentic and I will never ever be able to understand the people that call them generic or mainstream. I’ve only known about them for a few months now, but the way they discuss so many important topics in their music and in their life has made me love them so much in such a short amount of time. It feels like I’m at home. Them and their music make me feel warm inside, happy, understood. I don’t know how many times I’ve cried the past few months, because of the overwhelming feeling of passion and love that I have for them and their music and voices. "Isn't that the point of music? It reaches us when we needed it the most." Damn right!! I didn't have that sentiment until 2017, I first started stanning bts back in 2014 when I was in college and kpop was basically only a stress reliever bc it was shiny and fun and everyone's pretty. But then time goes by and life happens, 2016 was such a hard year, my life felt like crumbling down, and everyday I woke up only to wish to die. Everyday. I didn't think I would pass 2017 at that point when new year came i really felt like giving up. then spring day released. The lyrics spoke to me and it still does to this day, I was so relieved that I wasn't giving up, I was so thankful that these seven guys who r basically strangers and don't know if im exist literally saved my life more than once.

This video brought me to tears.. Thank you. I.. have a lot going on in my personal life too and I.... the album... it opened the floodgates basically. Six years ago a different BTS song spoke to me, there have been many BTS songs since then that spoke to me, held my hand, gave me a stern talking to even.. This album was like.. heightened version of all that. It's my favorite comeback since Tear too.
I think.. so many people sincerely love BTS and see them as friends rather than celebrities (of course with boundaries, friendships need boundaries too) is because they make us feel like we belong /somewhere/... I think bbygang did a video about how the message to love yourself is political if anyone's interested.. But yeah, you got my brain to open the floodgates again.
I don't know you anywhere else, I hope the world is kind to you, gives you more happy days going forward. Don't worry about putting content out regularly, you come first.
